This is a really good clinic. The staff are always super friendly and ready to help anyway they can. COVID has made things a bit harder, but I was able to still make an appointment and see my doctor.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Dr.Chong & Dr.Mueller for the kindness & care of our loving family pet Maggie who was very sick & passed away on Aug.22nd.All the staff at this clinic are all very caring & thoughtful.I would certainly recommend this clinic to anyone who needs one for their pet or pets.

Dr. Tim Maarhuis of Cottonwood Veterinary Clinic recently caused the very disturbing death of my beautiful, healthy, 8 yr old Bouvier des Flandres through surgical negligence. A misdiagnosed tumor led to life threatening negligence that resulted in Abby bleeding to death over 14.5 hrs while still under veterinary care. Please know that he is not prepared to provide your pet the critical care they could need if faced with a surgical and/or post surgical emergency. My beautiful girl is gone and it was Dr. Maarhuis who stole the light and joy from our souls and left my heart broken and home empty. My wife and I are lucky to have found Dr. Maarhuis and Cottonwood Veterinary Clinic, and can't recommend him highly enough. After our first visit a year ago, we knew we had found the best vet for our pets. He takes the time to thoroughly explain potential causes and treatment options for a pet's health issues, and does so in a way that is easy to understand. He is very patient, and we've never felt rushed during an exam. His prices are extremely reasonable, and his staff is friendly and helpful.
Dr. Maarhuis is a kind and compassionate person, and we appreciate the way he handled the diagnosis, care, and (ultimately) passing of our beloved cat back in March. It was extremely difficult, but he helped us to make an informed decision after the cat took a turn for the worse, and was very caring when it was time for us to put him to sleep.
We have a dog as well, and are grateful for the excellent care he receives. We wouldn't take him anywhere other than Cottonwood Veterinary Clin

I have been bringing my dogs to this vet clinic since 2010, when we first moved to Chilliwack. Any diagnosis, treatment or surgery my dogs have recieved from them has solved the problem, and healed nicely. I always recieve a thorough explanation of what was completed and any medications or follow ups that must be done which also gives the opportunity to ask any questions as well. The price I have paid has always fallen under the amount I was quoted. I am also a breeder and bring all my puppies in for check overs, vaccines and microchips. I always feel confident with their thorough check overs that all my pups are in good health prior to going to new homes. In my opinon - it is important to establish a relationship with your vet - both Dr. Selander and Dr. Maarhuis are always receptive and knowledgable in any opinions I have needed. You cannot put a price on thoroughness and quality, especially when your pets are a family member!

awesome clinic. It makes me mad that people use this site to complain unjustly. Remember there is more than one side to every story and that little bull dog puppy is so lucky to have those girls to love and take care of her! Dr. S is great. I get a 30 min appointment and they always call to check up on my pets! A great place!!

I am very unhappy with this vet, they can take your money, but there service sucks !! I am very unhappy with the service we got and will never go back !! This vet is all about taking your money, but not doing the job you are paying him to do. That poor cute bulldog in the cart, well read the comment below, she is in a cart for a reason.

took a beautiful healthy 8 week old puppy infor 1st shots at 8 weeks old..check up was excellent..came home from vets office at 5 in afternoon ...by morning my puppy was paralized..it had slept in room with other little puppy not even its mother..they are trying to tell me puppy ws insured at my home...I AM POSITIVE IT HAS TO DO WITH THE SHOTS AT THEIR OFFICE THE DAY BEFORE.I AM BROKEN HEARTED...MY PUPPY WILL HAVE TO BE PUT DOWN AND NO ONE WILL HELP ME..THEY TOLD ME i CAN GO TO ANOTHER VET NOW THAT I HAVE A PAEALIZED PUPPY....i will be happy to up date this with some good news if they will help me fix this poor little dog

I have taken my Charlie to Dr. Selander from the time I first brought him home. We bought him in Langley and he has benn a sick puppy from the get go. All I have to do is phone and the girls make room for him every time. They treat my dog with as much love and kindness as he gets at home. I would recommend Cottonwood clinic to anyone who really loves their pet. They have even gone so far as to call me on a regular basis after any visit there to see if Charlie is doing well and if I have any concerns at all. They even ask after my well being when he gets sick because they care about him as much as I do and they understand the stress you are under. OUr Charlie lives them and so do we

Have had my dog in twice, excellent service, costs are competitive compared to other vets that I have been to and they do not always charge for follow ups. They always called to check on my dog which is very much appreciated. Highly recommend them.

Check your invoices carefully, and don't anticipate that they'll stick to their verbal quotes. No complaints about the vet techs, but the office manager needs to go back to working at the carnival. I've only dealt with Dr. Selander, who is conscientious & professional, but the way Dr. Maarhuis runs his clinic is a joke. Bring LOTS of money if you're compelled to go to this clinic, and still expect to pay more. At my job, I bill 180 hourly, and if I give a bad quote to a client, I absorb the loss. Apparently, it's not the way things are done at this veterinary clinic. Two times in a row (that I've noticed), I've been billed for additional services I've not approved of, nor been made aware of until receiving the invoice. While some discrepancies were adjusted, both invoices were still well above the quote given on the phone. I've spent thousands here and will miss taking my pets to see Dr. S, but not so much that I'm willing to pay sucker taxes. BRING MORE MONEY.

This is the only place in town that will see rodents. I've taken my hamster (that has since passed away) there and they didn't push anything on me, told me what to expect and didn't charge anymore than $75 for the visit plus antibiotics. Now I have 3 rats and they're just as helpful, even calling around to the local stores to see if they had a particular food in stock even though they were understaffed. Very nice, helpful and not pushy at all.

quoted me an outrageous amount than told me to me if i couldn't afford that they could amputate or put or down. she's a puppy. put her down as an option.. REALLY... worst vet ever and i will spread the hate. rating on both listings that's how irate i am with their services

The Dr's and support staff are so incredibly compassionate and caring.They really helped me make the best decisions for my pets in particular our dog when he was so very sick. Dr. Selander really went far beyond the call of duty and treated him like he was her own pet. My grandbabies and I are so very grateful.

I'm really fussy about my vets and have been seeing Tim for years. He's a great vet! Hate to say that I miss his old staff. His new staff is good, but I liked his old staff better.

Professional Staff; super clean facilities; appointments are always on time. Good value for money. So impressed with the overall good care of our furry friend! Dr.Tim takes lots of time to explain everything, and was welcoming of our kids at the exams - explaining things to them as well. Great care and follow up phone calls! Office staff are accommodating and understanding. Couldn't ask for a better clinic! Thank you :)

I had brought my little rodent in the female vet took a look at my rodent cause he slept off his running wheel got his paw stuck into the corner frame of it.the poor little thing had no feelings,nerve damaged etc but no broken bones I had a choice of putting him down or surgery they wouldn't allow me to make a call to parents they said for me to make a choice but I couldn't by that time I had both vets on me pushing me to make a decisions so I said surgery the poor thing had to have his shoulder taken off (BIG MISTAKE!)couple days later I took him back to have the stitches looked at the assistant came out to take him to the back room, there they gave him a shot of pain meds as well as sedation (without my permission) he already had his pain meds at home before he came to the vets. I came back home with him with in an hour he passed away. I'm a love of pets I know he could of made it! I received nothing from them except a bill of $7oo. They were nice enough to take off $100. NOT HAPPY!

Took my cat to this vet once and as she was classified as "fine" I took her home and when, two weeks later, I took her to another vet they told me her liver had basically shut down and there was nothing that could have been done at that point. I asked if it could have been prevented if I brought her to them two weeks ago and they said that they would have liked the odds at that point.

The clinic is clean and professional, the staff is helpful, the vet I saw was knowledgeable, though he seemed very over-tired and when I came back the next day with the same pet, he didn't even remember me, maybe he has lots of patients. Its a decent clinic though I had my dog fixed there, and he recovered fine and they gave me pain meds to take home for him.

I got him as an emergency vet on a sunday and he was excellent. Very caring and very thorough. Would recommend him anytime.
