Am very disappointed and all trust has been lost with this vet clinic. First off, the Breslau vet diagnosed my dog in the fall of 2021 with a Stage 4 heart murmur which of course, has been very upsetting to me. I was told to keep an eye on her going forward for any usual or lethargic behavior, and not to over exert her. Secondly, at this same visit, I was told she had a cracked tooth and that it would have to be extracted at some point . I feel this clinic is very quick to rush to a diagnosis and suggest they look at their medical professionals they have employed giving out false information. I have had my dog examined very recently and asked that they examine these two issues. My dog has NO heart murmur and her back molar was NEVER cracked. Please be careful taking your precious fur babies here. A second opinion is highly recommended.

I had a great experience when I brought my dog in for a nail clipping. I arrived a few minutes early for the appointment and they brought my dog in right away. The assistant (Amy) was kind, friendly, and made my dog feel at ease even though he hates having his paws touched. Wonderful staff. Thanks to everybody at Breslau Animal Hospital.

Dr. Mellillo and Dr. Duckworth are amazing doctors and very compassionate towards our dogs. They explain everything and are very thorough. Love the amazing care my dogs receive here. They also do follow up phone calls to see how they are feeling to make sure there are no reactions weather it be surgery or vaccination. Have no worries when taking my fur babies here.

Went to this clinic which is now under new management and loved it! Dr. Melillo and Dr. Duckworth are amazing doctors and were very compassionate towards our dog. They explain everything in great detail and are very thorough with their examinations. I feel like my dog had a great experience and received amazing care!

We recently to this vet for an emergency appt. Instead of telling us about the treatment Dr. Guest would not stop talking about herself. Inappropriate boundaries. I heard about her car accidents, her medical history, weekend and children. Can you focus on our EMERGENCY!!! We visibly upset and she couldn't shut up about herself long enough to be caring about my dog. She would only refer my pet to a specialist of her choice. We asked about a closer option and she denied it. She refused to release our dog until we agreed to her decision, which I learned is against vet college rules! She would not give us all of the information and let us make us informed decisions. She bullied us, was rude and condescending. I was sorry worried about my pet and she was of no help at all. I will not be back. She was not helpful in a emergency situation and our pet is a member of the family. Stop talking about yourself Dr. Guest and focus on the patient in the room!!

We took our 2 rescued cats for a de-clawing and we were given a quote that turned out that quote was for EACH cat when we picked them up today. I couldn't believe my ears when she gave us the total bill. When we got the original quote we distinctly heard the quote was for BOTH cats...but apparently the word "both" means "each" at this vet clinic. We will never return and actively advise everyone we know to never go there. I've already contacted the Canadian Vet Association about their shady billing practices.

Its been 5 weeks since we lost our 8 year old Chocolate Lab. It was one of the hardest things we have ever had to go through. Even though Boomer didn't recover from his illness we have the peace of mind that Dr. Guest and the staff at Breslau Animal Hospital gave him the absolute best care possible.
With 18 years experience as a veterinarian Dr. Guest has developed strong relationships with some of the best specialists in their fields and having these resources available is invaluable for serious cases.
What we really appreciated was everyone's commitment to Boomers treatment, from Dr. Guest treating Boomer each day outside of office hours to Kayla and Val sleeping beside Boomer in the Kennel when he had to be there overnight to Lauren bringing in her dog Kane to donate blood. The entire staff was invested in Boomer professionally and emotionally.
We are very grateful for the care and support they provided.

The secretaries were nice but we had to wait over 30 minutes. Dr. Guest told us we had to buy things that no other vet has ever recommended. She didn't show any compassion for our scared cats and she was very unprofessional with talking about personal things.

I have been a client of Dr. Guests for about 6 years. I first came to Dr. Guest with an elderly dog that was having hot spots and various stomach issues. Our previous vet was adding medication after medication with no improvement. On our first visit to Dr. Guest she suggested changing Emma’s food. Within a week her symptoms subsided and our Emma was comfortable once again. Dr. Guest ensured our older dog was comfortable throughout her elder years and when the time came to say goodbye it was done with respect and compassion. I have since adopted two more dogs. Our youngest one came with many challenges. I feel that she acts in the best interest of the animals and has passion for animal welfare and her community. This vet gives her hours and time to animals whose clients could not care for them. Dr. Guest has gone on missions to support animal welfare in other parts of the world. To suggest that the only reason she does this job is for the money is ludicrous. I recommend this vet.

We have been to many vets with our 5 German Shepherds and no one has come close to Shirleen's skills and compassion for animals. We would recommend her to anyone who really wants excellent care. She goes above and beyond the call of duty, with all nighters with very sick animals and end of life care.

The Breslau Animal Hospital is the best place for my animals to go. I would never bring my animals anywhere else! Dr. Guest is one of the most compassionate and caring people I have ever met in my life. She always cares for all of my animals to the best of her ability and makes sure that I understand what is going on with my animals. I also enjoy that Dr.Guest is straight forward and doesn't beat around the bush so that you know exactly what is wrong with your animals and what you need to do to fix it. Ate breslau, you will always get the same vet for your animals when you ask, and you don't have to have a bunch of different vets that do not know your animals looking at them. I would recommend this vet's office to anyone and everyone I meet who is looking. Remember to say hello to Beep when you walk in, the gray and white kitty! He's the friendliest!

This is the year that we finally get a new vet. Dr Guest tries to give every possible vaccine to our dog, and never asks. After our dog reacted poorly to one, she tried to give it to her again the next year and argued with me about which one was the problem. Luckily the Emerg vet that we took our dog to for the reaction had better records. When Dr Guest realized the mistake, she blamed her team. She was actually mad at us for even asking about it. On top of that, she misdiagnosed our dog in a major way. Only after the operation the surgeon confirmed that it was a misdiagnoses. Thousands of $ later and way too much suffering for our dog. Never going to let that happen again. Her inability to listen will lead to many more misdiagnosis, but not with our dog. The more we talk to others in the area, the more we've realized that we've really allowed our dog to suffer by continuing to go back to her. So many similar stories that it's scary. Beware. I would not joke about how serious this is.

I won't be coming back to this vet. Firstly, I agree with what most others have said about dr.guest talking down to you. She does do that. I waited an extra 15-20 minutes with my little dog who was terrified to be there in the first place because she was late. I've been there 3-4 times and still they dont seem to ever remember me or my dog at first. The one lady who works on the phone is very nice and friendly. All the others (younger girls) are COMPLETELY rude. Never going back.

Dr. Guest was highly recommended by a friend of mine when it was time to put my eldest cat down. Even though I had never met her before, I was instantly comfortable with her. She sat down with me, explained my options clearly and handled my cat with a level of compassion I did not expect. I am so grateful that this extremely difficult day was handled so well. I will highly recommend Dr. Guest to anyone.

Dr.Guest is rude,un-compassionate, un-informative, demeaning and overall unprofessional. She talks down to you, is un-accomodating, pushy, and her opinion is the only one that matters. She does not respect her clients decisions unless they are in her favour. She is more concerned with income then client or animal. I would never recommend her to anyone. Watch out for her hidden fees such as $80+ for injection fee apparently its not included in the cost.

I have been to 4 vets over the last 7 years and this is by far the best. The Veterinarian is very thorough and gives great advice. She has helped a lot with my kitties issues. I recommend her to all my friends. Her pricing is also very competitive. :) I actually enjoy interacting with everyone who works there.

would never recommend this vet. i think people go there because her prices are cheaper than most.. but i do not think it is worth the hassle. she is so rude and doesnt even smile with me. i had to wait forever and her staff looks too busy to accomodate the number of clients. i definitely did not go back after the 2nd visit. i think that Buck Animal Hospital has a warmer environment where the vets know my dogs and care... they may cost a bit more but my pups are worth it.

Dr Guest used to be the Vet where my animals (5 of them) used to go. Once that vet's practice was sold and a new vet took over he increased the cost of services astronomically. I have known Dr Guest as a Vet for over 10 years. She has always been kind, compassionate, caring, honest and upfront on costs/procedures/treatments etc. Recently 2 of our oldest dogs had to be put down and even though Shirleen was no longer their vet, her practice was able to treat my beloved boys with respect and compassion when having to put them down for HALF the price of my regular vet. The care by Breslau taken with my 2 boys absolutely made the experience less heartbreaking. I have just switched our youngest dog over to Breslau, even though it is 25 minutes from my house and my old vet was 5 minutes away. What I was quoted for Annual Exam, Shots & Tests came in very close to the cost, and was $200.00 less then my old vet. I highly recommend this practice and Dr Guest. Say Hi to Beep - Coolest Cat!

Dr Guest is fantastic, tells you how it is and does not try to sugar coat it. I'm not sure how people think she is rude...She is a Doctor not a salesperson. I think most people need to think about where they are....if you want to be coddled goto a 5 star resort. There is a place for everything, in this is a place for 5 Star medical care for your companion not a place to pamper your ego. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Dr Guest is an amazing vet. I have no idea how someone could say that she is pushy with products or rude. I have a pug that has major allergies and she has done nothing but try to help me figure out what the problems is without the expensive diagnosis. Also what vet would go to their clinic at 12am just to see your pet in an emergency. I can tell you not many. Dr Guest is amazing and i would recommend anyone take thier pet to her she is a caring person who always puts her patients first!!

this vet is awesome. i have been to several vets and now that i have found her, I will not go anywhere else. her love of animals is evident the first time you talk to her. i was very nervous about some issues with my pet and she went above and beyond what i would expect from a vet. she listened to my concerns and resolved each and every one. i feel very comfortable talking to her and i have never felt rushed by her. just the opposite in fact. she wants the owners of the pets to be as educated as possible in regards to their pets. despite all the attention she gives her patients i have never had to wait to see her. she has a great sense of humour and she always puts me at ease. i have 100% confidence in her and her abilities.

The staff at Breslau are lovely. The facility is nice. The doctor is not always on time, but that's because she will spend extra time with you if she needs to, and that's acceptable. The prices are extremely reasonable. We are always pleasantly surprised when we get our bill. We travel from very far to see Dr. Guest. When you find a vet that loves animals this much, it would be too hard to bring them anywhere else. Dr. Guest is honest, caring, funny, happy and smart. We are so grateful for her care of our pets.

Dr. Guest is by far one of the best veterinarians out there. She has rescued our family dog, and saved him from dieing. It only took Dr. Guest 2 days to diagnose Monty with his disease after seeing a different vet for nine months. The bad reviews on this website are most definitely wrong, and should be looked at again because whoever thinks that Dr. Guest is a bad veterinarian is certainly dumbfounded.

She has such a big heart and is full of kindness. My dog was so ill. I was so worried about his health. Dr Guest made him a priority. I am so thankful to have found Dr. Guest. I think that all of you with the disrespectful comments and thoughts have no clue as to what you are saying. You obviously do not know the same wonderful person that I know. I have nothing but praise for Dr. Guest. She is a caring, compassionate vet, who does not figure in her bottom line, when dealing with emergencies that come up in her practice daily. Her 1st concern is the welfare of her patients. I took my tiny poodle dog there for a break that should have required orthopedic surgery or a 90% chance of amputation. She successfully repaired the break, as I could not afford the surgery. She cared for my dog and fit me into her schedule for last minute concerns, took numerous xrays to make sure the break was healing and her staff always phoned after a visit to see if any follow up was needed. I am pleased to say that the break has healed and I now have a four legged dog albiet a not too bright one! Dr Guest's pratice has the best prices around and I travel from Guelph to go there. I have suggested her to all my friends and they also travel from Elmira and Guelph to see her. Her concern for the animals is reflected in her prices which do not go overboard.

We have been bringing all our animals here since the clinic opened. Very knowledgeable, and experienced. Wonderful surgeon! I started going to this a year and a half ago, I was looking to have my second dog spade and the vet I was currently using increased their prices by 65%, so I started looking for a new vet and this vet was recommended to me by my dog groomer. In the time that I have been using this vet, I have found her to provide excellent care to both of my dogs, very knowledgeable about dogs and shares the information with the owner. She does tell it like it is, which does not bother me personally, as all I care about is that she provides good care for my dogs and she does not soak me with an exagerated bill, which I am completely satisfied on both accounts. The only area for improvement would be punctuallity, if I have an appointment for 4:00 p.m. it would be nice to get in at that time or shortly after, obviously I am not the only one that likes her, as the waiting room is always full when I go.

I have been breeding dogs for 25 years (poodles) and at this time, have three small dogs as pets. Dr Guest was recommended to me by a Chihuahua breeder and I am so glad I found her. I have been going there for about three years now, and have found her nothing but caring, compassionate and fairly priced. She always checks up on my dogs after care, her staff are always pleasant and she goes above and beyond any other vet clinic I have attended in the last 25 years.The posted negative remarks are very biased, not indicative of her care I have experienced and I like it when a DR. calls a spade a spade! If you want a knowledgable vet with quality care, this is the place to go. I recommend her to all my puppy buyers.Her prices are well below the other area vets and you are getting better care. Shame on you children who posted negative comments!

I can assure you the staff there care nothing but pleasing their customers. They are constantly working to improve. I think second chances are in order. Nobody is perfect.

They don't care, went into to have my dog checked, they cared more about making me pay for more products then figuring out the problem... at the end of the visit.. They said the same thing it COULD have been the same thing they said over the phone... 2 weeks later prob still there.. I have to take him back to a vet...def not this one, every time I have been, she has been a rude person, late for appointments.. Rushed me out the door, after made me wait my appointment started late... didn't seem to give a F..
I do NOT recomend this vet.. Worst ever!

Staff are friendly enough,but seems to be a lack of communication and a lack of organization with info(argued about age of our dog,even though we've been going there since he was a puppy,and they had the file open in front of them, and keep getting told different info by different staff members about what protective treatments my dog needs).Vet also seems overly interested in selling and pushing products and extras.Makes me uncertain whether certain treatment is necessary or if she is just trying to make extra money.May look for different vet.

The most personable and compassionate Vet I have ever been lucky enough to have dealt with. She enjoys her work and cares deeply for her patients. Costs are reasonable, staff is helpful and courteous. Facilities are more than adequate, and care is second to none. This is someone who should be recommended to everyone.
