We've been taking our 3 dogs here for 5 years (and we still go there even though we live in High River now). Our regular vet is Dr. HARBOUR and she is amazing. She genuinely cares about your animal and bends over backwards to find the right tests and treatments to save you money. Our grumpy old lab has chronic health issues that our previous vet couldn't figure out. Dr. Harbour developed a very effective treatment plan and I'll never forget the day she called to let us know that his lab results showed a big improvement. She was so excited that you'd think he was her dog. And thus grumpy old boy absolutely adores her. E also see Dr. Blessing from time to time. She (at no cost) figured out a special diet for our old guy. It has made a huge difference for him too. She also did acupuncture on our other senior dog and it seemed like she was 5 years younger after her treatment. I've been to several vets over the years but I'm staying with these guys forever!

I would highly recommend this clinic. Our senior Golden Retriever was treated with high respect and care. Plus now with our new puppy, Dr. Blessing and Dr. Harbour take an above average time to to talk and discuss questions. Also, alternatives in terms of many aspects seem to be offered, and accommodating the pet owner's different views on feeding, and more. My husband and I feel very comfortable with the care of staff, including reception - who always treated us in a very friendly and professional manner.

I would not recommend this clinic for many reasons. Firstly they do not care about the animal they only care about the money they get for the animal. I speak from experience. I have been coming to this clinic for about 5 years approximately and I finally have come to realize the value of the almighty dollar to this clinic. They even charge for phone calls! For example if you want to get results for tests, or speak to the vet regarding any concerns that you have about treatment that they have given, or any questions you may have about what they have prescribed, they precharge you for a phone call in the amount of $34.65. Who charges for a phone call?
Also, they have given wrong meds which have caused my dog to vomit blood and I was concerned so I called the vet and said could this be the medicine and they stressed NO, very unlikely, proceed with the meds...do not stop them. I didn’t listen because I was sure it was the meds and after googling the medicine I found that it was p

It's a great clinic but it is true that their prices are high. Very high to be honest but I guess you get what you paid for. I am always greeted when coming in, my pets vet is amazing.

We have had many pets/vets over the years and this clinic is by far one of the better ones. We always feel involved in the health of our 3 dogs. We generally see Dr. Blessing but have on occasion seen Dr. Harbour and neither of them have ever rushed us out the door. They have taken the time to fully explain our dog's condition and what our options are without pressuring or judging. They welcome questions and if there is something they are not sure about they research it and get back to us quickly. We moved to this clinic because we were advised by a previous vet that our senior dog would need to be on costly medication for the rest of his life. We did a lot of research on his condition and tried to discuss alternative solutions but the previous vet would not listen. Dr. Blessing listened and with some small diet and supplement changes our senior dog has been doing great for the last 2 years. We highly recommend both of these vets

We can't say enough amazing things about Dr Harbour and the team at Animal Clinic West. We first saw her for a puppy wellness exam and she went over a ton of info with us and answered all of our new puppy parent questions. Then when we had issues with our puppy shortly after bringing her home, Dr Harbour took the time to thoroughly explain all of our options, gave us realistic treatments to get our little puppy feeling better and answered all of our many, many questions. The test results came in on a day she wasn't working and so Dr Cyfra took time out of his day to go over the results with us and provide a plan until we could talk to Dr Harbour the next day. BEYOND happy that we brought our puppy to Animal Clinic West where she's already been taken such good care of. We've seen other vets for other pets in the past and none have ever been as helpful or as supportive as Dr Harbour and the team at Animal Clinic West.

Our senior dog is at the stage in his life where he needs more vetinary care. Dr Jodi Harbour has performed extensive dental surgery on him and is now treating another condition. Our experience at Animal Clinic West has been nothing but positive. Dr Jodi and the staff clearly care about the animals they treat (and their owners). Diagnoses have been accurate and time is always taken to explain them. Dr Jodi always follows up on the treatments. We will continue to entrust our dog's care to Dr Jodi and the clinic, knowing that he is receiving the best standard of care possible.

We are with Dr Joe for 4 years now. Our English bulldog loves him. He is very patient,thorough and he always explains what can be done, the choices we have and he never ever pushes us to do something just to get money out of us. The clinic is clean, very friendly and we love Dr Joe.

I have been coming to this vet for over 25 years. My family has welcomed and said goodbye to pets here. We are proud to recommend this vet to any and all of our friends and family. They have never treated us poorly or overcharged us. The staff has even allowed us to come days after our visit to pay for treatments because I forgot my wallet. The staff has never pushed us into buying anything or forced treatments on us like other vets. The staff know and care about our pets. they call them by name and have never failed to call and follow up. They often give us free services when other places would charge. None of the staff have ever brushed off our concerns. This is a wonderful vet! I'm upset to see that others are not. But please keep in mind Medical Issues of any kind WILL COSTS $$$. try going to an emerge vet on the weekend and then you may complain about cost. The team is warm and welcoming. So long as we live in Calgary we will be going here and we are proud to call this our vet

Once you walk into the clinic, you'll see the greatest value of the clinic. They are very transparent and they will invite you to the back if you want to be present for any of the procedures!

Very caring and helpful staff, my dog had some serious health issues as a puppy and thanks to the care animal clinic west provided she is now happy and healthy. I fully trust the staff at this clinic with the care and wellbeing of my fur baby :)

Great! The staff was fantastic! Polite, happy and genuinely seemed to care about my dog :) I will be returning. I don't know why there is so many poor ratings here - these guys were awesome and we'll be returning!

My experience at this clinic was amazing! I saw the new graduate Dr. Harbour and she was fantastic! She was very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, definitely does not seem like a new grad at all. It was busy around my appointment time so the doctor was a little late, and the facility greatly needs updating but the staff and quality of service make up for it. The doctor, techs and even receptionist were so friendly, gentle with my dog and more than willing to help in any way they could. You can tell that the staff love what they do. The value for my dollar was extraordinary and I highly recommend the doctor that I saw.

Our dog was attacked by a larger dog and suffered several puncture wounds to the back of the neck area. There was no internal damage to any vital organs. We have no complaint with the care the clinic provided. HOWEVER, the bill to treat some puncture wounds came to over TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS! I phoned the vet to complain about the bill. They felt that amount was fair for the care given. I’ve done business with several vets over my lifetime of pet ownership... only switched to this clinic when our previous vet retired. I’m familiar with typical vet bills and have NEVER felt so OVERCHARGED by a vet. We are taking our dog and our business elsewhere.

Had a disappointing experience at this clinic, which involved unneeded procedures and extra bills. Vets have good days and bad days for certain. All the same, I have taken my pets elsewhere.

We have used this vet clinic since 1996 for both cats & dogs. The staff have always been very nice, even sending us a card when our dog died in an emergency clinic elsewhere. We love our regular vet, he listens with an open mind & never talks down to us. He never pushes for unnecessary tests. The other vets have also been good. I can't understand the bad reviews, they just don't reflect our experience over the years.

Dr. Cyfra and Dr. Haakstad are the most unethical, arrogant, condescending veterinarians I have ever met. They almost killed my cat by injecting him with a dangerous cocktail of drugs. All the drugs they gave him were contraindicated for my cat, and one drug was ONLY for dogs. My cat went into kidney failure and almost died. They then charged me a couple thousand dollars to save his life. Of course, they took no reponsibility at all. In fact, Dr. Cyfra told me that the drugs that they gave my cat are not processed through the kidneys. What a manipulator! I would hate to see someone else go through this. Your pet may not be as lucky as my cat was.

My dog was a patient at this clinic for over 3 years. The clinic is small and very old and very dirty. The women were unpleasant and it showed in their work that they did not enjoy working there. Payment first care later. The vet knew I had pet insurance and wanted all the expensive unneeded tests done. Another example of Calgary Greed.
