My dog Max, 15 years old, had 4 teeth pulled on a Friday and I couldn't get the meds in his mouth. I took him to Great Lakes Pet Emergencies and he hydrated him and the vet got the pills down. This was Saturday night. Sunday morning, the vet called to ask abut him, and said to bring him over and she would give him his pills, and she didn't charge me. I really appreciated this and I highly recommend them. I have been there with other animals and so has my daughter. We have always gotten great service. Barb Bruske

Our cocker spaniel was due to give birth early last fall, but around a week before the expected date, she started breathing heavily and deteriorating healthwise. We took her into Great Lakes late that evening when it was apparent she wasn't getting better, and the doctor performed an emergency c-section. Happy to say that mommy and all the pups survived. Great lakes did an amazing job!

TERRIBLE! Worst experience ever! After $850.00 in testing, Dr. Grants diagnosis was "it's BAD". She wanted to put the dog to sleep. We took our dog home and is now running around in our yard!!! She has no regard for the family owners, but if you can front some money she will be glad to run a bunch of tests for your pet! Just make sure you bring your VISA! PLEASE Don't take your pet there!!! We decided after she wanted to do more tests on our 10 year old dog to take him home and take him to his regular vet on Monday. Her comment was "what to watch him DIE???" Yes, she said this in front of my 2 small children. Well, we didn't watch him die.....WHAT WAS SHE THINKING?

This is the absolute bottom of the barrel. Dr. Grant, the owner, is the worst of the worst - I have had dogs for 36 years and seen many, many veterinarians and she is by far the worse I have ever experienced - terrible attitude with people, apparently not competent as a veterinarian, and uncaring about the animals to boot. I have heard of many problems with her from many other people, and have myself had several experiences there, all bad. The last one resulted in my dog dying in pain after several hours of Dr. Grant not doing anything except periodically telling me she didn't know what the dog's problem was, "but it's bad." A postmortem revealted my dog could have been saved surgically. I will not go there again. I have driven 1 1/2 hours to a different emergency clinic since that last experience. Iterestingly, the receptionist at that clinic told me she gets quite a few people from the Saginaw area who come further because of bad experiences with Great Lakes and Dr. Grant.
