very overpriced...and try to do extensive tests to animals that sadly are dying and should be euthanized. money hungry

My wife and I had taken our dogs there for a number of years and noticed that they were providing services that we hadn't requested. When our Akita was 13 she had been in the office a lot for a number of procedures the last of which was an open wound on her hnd quarter that continued to get worse. She couldn't walk very well and was constantly bleeding.When we finally decided to have her euthenized we were informed tha she need to have a fulll evaluation and it would cost $300s. We found another vet. They also diagnosed our other dog with lime disease but didn't offer any treatment options. When we talked to our new vet they said the treatment was simple effective and inexpensive and he is doing much better now. I am outraged that he had to suffer for months and feel that BEBT is to blame for his suffering. Don't use this vet.

This clinic is amazing. My dog has chronic arthritis from a luxating patella. After surgery and rehabilitation Bumblebee is walking like she hasn't walked in years. The cost of surgery was a little bit less than Iowa State, and the cost of rehab was a little bit more but I don't have to drive. They are always friendly and they call for followups after nearly every appointment. I can't say enough good things about BEBT!

BEBT is the vet care provider for our shelter animals during emergencies or special medical care patients. We would NEVER take them anywhere else. The staff and Vets have always been supportive, educated and above all compassionate. They have top of the line technology that our local vets can't provide. You may pay more but it's worth EVERY single dime! I take all of my personal special needs animals to BEBT because they can offer everything and they are so educated about more than just general practice medicine. We can never say enough about what they have done for the many special needs animals they have seen from our shelter. And on a personal level they save two of my animals from certain death. Their smiles, compassion, and knowledge makes you feel like a part of their family. BEBT is a fantastic facility and I would reccomend anyone go there!!!

This hospital excels at treating very sick pets and special-needs animals. They have done things for my dog that no one else in the area has offered, including orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation including a swimming treadmill. YES it can be expensive, but the basic office fee is about average - it only got expensive for me with their specialty services. If you want this level of care, you likely will see more than one doctor unless you can wait for your favorite doctor to have an open appointment (but then with orthopedics and rehab you still need to see one of their specialists). If there are other hospitals in Iowa City where you can see the same doctor for both routine appointments and after hours emergencies, I haven't found them yet. I usually see Dr. Jenn Berger, but the others have access to my records at all times. I have found all the doctors to be thorough and caring, and so the net value is unequaled anywhere else. I think this is a great hospital!

Pricey...very pricey And don't count on seeing the same vet every time; you'll probably have to explain your situation a half dozen times. We ultimately decided to go elsewhere.

Excellent front staff! Always take time out to give my dogs lots of love and attention. All the doctors we have seen have been very knowledgeable. Great facility.

This is a top-rate facility with very knowledgeable doctors. Sometimes they get a little behind in appointments when dealing with emergencies but that's to be expected with unplanned visits like that. I'm very grateful that a facility like this exists in Iowa City.

When my pet died in the care of this business,they brought her dead body out to the lobby. They saw no problem with doing such and questioned my reaction to my pet's death. Poor business and poor care of a loved one!

I was told that x-rays had been taken of my dog but they were unable to produce them. They poked at all four of his legs and both jugular veins multiple times but were unable to draw blood. Then I was told my bill was nearly $700, but when I had them itemize it, it dropped to $423. Terrible service.
