Click to report rating    4/6/15   1     1     1     1   We visited this clinic, knowing er procedures would be more expensive. After consulting with Dr.Riolo, he led us to believe our pet couldn't withstand an overnight wait before seeing our regular vet, and implied our regular vet was incapable of handling a routine surgery. He was rude, impersonal, and answered all our questions with questions directed back to us. His suggested route of treatment (surgery) revealed nothing that a qualified vet couldn't have told us with a series of educated guesses. Our discharge instructions were written differently than what we were told, and the other vet on staff at pick-up would not answer any questions, just gave us the surgical report to read. I would suggest you tenderly care for your pets at home until your routine vet is in before I would ever suggest going here. Unless, of course, you enjoy being belittled, taken advantage of in an emotional time, overcharged for mediocre care, & judged by the world's worst and most egotistical vet. RID: 56536
Click to report rating    9/9/12   5     5     5     5   I have NO complaints about this place, the staff and doctors are wonderful. I have been here many times for my naughty/troublesome pets, and have been helped by 3 of there doctors (which all are great.) yes, the prices are high but you are paying for "EMERGENCY SERVICES" it is no diffrent then going to the hospital for our emergency situations. When you call ahead of time they give you a heads up on what the exam fee's are before coming in. Which if you ask me is your choice in if you want to come in or not. They also have many options if you are unable to pay for everything up front, such as care credit & many others--just ask. I am greatly thankful for being able to have a place like this around the area, I will go to them with any emergency that occurs with my little fuzzy friends & so should you. Thank you so much Central Wisconsin Animal Emergency Center--KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK :) RID: 37082
Click to report rating    6/3/12   1     1     1     1   Absolutely horrible, and four times the price of my regular vet. Treated me poorly, and didn't even do anything with my dog. Absolute worst, avoid if at all possible. RID: 34701
Click to report rating    2/23/11   1     1     1     1   When our dog was run over by a car, Dr Riolo tried to get us to rush 100 miles away for immediate surgery. He based that on his exam even tho there was nothing showing on the X-rays. He said the surgeon was not available for comment until we got ahold of our vet and asked him to speak with her. Suddenly the surgeon was available. When we still wanted him to speak with her, he showed us air in our dog's abdomen and said he could be riddled with cancer. Finally, we decided it was safe to travel the extra distance to our vet. Then he tried to charge us $1200 for X-rays, pain meds and an exam. When we said we had agreed only to pay $700 he charged us a little over $700. This is not a man who cares about animals. This is a man who would cause more suffering for a buck. Don't go here if you have ANY other options. RID: 23091
Click to report rating    10/11/09   5     5     5     3   The rates are higher than the vet open during regular hours. However, they did a fantastic job with my dog, who has been there numerous times due to medical problems. They were kind, caring, and treated the problems. RID: 14633
Click to report rating    4/24/09   2     5     1     1   I had my cat seen by these people and would never go back, the prices were out of this world, 10 times what my vet charges. Due to the high prices I could not afford to have my cat treated by them and had to wait until the next day - this wait is costing my cat his life. I did have all the procedures done at my normal vet, had they been done a day sooner could have been the differende between life and death. In a nut shell - this place charges 10 times the normal rate for services saying that they have to charge that because they are open nights and weekends - I say it's just to gouge people trying to dave a member of their family that happens to be a pet, The vet was rude after I asked about the high prices, and told me my cat was going to die anyway, if I had the procedure done that day he might have survived. My cat is paying the ultimate price as I could not justify spending that kind of money in a recession that has me driving 225 miles to work. Don't go here for help. RID: 12559
