My husband took our dog here. She had a lump on her side, and the doctor told him the cost to remove it and to test it. My husband said no testing because we couldn't afford it. The doctor took off the lump and sent our dog home. The Vet called to check up on our dog and she said that she went ahead and looked at the tissue and said it was cancer, but did not charge us. She was very kind and compassionate, that is what I look for in a Vet.

OK maybe for emergencies (and expect to pay!) Runs like an HMO (with apologies to HMO's.)Rarely see the same vet twice, charts aren't thorough, so next vet isn't familiar with previous problem and doesn't remember pet. The vet pet sees one day may only work two days a week. Three Loomis Basin vets diagnosed my dog with allergies -- it was cancer, which was caught too late by an outside vet. Charged us $200 for a wild duck we brought by and vet was rude when we said we wouldn't pay another $200 for additional tests (as it was, no staff member remembers seeing the duck on IV's that morning, although we were charged for it.) My older, special needs dog was afraid of other dogs, yet we had to sit in waiting room for more than 30 minutes each visit (and, another 15 in other room to pay. Saw four different vets, and not one knew he was "special needs" until told so. Everyone I know who started with Loomis Basin has switched to a smaller, more personal and personable vet clinic.

Great vets, great care and competitive pricing. I have been taking my animals to Loomis Basin for eighteen years and have no intention of going anywhere else.

We've taken two separate animals here over the past two years and have been very satisfied with care and cost value. We've had several vets; we've found that you can request a favorite vet but he/she might not be available and so someone else will care for your animal. However, records are good and care is not interrupted. Recommend highly for dogs.
