Click to report rating    4/12/18   5     5     5     5   I like the new changes at the clinic. The staff is friendly and seem to genuinely care. House calls are a great option too which they offer. RID: 65932

Click to report rating    1/11/17   1     1     1     1   I wrote the review back in 2011 about how they treat pet owners. I got a phone call from the place that was helping us out with free spaying through this clinic, because the vet told them I wrote the review and they threatened to stop offering the free spay/neuter clinic. They couldn't handle a negative comment because it was the truth. I was treated like absolute trash when I went in there because I went through the free clinic. I don't know if ownership has changed or anything but I would not suggest ever going here . RID: 62342

Click to report rating    3/30/13   1     1     5     1   This hospital lacks updated diagnostic equipment such as EKG, Ultrasound equipment etc. They often put cats under anesthesia for an abscess wound cleaning which is much more invasive and expensive than ANY other veterinary hospital I have been to for that same problem. They often keep geriatric organ failure animals, which are hopeless cases, in the hospital for a week just to charge the owners thousands of dollars then put the animal down. The doctor's time is more important than the pets' well-being and the doctor will demand very traumatizing restraint methods or sedation to get the job done "faster" instead of going slower and giving the animal a break which would be better for the animal and get the job done. If the hospital messes up an x-ray, the owners are still charged for the mess up. There are many things wrong with the management of this hospital. Do not go to this hospital. RID: 41413
Click to report rating    12/6/12   1     4     5     1   This clinic does not take responsibility for staff mistakes. After $800 in a week for every possible charge you could receive as to administering medications and for exam fees on top of hospital day and night fees, I do not believe is necessary to charge and exam fee when the animal has already been in their care for 12 hours. I will never EVER recommend this clinic to anyone for the simple fact that my kitten could possibly loose a limb due to their mistakes. Accidents happen but not multiple times. RID: 38906
Click to report rating    8/13/12   1     1     1     1   Super Rude. Receptionist/Technician starting with an M very demanding over the phone with time needed to be there. Pretty sure she mocked me when I arrived late to an appointment. Even though I did my best to get there. Very unsupportive. And, all about the money. After five minutes of feeling around my pet, we have to take him to the hosptial. Here's an estimate for $800-$1000 for us to find out what's wrong and we need $600 up front NOW. Ended up going to an Emergency Clinic which was a thousand times better and they found out what was wrong with simple warning signs and a sonogram, all under $200. RID: 36476

Click to report rating    5/7/11   5     5     5     5   I have used the Alfred Waterboro Veterinary hospital for 3 years, and I have always been satisfied with the care the doctors and staff provided my cats. They are very careful and always treat my fearful cat with respect. RID: 24855
Click to report rating    5/4/11   5     5     4     5   I am happy to say that I go to this veterinary hospital. From the first day I walked in the door my dog was welcomed and now actually pulls me up the stairs to the door. She is always greated with smiles and plenty of attention. The doctors are knowlegable and always take the time to explain things to me in a way that I can understand. My dog looks forward to seeing the staff and I always enjoy the friendly banter that goes on between clients and the staff. I would recommend them to anyone. Great facility, staff, and doctors!!! RID: 24801
Click to report rating    4/23/11   1     1     1     1   HORRIBLE VET. I have already warned people I know to NEVER bring their animals there. They treat animals well BUT are NOT nice to the owners. They don't think before they speak and are unprofessional in their treatment of the pet owners. Dr. Brewster is NOT family friendly in my opinion. Go there at your own risk. i for one will NEVER go there again. And i hope they take notice that this is not the only bad review they have. There's a reason for that, think about it and CHANGE. RID: 24576
Click to report rating    3/26/11   1     1     1     1   we brought our 16 yr. old cat in to be put down and Mr. Brewster said "this goes against everything I believe".Unreal!complete lack of compassion. All they see are dollar signs. Stay away from this horrible place. RID: 23866
Click to report rating    1/19/07   4     5     4     4   My family has had many pets over the years (at least 10) and all have been or are patients of Dr. Brewster. We never had a bad experience with his practice. I just had to put down a dog last week due to serious illness and the staff was very supportive and explained her condition to us in a very easy to understand manner. The office has always been available to us during urgent issues (same day) and always has been able to get us an appointment within days of calling for routine issues. RID: 2082
Click to report rating    1/18/07   4     4     4     4   Dr. Brewster is a very knowlegable doctor who has excellent surgical skills. Most clients don't understand the rising costs involved in providing a high level of care to animals. Dr. Brewster uses the best quality of equipment available and being a former employee of Alfred-Waterboro Veterinary Hospital I can be confident in saying that his medical skills are very good. RID: 2076
Click to report rating    1/17/07   1     2     2     2   I was very disappointed with this vet facility. We took our dog there for skin issues - he ended up with diabetes and then went blind within several months. Although I'm sure there was no way of predicting that this would happen, the lack of concern was awful. At no time did the vet call and apologize or explain - never asked how the dog was doing or offer to help in any way. We took him elsewhere. Since this incident I've heard several other stories of insensitivity. RID: 2040
Click to report rating    11/29/06   4     4     4     4   Alfred Waterboro Vetinary Hospital meets all of my exepectations as a verterinary clinic while being close to home. I have had no problems with them. I have found the service to be punctual and the fascilites to be very clean, both of which are high priority for me in a Veterinarian. And I found the Doctors to be very professional and knowledgable. I have not felt overcharged for services rendered. RID: 981
Click to report rating    11/16/06   1     2     2     1   This practice has lost sight of its obligation to heal and care for animals. Their primary goal is to generate as much profit as possible out of every patient visit. This vet orders numerous expensive tests making little sense other than to keep the anxious pet owner returning with hope that tests may answer the question as to a pets ailments. Tests performed by this vet were many times more expensive than other local vets and many charges such as a $4.50 biohazard disposal fee for a single hypodermic syringe were absolutely unheard of with other veterinary practices. Alfred Waterboro Veterinary performs minimal hands on veterinary care favoring more costly testing where relatively inexpensive tests for the veterinarian can create large net profits after price markup is passed on to the pet owner. Consumer-Watchdog urges all pet owners using Alfred Waterboro Veterinary as their veterinarian to analyze your bills and check prices of other vets in your area. RID: 742
