Click to report rating    2/6/12   5     5     4     4   Dr. Yarrow has been great for us. When our 14 year old Sheppard had to be put down, she made time in her schedule to be there for us during the difficult decision. She walked us through the whole procedure, and was very comforting. Now, our 2 year old Weimaraner is having unexplained panic attacks/seizures. Dr. Yarrow was our first call. RID: 32057
Click to report rating    4/23/11   1     3     3     3   I also had an experience where my dog ruptured his ACL and was told I had to take him to her colleague in Springfield, MA. The surgery was $4,500 and the initial consult was $100.00. When speaking to my breeder she gave me the number of another surgeon and he did the surgery and the cost was $1,800.00. Mill Pond dropped me without notice. I had three of my own dogs and numerous rescues that I had brought to Mill Pond. The treatment of customers is extremely uncaring as well as unprofessional. RID: 24574
Click to report rating    4/13/11   1     3     1     1   During a recent visit to Mill pond, I witnessed Dr. Yarrow verbally attack her receptionist. It was embarassing to see and I will never go back. If she treats her employees that way, how is she treating our animals when we are not their to witness it? I would not trust her with my pets. Take warning. RID: 24371
Click to report rating    12/2/10   1     2     4     1   We lost our beloved Doberman of 9 1/2 years on 9/11/10. He had cruciat ruptures of both knees when he was 3 years old. Dr. Yarrow did a blood workup on him for surgury. She recommended a collegue of her's out of state. She left me a message stating that my dog's bloodwork was perfect(quote). I decided that I wanted my dog treated close to home so that I could visit him. I told her so. She did not like what I said. Dr. White was recommended by a very good friend who is a vet tech. I brought my dog to Dr. White and I thank God that he did his own bloodwork on my dog or I would have lost him to this collegue of Dr. Yarrow's. I left her a message telling her what had happened. She never returned my call and I requested all my animals records to be sent elsewhere. Dr. Yarrow made me feel helpless at this very difficult and vulnerable time. I will never forget how she made me feel after she charged me 500.00 for x-rays and a misdiagnoses. I would not recommend her based on my experience. RID: 21211
Click to report rating    11/16/10   5     5     5     4   Dr. Yarrow and the staff at Millpond saved my dogs life. I can't thank them enough. They not only took wonderful care of her, they took care of us. They answered all of our questions and helped us make informed decisions. RID: 20903
Click to report rating    10/2/09   1     3     4     1   Verbally abusive to staff in front of animals & patients. No regard for pet emergencies & still wants them out of the building in 15 minutes unless hospitalized. Forces staff to treat too many patients at once too quickly. Extremely unprofessional. Makes up policy as it suits her for existing patients. RID: 14509
Click to report rating    9/27/09   1     2     1     1   The staff is rude and doesn't seem to care about keeping the clients happy. Dr. Yarrow is rude and conceded with no bedside manner; or even manners in general, Dr. Carter is great (if she was listed as a vet on here I would give her a high rating), she has a wonderful personality and a good bedside manner, and Dr. Wray. Although new he is the most kind hearted of the 3 who understands what families are going through, has a great bedside manner and knows how to word a diagnosis in such a way for the family to understand exactly what is going on, not like Yarrow who uses big words and expects you 2 know what the heck she is talking about. Dr. Wray is compassionate and you can tell he loves what he does(would also give his a high rating by himself). Nd on top of it, 2 transfer my animals records a new vet they charged me to send them nd when I saw the new vet nd told them, they said that that was ridiculous, I shouldn't have had 2 pay 2 get my animals records. DON'T RECOMMEND AT ALL!! RID: 14432
Click to report rating    7/5/09   2     4     2     4   When Dr. Yarrow stopped making house calls, her attitude changed. One of my cats got very sick and the things she tried only helped for a couple of days at a time. But he never really got better. After 2 weeks of no improvement, I decided it wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion. When the second vet called for the info on my cat, she called me up, blew up at me for getting a second opinion without her permission, and said that it was time to part ways. I received a letter from her telling me that I would never be able to bring another animal to her even if it was an emergency and I could never get medication from her. PS I did get another opinion, my animal was treated for something she missed, and the cat lived healthfully and fully for another 4 years. RID: 13391
Click to report rating    1/9/09   1     2     2     1   Dr. Yarrow performed a surgery on my dog, not because it was the best option for my dog but because she could perform it. When that surgery failed Dr. Yarrow then told us about another surgery that would have been better for my dog but it was asurgery she couldn't perform. After countless visits and 3 years of my dog being lame we gave up on Dr. Yarrow. When we found a new vet it was extremely difficult to get my dogs medical records, when they finally faxed them to the new vet they were incomplete and illegible. Dr. Yarrow never contacted me to find out why I was leaving her practice. Before you let Dr. Yarrow perform surgery on your pet get a second opinion, I wish I had. RID: 11127

8/22/08   1     3     3     1   my wonderful cat oliver which i rescued 4 years ago off of the quinnipiac river bridge was going thru renal failure. i was in a situation at the apex of his crisis inwhich i was desperate for some food that was of a renal support recipe. i contacted millpond vet, which is dr. yarrows practice and inquired about the availability of a few different brands. they assured me that they had plenty on hand. unfortunately they couldnt sell it to me unless oliver had a full work up at their facility. i told them that he had just spent a week a another local vet and recieved all the preliminary and adjusted care for his condition. and that i was in an emergency situation and had to jumpstart his appetite immediately or the consequences could be horrible. they did not care that the pet had already been diagnosed nor did they offer to contact the vet for a perscription. they were only concerned about my money. and the funny thing is, is that i offered to pay for an office visit but they wanted more RID: 9740
