I will never go to another Banfield again. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a vet. I took in a stray cat that I found and had come to love. I was upfront about the fact that I only had a certain amount of money on me at the time. I mentioned this multiple times. I wanted to get the kitty just an FIV test because I was suspicious that he had it. He did. They recommended euthanasia because he was already going downhill. I agreed. Literally a minute or two after my cat took his last breath (and as I was holding him and crying) they brought me the bill. It was over 5 times as much as I had told them I had. I paid what I had (they even wanted the pennies) and couldn't pay the rest for about 5 days. Those days were filled with them hounding me for the $$ and threatening me. They informed me that they were being really patient and were getting fed up with me. I paid the bill. Nearly $300 for an FIV test, being put down, and a garbage bag to carry him out in.
