I took my 9 month old puppy to the st. Francis Animal Clinic to have him neutered at a cost of $488. 2 days later he suffered a seizure and when I returned to the clinic she implied that it was due to my neglect. unfortunately he was unable to use his hind legs. I will forever regret taking my dog there!!! 5 days later and $3,000 later I received a call saying he was in pain and needed to be put down. I responded by saying I will be there immediately. the doctor's response was that she had a business meeting that took priority! I will never ever take another animal to dr. Patti Weir or the st. Francis Animal Clinic.

We took our dog here for years, we loved Dr Weir, she was fantastic. Dr Kelsick, however, was unfriendly bordering on rude on more than one occasion. Our biggest issue after our last visit was her lack of service and their outrageous prices. We were quoted a cost of $450.00 for a nueter only for a new Beagle puppy, my father had just paid $200.00 for a neuter and microchip for a large breed puppy a month older. In order to get get shots were are automatically charged a $78.00 exam fee PLUS medications for each of the three vaccination appointments. If we bring both dogs at the same time we pay the exam fee for EACH dog (IE $156 to walk in). The "discounted" puppy package was $900.00. We switched to a new vet: the nueter will be $150.00 (which is what I was billed for the first vaccinations at St Francis) and we are not slammed with a $78.00 exam fee every time we come - I get variant pricing, but 3 times the cost just because I drove 20 mins in the other direction is insane.

I will NEVER take my dog to this clinic again. Cost was very high for a visit ($75). They also insisted on clipping her nails before doing the exam, which added a further fee to the visit, even though I told them that she was scheduled for a grooming the very next day. It took three visits for a respiratory problem to be diagnosed, and this was done only after I insisted on an xray. Also, while it is prudent to be cautious around all dogs, some of the staff actually seemed afraid of my gentle, but nervous, dog. Never again.

Every time my dog is treated there he comes home with fleas. Cost is also an issues. The last trip we were quoted 500-600 and the total was $1500. In addition to this when the issue that my dog is have is still ongoing and we are being referred to a different vet.
