Click to report rating    2/1/15   3     1     1     1   Staff is okay but when did ripping people off become part of their creed. They leave you waiting even though there is no one there and the bill is ridiculous even for emergency. How do you justify charging 24 DOLLARS for a head cone and 53 dollars to trim nails. They were a much better place when they had a smaller place down telegraph before all they cared about was dollars. Their cardiologists had me doing ultrasounds every 6 months for my cars heart condition. Another specialists said my cats heart was fine. Lived to be 16 without any heart problem. So believe what the others say they will invite things to charge you. This last visit was ridiculous even for them. I will drive to the other emergency. RID: 55722
10/9/12   1     1     1     1   The review I wanted to write went over the max characters allowed so I'll be brief. OVRS is a highly unethical establishment that will harm your pet in order to make money. They prey on innocent animals and desperate pet owners willing to do anything to help a beloved member of the family. To come to the realization that there are not only regular people out there that would hurt an animal, but vets...to make money...it's just sickening. What they do here is create new problems to "treat" while putting your animal's well being in danger. I'm not sure how this place is still in business. RID: 37715
5/1/12   5     5     5     5   If I could rate OVRS with a 10 I would. I have been bringing my 10 year old toy poodle rescue for the last two years. Poor Dweezle has so many medical problems that my local vet was uncomfortable caring for him and recommended that we go to the clinic. Yes, it is more expensive then a neighborhood clinic but this is a group of specialists and you would expect to pay more. We have two wonderful specialists, Dr. Becker and Dr. Gearhart plus several visits through the emergency clinic. All the staff; doctors, technicians and the folks in the office are caring, professional, and helpful. When I leave him for an all day glucose curve I am comfortable knowing that he will have human interaction, not stuck in a cage for hours. The doctor spends as much time as I need to explain all test results and my local vet and I receive a written report after each visit. Thank you so much OVRS staff. RID: 33940
Click to report rating    10/18/11   5     5     5     5   This is the facility to use when your pet needs emergency or specialty veterinary care. I've taken several pets here for emergencies and I've found the staff to be very compassionate and knowledgeable. The specialist that worked with my dog called my regular vet to keep him updated and my vet called for updates as well. RID: 28409
Click to report rating    5/4/11   5     5     5     5   Of course, specialist and emergency vets are expensive! That is why it is a good idea to get pet insurance. That being said, it is an absolute comfort to know that OVRS is always there for my pets when I need them. Not only does OVRS have a friendly, compassionate staff, but it has the very best doctors. It is a comfort to know that if one of my pets is ill, he or she can be treated by the emergency staff at night, and then transferred to one of the highly qualified specialists. My cat had to be hospitalized for over two weeks, and had a major surgery. OVRS saved his life. OVRS was also the one hospital to provide another pet, with pancreatitis, a plan to prevent further bouts. Dr. Rice is excellent, and Dr. Becker, an internal medicine specialist and cardiologist, is the very best. I have never met any professional who cares so much about what he does. I have to move out of state soon, and I just wish I could take OVRS and Dr. Becker with me! RID: 24793
Click to report rating    7/31/09   3     5     3     1   VERY Expensive! Plan on paying almost double for many services. Anesthesia here was $83 more per hour than at my regular vet. A lab report sent out to the same lab (at Michigan State University) was $85 at my regular vet, but $125 at OVRS. The care seems good, but be prepared to have extremely large bills. RID: 13681
Click to report rating    7/9/08   2     3     4     1   I took my dog there because he had an ear infection and was limping. $900.00 Later and an estimate for a $3000.00 surgery. My dog dropped dead as they were bringing him to the front door for me to pick him up. I had to pay $900.00 for services from that day and $600.00 to have my dog buried. I did not know that taking my dog there would end his life and they deny that they did anything wrong. RID: 9241
