Absolutely wonderful care for both my dog and my cat. Each of my pets had issues when I adopted them and Brackett St. has been the source of excellent care through the difficult time. My pets love to go to the vet! Who else can say that!

I've been to this vet twice now for my two kitties and each time we received excellent care. The staff were friendly and willing to answer all of my questions and the rates are actually quite reasonable!

I have taken all my animals there and have never had any problem. They are a tad expensive but no more than any other vet. I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else.

I have a rescue dog with anxiety problems. I've brought him there since he was a puppy, and he's never liked it there. I brought him for his yearly shots, and he freaked out. Instead of letting me either muzzle him or take him out for a minute to calm down, they SAT on him. He FREAKED, his heart was racing... it was awful. I brought him in an emergency a couple of months ago with an infection in the flap of his ear that was clearly visible. As soon as we stepped in, he started to panic. The SAME vet JAMMED two fingers into his ear, and then gave me a dirty look when when he got even more upset. I know a couple of other people with "special" dogs who have had similar stories. They're too busy now to take the time to give quality care, and are just rushing. By the way, they misdiagnosed his ear problem, which ended up being a yeast infection that I cleared up on my own with tea tree oil.

The folks at the Brackett Street Vet are wonderful, very kind and campassionate. We have been taking pets our there for years and always found them to be compassionate and caring, plus less expensive than other vets in the area.

I had to offer a "counterpoint" to the two negative comments. As a former cat foster family, we were always/consistantly given excellent treatment both medically and personally by all the staff at Brackett Street. This vet is one of just a couple in the area that would work for peanuts to care for Animal Refuge League creatures that so desperately needed their care. They were especially kind to a very sickly hyperthyroid kitty named Molly that we rescued from the pound-- going "above and beyond" to help us afford her care after we adopted her. Later, as a preschool teacher, I took a group of toddlers there on a field trip (2005) while getting a check-up for our classroom guinea pig. The veterinarian was warm and informative and very patient with the busy group and sent us off with stuffed animals and magnets and an old xray (to borrow) for souvenirs. A very special urban care oasis for critters...

My rabbit ate something he shouldn't have and got a blockage. They removed it surgically and he had a full recovery. It wasn't cheap, but they did an excellent job.

My dog went in to be spayed recently. The cost of the spay was way more than what the estimate was and the vet had left for vacation so she wasn't there to explain the high charges. The woman at the front desk was rude when I tried to ask for more explanation. They also don't keep very good records as I asked for the spay certificate and the rabies certificate and they didn't have it marked down that my dog had her rabies shot even though she did. I was there when it happened. They are not good at communicating with their customers. I was very dissapointed and would not go back there again.

My sister lost two very young animals to them. She took her 2 yr. old, healthy cat in for a scratched eye. They took him back and when they returned him to her he had a seizure and died right before her eyes within minutes. He'd never had a seizure in his life. Also, her dog did have bad seizures. They refused to refill Pheno until blood work in spite of pleading. Their mistake-blood was just done. Dog had major seizure within the week and died because he didn't have medication they knew his life depended on. Many people have told me their own awful stories. Stay away!
