Dr. Birk has chosen to allow her personal feelings (upon being 'reprimanded' by long standing client after dog became severely infected and boarded in pee and feces saturated kennel) override the care of my dog. Dr. Birk chose to notate onto clinic's comp. system "inactive" so that I could not purchase any heart-worm preventative meds. from her, or any other avenue- including pets.med.com. The only reason she chose to do this was after I attempted to resolve a very negative experience at her clinic. My dog obtained a severe infection during her short stay for routine spay and boarding at her clinic and also was prescribed the wrong dosage of medicine (2x) by simple weight of dog. She denied that any of this ever happened, would not take accountability, responsibility nor would even acknowledge the numerous times her staff gave conflicting info. over the phone (3x). Very rude, has the "God complex" seen with egomaniac MD's and the like. Avoid this clinic at all costs. She Is retiring!

Our pets have always gone to the St. Joseph Animal Hospital and Dr. Birk. Dr. Birk is a wonderful veterinarian. She is very responsive to the needs of your pet and takes the time to answer your questions. She was also very sympathetic and helped us through a tough time when the dog I'd had since I was a small child had to be put to sleep. The staff is very professional and helpful and the facilities are clean and comfortable. Services are also very reasonably priced. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a new vet.
