Can't say enough great things about Dr. Martins and his amazing staff! For YEARS they have been our "go to" reliable, fair, considerate, level-headed, knowledgeable, practical, fun friendly, thorough, kid-friendly, compassionate, thoughtful, professional animal doctors of choice! Ranging over the years with several different speciies, with all ages of clients in our family, encountering many different health and behavioral issues we have NEVER been disappointed! No problem has ever been too big or too small. We could not be happier. Their knowledge of "fear free" and moto to give each client the best, most comfortable experience to keep the pet (and owner) stress free is the B*E*S*T! Highly Recommend without any doubts.

Will not be my first choice in the future, they seem to talk a good game, however money is thier priority, not the proper care or correct diagnosis. Make sure you get a second opinion.

If you have unlimited money and can spend any amount on your pet - they will give you great care. If you are middle class you might want to rethink going here. They are not upfront with their prices - and will price gauge you. For example - they quoted me $500.00 for a tooth cleaning for our dog. During the procedure they called and said they needed to extract a molar - and that would be another $200.00. I agreed to that (of course). But when they called to say he was done they told me the cost was $850.00. I am very disappointed because I feel I can no longer trust them with my animal's health. I love my dog, but I will find another vet that I can trust. My recommendation is find another vet.

Belle Mead Animal Hospital provides our community with so much! Dr. Martins, Dr. Somjen and the other vets offer superior care for our beloved companions. They're kind, compassionate, & extremely knowledgeable. They're informative as to how to take preventative measures keeping our pets healthy & helping them in times of need. The support staff and vet technicians, out-do themselves in offering excellence too! Having a plethora of pets I appreciate all their help since moving to the area. This practice has also allowed my daughter to gain valuable volunteer and working experience while preparing for Vet School. They made her feel a welcome addition to their Hospital family! So when I say their compassion for animals is real I refer to in front and behind the scenes. Their dedication & compassion expands into our community. They have made a point to help out various rescue & other community groups making this practice truly an outstanding resource and superior veterinarian practice.

Over the years I have been to many animal hospitals and Belle Mead Animal Hospital is by far the best. Each staff member genuinely cares about the animals. They are passionate about their jobs and they do everything they can to make the clients feel comfortable. Each staff member, from the vets to the front desk staff, are extremely helpful and friendly. I recently have been volunteering at the hospital, which allows me to see a different side to the hospital. I see how each staff member interacts and cares for each animal. The compassion is unbelievable and the facility is always clean! I would highly recommend this animal hospital!

I have the utmost confidence in the veterinary team at the Belle Mead Animal Hospital. They are caring, compassionate individuals who not only listen to my concerns, but offer sound advice with regard to my pets’ health issues every time I visit. During the 10+ years that I have been a client, I found the doctors to be experts in the diagnosis and treatment of the various health conditions affecting my cats, from kittens through their senior years. Dr. Martins is a highly skilled surgeon, and I know through my experience with him that my cats are in good hands if or when a surgical procedure is necessary. The staff there has always left me with the impression that they have the animal’s best interest in mind, and I would not consider taking my pets anywhere else. The costs have been reasonable, the care excellent. They are an AAHA accredited facility. I researched this, and the standards are high.

All they want is MONEY. they overcharge, extra medicate, do not call back in timely manner, call for extra and often uneccessary tests, guilt you into medicating your dog by saying "if it were my dog, I would medicate"; will not verify prescriptions over phone to any outside pharmacy unless it is their Vetcentric online pharmacy which overcharges and the profits go to the vet. There should be "Stark Laws" for vets like Medical Doctors that cannot dispense and sell medications at their office for major profits. Only honest and caring vet is Dr. Somjen.

Took my animals here for several years. One of them had surgery for cancer and after the procedure (which cost nearly $700) the doctor said it appeared he didn't have cancer. Was also treating another one of my animals for the same condition with monthly injections that were very expensive. Upon leaving that practice and going to another vet the same animal had a clean bill if health and proceeded to live for many years before succumbing to old age! Needless to say I was horrified and have wondered ever since if my one animal really required the surgery, or if it was a money making ploy!

We have a shelter dog that needed medical attention. The shelter arranged payments with Belle Mead. The dog had major surgery and no one called to see how she was. They later told me the biopsy didn't show anything and would be rechecked. They then had to treat some swelling near the incision and told us they were getting authorization from the shelter to give us antibiotics. Three days later, I called to follow up. No one called back and we kept calling until the vet spoke to us a full week after the visit - no meds yet. I asked about the biopsy recheck (same results) and what to do next since there was still no diagnosis. When I expressed frustration with unreturned calls and re-explaining the entire situation every time I call (even though they've talked to me a dozen times in the past month) they didn't even apologize. After I asked them to fax records to the shelter, the vet reviewed the biopsy report again and said it DID show something. Very poor service and higher prices.

I made an apt. to met "doctor" marks. did research and word of mouth. so my dog and I went to met him and take a look at the facility. he carried him around the entire time. and he really made me feel that i finally found a vet who really cared. said they try not to give to much medication try to do things holistic. what a lie. I dropped him off in the morning with another dog that was getting a dental. they called me at 6 said he was ready. the dog that got dropped off the same time ran around all happy. i waited for 2 hours before they brought my dog out. they said they had an emergency that may have been true but i highlty goubt it. they finally brought him out his front legs from the shoulder down wss nothing but big bruises. he couln't even stand. i was screamed at the tech. what have you done to him. they had everyone leave with atleast 3 meds if not more. for 2 days he was out of if and growling at me. it took that vet a week to calll me****i called every day. the worst vet

Way over priced! I payed $45.00 for a rabies shot, other vets. charge $25.oo. I asked plenty of questions before having my dog spayed about the pricing. They claimed other Vets. add things on at the end and that you will pay much more then they quoted. To my suprise when I picked my dog up they added fees on for pulling teeth, which no one ever mentioned to me or was it OK. This was never stated on the paper paper work I signed before surgery. I have called around and found out its less $ to spayed at other top rated vets. in the area. I was also charge a extra $90.00 for blood work not included in the spaying price. In puppies all blood test are not perfect, so why do it??? The staff does not follow up on filing your insurance claims. You have to be on top of them. They act like you are bothering them. (2 of them are nice.) I wonder how many people have had extra fees added to their bills and did not know. I will say, I love Dr. Wood. She is kind and gentle with your animals.

The front desk staff is great but it seems to take forever from when you leave the vet room to when you can pay your bill. Dr. Somjen is great. Doesn't over order tests, listens to clients concerns and opinions. Would definitely recommend but you need to have time to get through checkout.

These guys saved my dog's life. My previous vet had diagnosed my dog with having blood in his abdomen due to cancer and recommended euthanasia. I brought him to Belle Mead on the recommendation of a friend, figuring I had nothing to lose. The doctors recommended doing an ultrasound, diagnosed a tumor on his spleen, and explained it could be removed. I was floored that my other vet didnt even mention an ultrasound! We had his spleen removed and he is still with is, thanks to the wonderful doctors there. They had an excellent bedside manner, taking the time to calm my anxiety, and explain everything to me, and without pressuring me into anything. They even gave me a tour of the hospital, which might I add, is an excellent facility. I would recommend this hospital to all of my friends and family.

The front desk staff are friendly and the vets very compentent.I do feel they need to keep the place cleaner, floors dirty and hair everywhere, doesn't have that clean smell a hospital should have. the prices seem to always go up, and vets don't tell you the price before the procedures. I never realized bloodwork cost so much!

Don't get back to you in a timely manner. Do not have overnight care for major surgeries. I wouldn't trust the technical staff with my animals under any circumstances.

I bring my guinea pigs here. The exotics vet is very nice. Not completely up on guinea pig care, but better than the average vet. They also don't charge outragious prices.

this veterinarian almost killed my cat by giving her an antibiotic that causes dangerous side effects in cats and completely misdiagnosed her illness. IF I had not removed her from their care and placed her in another veterinary facility, she would have died from the side effects being caused by the antibiotics.
