I am extremely picky about choosing a veterinarian to care for my animal companions. Compassion is primary. I look for someone who is either up on the most recent research or is willing to look at it. Must be open to consulting with specialists. Considers my input in terms of deciding what is best for my furkids. I have found all these qualities in Dr. Melanie Ring. She is stellar! I have two very challenging rescue dogs. Both are fearful of people, especially my street dog from Greece. Dr. Ring has gone out of her way to accommodate them, as have the rest of the staff. I strongly recommend Dr. Ring for anyone who has a fearful dog. I have also been impressed with Dr. Meaghan Wentzell, who cared for a senior dog I brought in for ElderDog.

The Staff go out of their way to help you. They follow up with phone calls to see how your pet is doing after surgery. They have 24 hr ER coverage so no driving to the city for good care after hours. You can always get an appointment quickly if needed. The prices are in range with other clinics in the area and the city. They don't hesitate to contact specialists if needed.. Best clinic in the area!

I've carried a balance there before with no problems. Had a cat that we rushed in ill and had to stay 3 nights. He was fine but then 2 days later had another cat who we ended up rushing in and ended up loosing her. Went to pick up her ashes and were told we could not have them until we paid the balance in full which was over $700.00! This clinic is all about the money. Their prices are double of any other clinic in the area or even Halifax. We miss the vet that we dealt with as she actually was in it for the well being of the animals and was very sympathetic to our situation. To refuse to release you pets ashes until payment in full is just plain cruel, especially when I'd carried a balance before and always paid it off in a timely fashion. I will never recommend this clinic again.

I have been taking my animals here for over 20 years and the care has always been excellant. Emergency care is top notch, emergency after hours calls are always returned within minutes.
