Not a bad practice although they could not figure out what this skin rash on my dog was after bringing her in their twice. My next visit was suppose to be a biopsy which i'm assuming is a pretty expensive procedure. However, I went to Belle Mead Animal Hospital on a friends referral and they correctly diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes. The rash was gone in a week. No plans on going back to Harlingen anytime soon.

Chris Newman's team used to be great 10 years ago. Now, her practice has gotten sloppy and cocky and they charge a FORTUNE. They will recommend exotic procedures for thouseands of dollars on a pet who would best be euthanized. And forget if you ask them to prescribe something simple for your pet without an office visit... all they see are dolar signs, and the care has gone downhill.

Dr. Newman's associate Dr. Rippberger misdiagnosised and over medicated my beloved pet. Dr. Newman neglected to inform me that it would be in the best interest of my pet to have her transferred to a critical care facility. After several days at the animal hospital I had my dog transferred to RBVH where they made a accurate diagnosis. Unfortunately the end result was euthanasia. Dr. Newman's lack of information was totally inhumane and my poor animal suffered longer than she had to. Client's beware that unless you are and aggressive owner she has no real interest in your animal except the monies she can make from treating them.

I have been using Dr. Newman for my greyhounds for over 7 years. She as well as all her staff are excellent, caring people. I do not hesitate to recommend her. Many rescue groups use her as their "resident" veterinarian.
