Very disappointed with this organization. My dog Simba was seen my Dr. Degrass 4 years ago. I moved out of the area and my local vet had no appointments so I reached out to this vet and was totally blown off. My dog had some lumps on his neck. I called in and they said send us pictures of my dogs wounds and they would respond by email or phone. They totally ignored me and did not respond and did not care for the well being of my family pet. I will never go here again as they clearly only about money and not the well being of animals in my experience. Very disappointed in your rude secretary and the man who answered the phone said someone would get back to me after I sent the emails which he confirmed he received and they just ignored me. Terribly guys.

Formerly recommended this clinic to all. Now? Not a chance. Vets unavailable. Never follow up. Once you're done appointment with whatever tx recommended consider yourself on your own. Follow up non-existent. Send an email because hey they're busy and can't come to the phone .. you're kidding yourself if you think they'll reply to email with questions about pets current treatment/pills. Complete garbage.

After diagnosing our pet with Cushing's disease, The vet gave the Trilostane treatment to our pet. At that time our pet had already been diagnosed with Stage 2 kidney disease. despite repeated insistence nice from us that we had read that a pet with kidney disease should not be taking Trilostane, and that our pet was decreasing eating and increasing vomiting, the vet reassured us that our pet was alright and should keep taking the medication. In addition they told us that even though Tofu was supposed to be taking 15 capsules, they didn't have it on hand and could only give him 20.
Within 2 months, our pet's kidney values had increased from 200 (stage 2) to over 700 (well over the stage 5 minimum of 500). Complications from his kidney led to liver and pancreas issues, and a gallbladder mucous seal. We brought it our pet to an emergency 24 hour pet care hospital. After one week they were unable to permanently lower his kidney values. He was too weak to endure gallbladder surgery, and

****SECORD UPDATE YOUR FILES****** My little cat died 8-months ago. Yesterday Secord sent me an email advising:We've made taking care of xxxxxx health easier than ever by giving you access to our useful online tools. A sad and painful reminder of her death and COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. A sad excuse for a vet service.

I would never recommend this hospital unless you can get Dr. Mike Cormier himself, RUN, RUN, RUN to another vets. You won’t find care, compassion and empathy at Secord otherwise. For the people who are commenting about the reception staff being friendly – you have absolutely no idea, what they say about you, when you are gone. The two old receptionists should be retired; their toxicity passes along to the other front line staff.

Dr. Mendelson is an extremely competent, caring vet especially for senior pets. She wants to work with you in managing your pets health. At no time is she dismissive or condescending with my barrage of questions and requests for various diagnostics. She is willing to collaborate with colleagues if unfamiliar or difficult to diagnose case. She does not push unnecessary treatments or procedures understanding the fine line between treatment and quality of life for senior pets. Best vet we have had for our elders. Rated staff 3 only because I have to fight with the call center staff to get copies of our dogs tests. Front desk especially Rhonda and vet tech staff are very caring and compassionate.

This clinic has gone above & beyond for me & my pets. The receptionists are friendly, caring & informative. Dr.'s Butler & Fleming display a refreshing openess & genuine interest in my pets health & I trust their advice & knowledge. They explain all procedures & offer all available options. The vet techs are experienced & were able to manage my ANGRY cat when his eye was infected (other clinics have had to sedate him). My other cat has a thyroid condition & Dr. Fleming is excellent at following up with blood work & medication dose changes. We just discovered my one dog has hip dysplasia & a lump in his ear that must be surgically removed. Her exam on him was very thorough & she took extra time to explain the xrays. I never feel rushed out the door at this clinic. Email response time & test result communication is also very quick, same day, same hour sometimes! The only reason I rated 4 for facilities is because they do not have a surgical laser. I strongly recommend this clinic!

Our two dogs used to go to this hospital for their care since they were puppies. We would praise this hospital to everyone. They were simply the best and we trusted them completely. In the last few years though, something has changed that we couldn't quite place our finger on. Perhaps it's because the two of their best Vets, Teeger and Cromier, are less available and hands on and there were new vets and new faces around or maybe their objectives have changed. Anyway, the atmosphere just felt different. Also our experience with their boarding service was pretty bad. Both of our dogs were so thirsty when we picked them up. One had damaged his nose and the other had a rash on the belly and an infection. To top it off, one of the vets (who we've never met) charged us for the meds even though it happened under their care. We no longer live in the area so we're now using another Vet.

I took my dog to Secord when my former vet diagnosed him with terminal cancer and wanted to proceed with chemotherapy, which has a very low success rate in canines. I went to Dr. Sherebrin at Secord as she practices Chinese Herbal Medicine and I wanted to get a second opinion and if nothing else, help him suffer as little as possible with his illness. Dr. Sherebrin was not totally convinced he had cancer and suggested Lyme disease was also a possibility (symptoms were very similar). We treated him for Lyme disease using antibiotics, a home-cooked diet and vitamin therapy and he is now a healthy, happy boy. Her approach is homeopathic in nature and always starts with diet and nutrition over drugs. She saved my boy's life. I love the staff at Secord and they are helpful and pleasant.

We brought our cat in on an emergency basis for treatment of an abscess. We received excellent and timely care from a very professional and friendly team. We required several follow-up appointments due to the nature of our cat's condition and were always able to get an appointment on a short-term (generally same- or next-day) basis. The care was impeccable and the value was excellent. We would highly recommend this veterinary clinic to anyone in the Toronto/North York area.

I've been seeing Dr. Cormier for several years and sadly through several sick ferrets. He's always provided the best care, he is knowledgeable, keeps up to date with the latest treatments and is a highly skilled surgeon. The reception staff is friendly and always greet my pets with a hello and a few scratches when we walk in the door. The only negative I could find is that they can sometimes run a bit late but they also take time when I'm in an appt. to answer each of my questions and don't rush me out before I understand what is going on - I suspect it's their going above and beyond that sometimes puts them behind schedule and I'm happy with that.

I deal with Michael Cormier and i find him to be wonderful and caring. My dog Blue was very old and could not go to the vet due to age-13 years old and leg problems. Michael came to the house to assess him two times and the fee was extremely reasonable. It shows he really cared and that money was not all it is about. Another story is a cat i rescued needed rotten teeth removed-we did not have the funds to pay for this. The verterinary only charged me for the cost-nothing else. To have 12 teeth removed and all the related costs it only cost me $400. that is amazing! Love Michael and Secords. I have 4 pets and they all go to secords and the animals love Michael.

They offer excellent and kind service. The staff is very helpful and they keep me well notified of my dogs health. They are very friendly overall and really care for the animals first and foremost. However, I find them to be on the expensive side. My dog loves the place and is never afraid of the Vet!
