They botched a very minor surgery on my cat and then suggested we put him down. He was in their care for about a week so I brought him home and he ran to his water and food dish as if he was dehydrated and starved. I took him for a second opinion and all he needed was more care and attention. A year later and he has finally recovered. After hours and hours of more surgery and lots of visits to another vet office.

Very disappointed with the quality of care our beagle received at Norgate. Both Dr. Andy and Dr. Sidhu were personable and kind, but the praise ends there because of the gross incompetency. Our 7 year old beagle had to have a growth removed from the side of his ribcage. The surgery seemed to go well, but his wound was swelling up in size within days. We were diligently giving him the prescribed antibiotics, but nothing seemed to help. Within less than a week, our dog was leaking fluid through the stitches. We thought he might have torn them through scratching, so we put a boot on his back foot (on top of the e-collar Norgate sold us). We took him in, Dr. Sidhu applied staple sutures and we were given a few more days worth of antibiotics.
We noticed that the additional antibiotics we were given were larger than the doses from the initial round. Same medication, but the original dose we were given were 125mg & these new ones were 375mg. We asked about this and were informed that we w

I took our cat in because he was having a very tough time standing up. After a 3 minute checkup, the doctor determined that it was probably muscle or joint issues, despite the fact that I had brought all the previous records that showed that the cat had kidney issues. An x-ray was suggested and I signed the order after seeing the estimate but asked the questions "Are you sure we shouldn't get blood work done?" to which I was told "No, I doubt it's that." When I returned to get our very sick cat, there was additional fees for getting a radiologist to read the x-ray which was not on the quote. I argued but decided to pay because I could see that this was going nowhere. We decided to take the cat to a new vet and when they requested the records, there was a newly added line stating that I had REFUSED the blood work! After the new vet did the blood work, it was determined that the cat was in renal failure and only had a couple days to live so we took him home to spend one more night.

After taking my dogs here for 3 years, I trusted Dr. Sidhu to remove a tumor from my dog. Surgery was done below standard of care. Not removed properly and they would not answer any of my questions or return my phone calls. Biopsy report comfirmed it was not removed fully. They ignored a BBB complaint and mediation attempt. I had to take my dog to another vet to do the surgery properly. They owe me $900 I had to pay out of pocket to have the surgery corrected. After 3 years as a client, I did not expect them to provide such neglectful services. My poor dog had to endure two surgeries as a result.

We have used Norgate Vet (and Dr Sidhu) for probably 3-4 years now - and highly recommend the practice. He has just seen our lab/border collie through a major surgery and took the time to talk us through the process and rehab, what to expect etc. I never feel rushed and he goes to lengths to explain what medication is being prescribed and what it is for. Our dog is our rescue dog, and is often fearful of men (our previous vet insisted she was muzzled when we took her to see him), but she is absolutely fine with Dr Sidhu - she just leans against him! The Vetinary Assistants are all friendly and helpful. Prices have gone up slightly in 2014, however, I still believe that this practice offers sound advice, a caring, experienced vet and good value for money.

The girls at the front are great. lots of turn over tho. We use to love Norgate but every since Capilano Vet closed everyone has gone there. The second Dr on staff didnt express my dogs anal glands properly so we had to go back,Dr Sidhu tried to say my dog had an infection and needed antibiotics, not true,I told Dr Sidhu no way she had the same stuff come out,I didnt put my dog on antibiotics and she was fine, the other Dr did it wrong. Every month and a half our dog has her anal glands expressed, I always hold her. Always cost $22.00 today it was $37.00!!when I asked why I was told it was a stage 2 drain. I always hold my dog the same amount came out and same color and smell. Norgate is now very expensive and I really feel now Dr Sidhu has too many customers and will scam those he can.I will go else where. Be prepared for a big bill a long wait and possible a false diagnose.

Switched to Norgate after reading good reviews here and was not disappointed. Dr. Sidhu & staff did a great job of making my dogs (and me) feel comfortable while doing everything possible to get correct diagnoses and implement appropriate & affordable treatments. Dr. Sidhu was very kind & patient with my highly anxious rescue dog. His staff also were sensitive to her special needs. In addition to checkups and shots, I have taken both my dogs here for dental cleaning & extractions, both dogs recovered quickly and are very happy, and so am I! Norgate pays particular attention to post-surgical pain management, very caring, not all vets do this. Any lab tests, Dr. Sidhu calls you personally the next day with results. Facilities clean, bright, and modern. Prices extremely reasonable. Clinic has a cheerful, welcoming atmosphere. Friendly staff take the time to explain medications and answer all your questions. Excellent value for the money. I would recommend Norgate to anyone!

I had no idea Norgate was just located around the corner I live in. But what a great find! Last week my I took my baby out for a walk along the trails. He must've cut himself somewhere. Out of panic, I immediately took him to somewhere nearby, they were busy, really busy. But the staff took me in cuz they saw that my husky was bleeding, nonstop. (Many thanks to the others who were waiting, too, who let me go b4 them :>). Dr. Sidhu and the staff there were so caring despite my baby being quite hostile when touched. Dr. Sidhu said that my baby needed stitches since the wuond was quite deep indeed. I thought it was going to be expensive, but it wasn't. Reasonable costs for great service, all vets should be like this. :> caring, professional yet not pricey

Dr. Sidhu is a superb, caring vet. We took our doggie to him for a second opinion when she appeared to be in pain and had very bad breath. She was quickly dealt with and a broken tooth/exposed nerve found to be the cause. Christine there is wonderful, caring for "moms and dads" as kindly and thoughtfully as she does her patients. These people obviously love animals. As Dr. Sidhu spoke to me, I noticed how he was gently stroking Candy, and his genuine concern that she could be in pain. PLUS, the billing is extremely reasonable! Thank you Dr. Sidhu and Christine for helping our little angel and for your kindness and caring.

Words fail me when trying to describe how kind & compassionate Dr. Sidhu and his staff were when I took my cat there with a fatal illness. I've had far too many experiences with vets who care more about the cheque than the animal and who always recommend expensive tests and treatments. Dr. Sidhu worked out a plan with me, then went way beyond what he'd promised. He genuinely cared about my darling kitty, even though he'd never set eyes on us before.

Our German Shepherd/Lab X puppy was laser spayed at Norgate. They did an amazing job. By that evening she was perky and content. She healed so much faster than everyone else's puppies that were spayed with traditional cutting. Also Norgate's laser spay is comparible in cost to traditional cut spaying at most over priced clinics. At one point out dog started chewing at her incision and we were able to bring her back to the clinic at 11:45 pm so they could repair the wound and there was no fee and no after hours surcharge.
Since the spaying we've continued bringing our dog and other animals to the doctors at Norgate. They've continuously been fantastic in caring for our pets. I would and have highly recommend these doctors to other pet owners.

I was recommended by my groomer to go to Norgate as my dog had a mass on his right back leg.My dog had a mass removed before too but he was in lot of pain after surgery. That vet didn't send him home with pain medication.I had to take my dog twice for resuturing. We had a very bad experience at that time. However at Norgate, they removed mass with laser. My dog was not in any kind of pain after surgery and and it healed pretty good with in one week.I recommend Norgate Animal Hospital to any one.

I have dealt with Norgate ever since they opened. The doctor that I generally see is Dr Gill. He takes the time to sit with you and explain each and everything to you about your pet. If he recommends tests, then it is mostly because my pets need it. He has never forced me into getting something done that my pet does not need. He even went out of his way to consult a specialist at university of saskatchewan to see if it is safe to put my older dog under anesthesia for dental. I will definately recommend Dr Gill and Norgate Animal Hospital to everyone. The service is as good as any other place where it would cost an arm and a leg to just see the veterinarian.

Norgate is most likely an extension of Atlas Animal Hospital (not sure which one is worse). I would NOT bother with Norgate. The receptionist is also the doctor. Vet is stone faced and does not show any emotion or care. Through 15 minutes of "talk", I am unsure how these folks obtain their degrees. Vet seemed clueless as I explained my dog's medical condition. Her english was not great and there may have been a language barrier. She gave me the impression that she could care less and was there only for the $$. Facilities are limited and def. bare bones. Looks like they're ready to get up and leave at any moment. Not sure why these folks keep on opening up vet hospitals... They obviously have NO clue what they're doing and def. don't seem to enjoy it. In all honesty, I was ready to walk out 5 minutes into the examination. I only stayed for the entire session to be polite. Veterinarians def. need to be more regulated and monitored in BC.
