Click to report rating    8/11/18   5     5     5     5   To DR Kato & Staff Thank you for looking after Suger Health From 2005 Till 2018.Dr. Kato is very kind with Sugar even to Sugar end of her life.All the staff kissed Sugar goodbye that will be in my heart till my last breath Sugar past away because of cancer.Sugar lived from May 15th 1998 - April 2nd 2018.If ever I get another cat I will go back to Kato. Unless I'm late I don't have to wait. She only charges for what is needed. Her staff, are all nice and professional and polite. RID: 65630
Click to report rating    11/1/17   5     5     5     4   Thoughtful, great care for my cats. Dr. Kato was especially helpful when our first cat developed untreatable cancer. She has been good at helping our second cat deal with skin allergies and our third, a rescue cat, with food allergies. She will call outside hours with tech results and has a wonderful hand touching and holding all our cats. Very good at explaining all pros and cons of treatments. Have been seeing her for over 14 years. RID: 64974
Click to report rating    9/4/14   5     5     5     4   I have been going to this clinic for at least 20 yrs. Dr Kato is a knowledgable and companionate vet who never pushes her opinions on you. She is always up to date on the latest in veterinary medicine. Dr. Hammond likewise is very knowledgeable and a very skilled surgeon. Dr. Kato always goes the extra mile to find out whatever information you seek. I've had her call me at home at 10:30pm at night with lab results or an answer to a question I had. The latest information has come out saying that cats don't need vaccinating every yr; that every 3 yrs if that is enough except rabies and this clinic concurs. My only complaint is with the cost.. I find the clinic to be a little pricey and the multi cat discount negligible . Other than that this clinic gets an A+ from me. RID: 53386

 8/15/14   1     1     2     1   Wife took our 12 week old Spaniel for his second booster and right away she got the big up-sell with extra shots that our breeder specifically told us he should not have (Lepto and Bordetella). Kato administered 3 shots to a small 12 week old puppy which I know isn't right. Stay away from this vet. RID: 53077
Click to report rating    6/23/14   5     5     5     5   We stick to this clinic because it is the second closest to us, at walking distance, and we can get appointment very soon in case of emergency, not waiting a week as in closest clinic. Staff is friendly, attentive and responsive. Techs are skilled and caring. There was one more reserved and judging, but I don't see him anymore. Vets are as competent as any other doctor would be, better than my own physicians. Certainly attentive and caring, with repeated follow ups, calls and appointment with no charge for examination, appreciate this. Modern medicine heavily relies on diagnostic tests and specialists that are very costly, but clinic's staff is doing their best to help within one's budget. When my cat needs a vet I know that I can get medical attention for him fast and reliably. RID: 52214
Click to report rating    6/3/14   5     4     5     5   Kato saved my cats life after Buzzy was poisoned & then 2 years later Hammond saved my cat's life after he ate too much dry kibble and blocked up with megacolon. Price was better than any other vet I've been to in 23 years. Great vets. Great people. I am soooo Lucky and so is Buzzy. RID: 51940

 11/20/12   1     4     3     2   I brought in my 5 month old dog (maltese/yorkie - very small dog) and the technician acted terrified to touch my dog. He slowly and nervously tried to look at my dogs teeth and my dog freaked out. I had never seen my dog like this. I think because the technician was nervous or scared that my dog felt that way as well. When Dr. Kato came in she pet my dog and touched my dog like how you're supposed to when you love dogs (and your job) and he was completely fine with Dr. Kato. The technician man didn't do any of that!! I went there the following time and again he was there to see my dog (for a nail trim) well obviously that did not go over well. He was asking me to practically restrain my dog because he was so afraid to touch my dog, it was awful. I ended up leaving very unhappy and went to petsmart. It's unfortunate that he ruins it for people to go there because of one person. Now it's time for neutering and their prices are decent. I don't know where to go now. RID: 38599
Click to report rating    10/23/12   1     2     2     1   I took my 18-year old cat to Kato for dental surgery. He was healthy and active, though FIV+. Kato prescribed Clindamycyn, prior to surgery. This antibiotic is known to cause GI issues by killing good bacteria. Many vets only prescribe it WITH a probiotic, they did not at the time. My cat began violent vomiting & diarrhea he never had before. This continues even after 6 weeks, and he has lost weight. I brought him for surgery at 8:00 a.m. Kato did not operate until 3:00 and sent him home after only 4.5 hours in recovery. One vet would prescribe a new med for vomiting, the next one would advise against it. No continuity of care. Patient records were a problem. Some are computerized, others, handwritten. After the 3rd bout of violent diarrhea and vomiting, this time with blood, I called 3 times in one day to speak with Dr. Hammond. I waited all day. She went home without ever calling me back. That's how important my pet was to Kato. I changed vets. My pets deserve better. RID: 38026

Click to report rating    1/6/11   5     5     5     4   I would rate the staff normally a 3, but the one bad apple already left so I will bring it back to a 5. The staff are wonderful. Facilities are great, modern, and clean. Punctuality I can't really rate that, but in my experience I never had to wait past an appointment time. The monetary value... I am not so sure about that. The prices you pay are worth it if Dr. Kato herself is attending to the animal because she is very, very good and won many awards. If it is the others vets, I am not so sure then. But this vet is quite expensive compared to others. Overall a wonderful hospital that I trust. RID: 21825

They are very pushy and try to sell the food and supplies out front. The technition seems like he isactually afraid of dogs, which is not a good thing and the prices and unecessary added expenses to your bill are quite upsetting. The Vet has a great love and compassion for animals, but unfortunately she would do better if the prices weren't so high and if the tech showed more passion for his job. RID: 9073
