Click to report rating    1/23/20   4     4     3     4   I have been going to Dr. Schultz since 1991 for multiple cats. I have always been very pleased with his thoughtful and practical approach. He really seems to put the comfort of the pet first. I have also been to a few other vets around Toronto when I volunteered for a cat rescue and I would not exchange him for another. Dr. Schultz is transitioning to retirement and he's passing this business on to another vet, Dr. Forbes. I don't find Dr. Forbes very remarkable. He used to work at an emergency clinic so I think he's knowledgeable; however, he seems to be one of those vets that wants to do a lot of testing before he's comfortable making a diagnosis (which, when you think about it, would seem contrary to someone used to dealing with emergencies?). I don't like that approach. In the process of this transition, it appears the front line staff is changing over as well. The new staff is nice but I still prefer dealing with Cheryl when possible. Click to report rating    5/16/18   5     5     5     5   I highly recommend Woodbridge Animal Hospital. Dr. Forbes is a wonderful Vet, he always takes his time, answers all my questions and treats my little Yorkie Carly with love and care. Dr. Forbes spayed Carly and has done two dental cleanings(procedures), he always personally calls me to follow up or give me any tests results for Carly even when he is very busy. Carly loves Dr. Forbes and all of the staff at Woodbridge Animal Hospital .. especially Jodi, she has been so helpful, we can't thank her enough. Great rates, friendly and compassionate staff and very clean. RID: 66146
Click to report rating    8/24/17   5     5     5     5   I was so sceptical of finding a trust worthy vet after another vet almost killed by beloved fur baby and from personal recommendations from anyone I spoke to in Woodbridge, this veterinary hospital is regarded as "the BEST". Now "I" can verify , they are the "Best". Their pricing is less than 2 previous clinics I've attended & having 2 x 90lb dogs, vet bills are farrrr from cheap!! Dr Forbes having Emergency experience sold me as he personally knew the Emergency Vet from TVEH that greeted us when we arrived at 1230am (Dec 2015) with our baby who had a 20% survival rate from the negligence of our previous vet. Dr Forbes is extremely thorough examining my girls & has never pushed any adviice or unnecessary tests on me. My sister attends this practice now with her 2 fur babies and is equally happy. Click to report rating    3/12/17   1     1     1     1   Totally unethical , horrible vet, money hungry , Dr Forbes killed my cat with his stupidity , took all my saving and killed my cat, go somewhere else to save your animals and money RID: 63004
Click to report rating    2/5/15   5     5     5     5   He is the kindest vet on the planet. When he refers your pet to the emergency clinic it is out of kindness that they have the testing and care your pet requires. I have brought my dogs and cats there for over 20 years. He charges much less than other veterinarians. There sometimes are things that he won't charge you for. He is so gentle and doesn't do "across the board" testing. He will start with a test and if required will go onto the next, so as to not do any unnecessary testing which equals $$$.I've seen dentistry bills from other clinics for over $800 plus. For this, I bring him coffee, double double. RID: 55780
Click to report rating    1/22/15   5     5     4     5   all the staff are very compassionate and I know when I leave my pets with them, my animals are in the best hands possible. That is not something to take lightly. I travel from Scarborough now just to see Dr. Schultz. All of my family brings their animals there too. None of us, or our pets, have ever had a problem. Sometimes appointments run behind but the vet is worth the wait. Prices are affordable, and the facility is clean. It is NOT an emergency clinic, so obviously anything needing immediate attention, would be referred to an emergency clinic like Northtown. You wouldn't go to your family doctor when you're in the in midst of a heart attack. You go to the ER. Unless you're an idiot. RID: 55566
9/17/14   1     1     1     3   Our cat is sick and when I called to make the appointment, first thing the staff said take him to some North Emerg place in Brampton. What is the point of having a vet when he is not even there to see the cat? These people are in cahoots with the North emerg otherwise, for an issue like this, the vet could've seen our cat. Meow is still sick and we are trying to find a better vet. This vet is down!! Never again! this Vet stuff is the most unregulated practice in Canada. I am deeply shamed and disappointed by these people. RID: 53585

Click to report rating    10/29/13   1     2     1     3   Thanks to this stupid Doctor our precious Shih Tzu almost died. I brought him for an examination after he was extremely lethargic, wasn't eating, was vomiting and basically was unresponsive to everything. When Schultz examined him he just gave him a physical exam and said that he "probably" has an intestinal infection. He prescribed some antibiotics and said that he should feel better within a few days. Well, not only did my dog not feel better, he became gravely ill. I took him to Northtown for some treatment which cost us $2000.00 and then we had to transfer him to a hospital in Oakville where he was put in ICU. There he was diagnosed with a deadly bacteria called Leptosperosis. This is when dogs or cats somehow come in contact with the contaminated urine of wildlife such as raccoons, skunks, etc.and it attacks their liver and kidneys. Thanks to Oakville/Mississauga emergency vet. Hospital, they saved his life. He is still in the Hospital recovering but he looks better every day.My po RID: 47968

3/22/13   4     4     3     5   I have been taking my cats to Dr. Schultz since 1992. He has always been compassionate & kind. He has a sensible approach and I don't feel he's trying to squeeze clients for money. His office is limited for more complicated problems, but he can handle most of your pet's needs (that's why the facilities get a 4 - they are otherwise clean and nicely appointed). I appreciate that he doesn't try to sell anything except medications and lint rollers - unlike some more expensive and "glitzy" offices. He has cut back on his Saturdays so getting an appointment outside of business hours is a little harder, though he's open until 7pm a few nights instead. This is a busy office though, so last minute appointments are tough to get. RID: 41242
Click to report rating    3/14/13   4     5     4     5   Really enjoying bringing my dog to this Vet. The Dr is very knowledgeable and takes the time to diagnose the situation very carefully. I've referred to other family members as well. Keep up the good service! RID: 41059
Click to report rating    4/30/12   3     4     4     5   The Doctor is a really nice guy; however, some of his front desk staff are just horrible. So, one of the cons of going to this vet is dealing with the front desk ladies. Also, another con is that although the doctor is a nice guy he does refer any complex case to other hospitals where you will pay an arm and a leg for services. He does not tackle any cases that aren't fast and easy or routine. Referrals are just plain stupid after having had xrays other stuff done at the clinic there when you're going to have to get the same stuff done at the hospital after the fact. Paying twice is unfair; if you can't do it, don't do it at all. Wish he'd be more honest about this. Also, medication is sometimes not dispensed properly or not enough, thereby forcing you to come back and pay for another visit. So, if you need to get vaccinations done or some easy stuff than this is the place for you, but anything more look elsewhere >> Totally great in that sense. RID: 33892
Click to report rating    3/10/12   5     5     4     5   I have brought 2 of my dogs to Dr.Schultz for the past 15 years and found him to be one of the most honest, reasonably priced vets. He is gental and caring with my dogs and as well as his staff. He came recommended by a friend after my bad experience with another vet in the area and have been seeing him ever since. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who loves their pet! RID: 32783

6/28/11   1     1     1     1   Administratively, this is the WORST vet I have ever been to. They are more concerned about getting your money than they are about the pets. I have taken my pet here repeatedly for similar issues yet they continue to pump different medicine in him with no success. Additionally they nickle and dime you every step of the way. They have failed to call me for 5 days to report the stool sample findings when I was originally told I would be contacted within 48 hours. I've also had issues with the medication they prescribe as well. On more than one occasion they sent me home with medication, yet they did not include enough pills as the bottle directions instructed. I had to make an extra trip to the office to pick up the pills and they barely even apologized for the inconvenience. Also, please be aware that they do not cooperate with mail in pharmacy services other than their own, which is more expensive, of course. If you would like to use a mail in pharmacy, they require you to pay $5. RID: 25863

Click to report rating    2/27/09   5     5     5     5   the doctor is honest and always has my pets best interest in mind. My poorly behaved dog is always treated kindly there and I trust the staff with her. I have never experienced a problem and always leave with my questions answered :) RID: 11874
Click to report rating    9/16/08   1     1     1     1   This guy has no idea what he is doing. Sends all his complicated cases (bloodwork apparently is complicated) to Northtown without telling the clients how expensive it is. This has happened to two of my friends. One ended up putting his very ill dog to sleep after an hour in the car because he couldnt afford what they offered him. He could have spared his dog the trip if the Dr had just been honest with him. He loved his dog but it was cancer and nothing could be done. RID: 10021
