After pre-arranging a payment plan with us (who have been going there for 15 years) for $150 total, they denied giving our cat medication for its eye. This is our second visit there for the issue. So for $500 to fix an eye.I guess they care more about the money because it will take us 3 months to pay this off so the clinic is aware our cat is suffering for 3 months. And they asked about finances and why they were bad and were humiliated in front of other patients! And all over office posters claiming they have high prices because they have student loans. I guess they are the only ones with bills.Bottom line: they care more about the money than my cat and it's pain when they didn't fix the problem the first time around. Disgusting practice. Look around, you can find the same care for much better prices. Already talked to a great vet on Welland Ave. that is much more client friendly and willing to work with us. Martindale Animal Clinic is about the money and this proves it.

We found our experience here extremely disappointing. Service was mediocre and phenomenally more expensive than other licensed and reputable vet clinics in the region. Their business model is to perform high-pressure services that use guilt and fear tactics to get you to spend more. The clinic staff is evasive and patronizing, and they were less than willing to hear of our concerns when we spoke to them about the prices we have paid for their services. Each time we visited the clinic for a pre-scheduled appointment, we were forced to wait a half hour before our pet was even seen. All answers to our concerns seemed well-rehearsed, as if they had been confronted with similar concerns many times before. We would recommend that anyone who cares for their pets and for their pocketbooks to never walk through the door of this establishment.

Changed to Martindale because previous vet could not offer services needed...dental. Now my other cat needed attention. Excellent and friendly drs and staff. Explained everything even showing labs and X-rays, diagnosis, treatments, costs, and follow up has been amazing. Always willing to listen and work with me.Yes, a bit more expensive than last vet but provide so much more. ????

I have taken all of my dogs and cats to Martindale Animal Clinic for more then fifteen years. I would never even consider taking my precious family members to anyone else. ! Recently, my right year old Border Collie experienced her first seizure and I was scared to death! I called and told them what was happening and they told me to bring her right in. They took us right away and gave her a very thorough examination and the doctor explained everything as she went along. I was very impressed to discover the doctor who saw her knew her entire medical history even though she had never seen that particular doctor before. I was given lots of choices as to how to proceed and had all of my questions answered. We left feeling very reassured. I am happy to report my dog is doing very well now. I wil always be greatful for the exceptional care my pets get at Martindale Animal Clinic.

The business model is all wring. When you have four vets in one location you know where the emphasis will be--more toward the billing as opposed to the well being of your pet.

Dr. McGill and all of her staff have always treated all of our pets as if they are their own. I appreciate how thorough each visit is and I leave the clinic confident our dog is getting the best possible care. Every procedure and medication is explained to me so I understand and agree on treatment. I also appreciate the high quality of the facility and equipment and the attention to many details to make our pets as comfortable as possible. Thank you Dr. McGill.

Stuck up snobs!! I walked in and walked right out when seeing what a rip off they were. Bad service and greedy place! No way! You don't get the privilege of seeing my pets! And for having such a past that it has, they should be begging for customers, not being stuck up snobs.

I have had pets all my life and have been to many different vets. Like most things in life, you get what you pay for. This veterinary clinic is about the best I have been to. The service is wonderful, they explain everything very well to me and give me all the options. As I am a senior on a pension, I find them to be respectful of my financial situation. The girls are very sweet and helpful. They have even gone out of their way to come to my house and pick up my pet when I couldn't drive, or drop off medications and food. I would recommend them to anybody.

I would like to publicly thank the doctors and staff at Martindale Animal Clinic. I recently went through a rough time with my dog, he was very ill and we didnt think he would make it. Each veterinarian held my hand every step of the way through his illness and treatment. The staff called me to give updates while he was in their care, they called me at how he to check how he was when he was released, they genuinely care. It is evident that this is not just a job. As pet owners we have no choice but to place our trust in the hands of our veterinarian when our pets are sick. Its reassuring to know there are people and places like Martindale to turn to. They are care givers, and in the end, they are friends. Thank you Dr. McGill, Dr. Bailey, Dr. Williams and Dr. Barnes for helping me through the most difficult period of my life. Words cannot express my gratitude. Kindest regards, Carol Eaton

I have been to a number of clinics since moving to the Niagara Region from Toronto. I really enjoyed my visit to this clinic. The staff was friendly and courteous. I was offered chocolates and a drink during my short wait. The Vet I dealt with took the time to explain my treatment plan and options including pricing. The front desk staff was extremely knowledgeable with payment options, dietary needs and treatment schedules. I found the pricing to be equivalent with others in the region. The clinic itself was very clean and busy. Probably a good sign, to me that demonstrates repeat business. I was surprised that the clinic was open until 7pm. Most of the clinics I have been to close earlier than that. Another positive. I don't have anything negative to say at this point. My dog "Austin" received excellent care and I was treated well which is all I ask!

I had a bad experience with my previous vet and researched a lot of different veterinarians prior to choosing this one. I called one morning when my cat was really sick and asked if I could bring her in that morning. They took the time to listen to me over the phone and booked me in an hour later. I could not believe the difference in the caring staff. From the moment I brought in my cat I felt that each and every member was compassionate and loved what they do. Dr. McGill spent a great deal of time reviewing my cat's history and sought out all her past medical records so she could get a clear history of what my cat had been through. She didn't suggest unnecessary tests. Once she had a plan she has worked with me to try and find a solution to her illness. She even gave me her email so that I could contact her with all my questions and keep her updated with my cat's progress. This added touch goes above and beyond any animal care I've ever had. I highly recommend and trust this clinic!

I have been going to Martindale Animal CLinic since 1998. Over the years the
clinic has grown larger and new staff have joined but everyone always
recognizes me and my pets. The entire team seems to genuinely love what
they do and it shows. I am always confident that the Doctors are thorough
and listening to my concerns, they explain things well, give me options and
help me decided on the best care for my pets that fits in my budget. Vet
Care is never cheap anywhere, but at least at Martindale Animal Clinic I
know I am getting the best care in return. Thank you for all the years of
care!

My dog recently was diagnosed with pancreatitis and was seen by Dr. McGill at Martindale Animal Clinic. I was amazed at how professional she was as well as her staff and they were able to fit me in for my appointment within a couple of hours. The blood tests confirmed her suspicion and her team jumped in and started him on IV and other medications and saved his life. I am eternally grateful and recommend Martindale Animal Clinic to everyone I know. Keep up the GREAT work!!!!

Dr. Bailey helped me tremendously with my cat. She was 15 years old, and was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Dr. Bailey helped walk the through every step, every episode, and eventually helped me say goodbye with the time was right. The entire staff is caring, compassionate and sensitive.

I have been a "patient" (with my 2 elderly cats) of Dr. Bailey at Martindale for more than 2 years now. Dr. Bailey is simply the most knowledgeable, caring and decent vet I have ever had over the 20 years I have had pets. Martindale's staff are like extended family; I have called them in emergency situations, and they have always agreed to see me even without any advance notice. The staff follows up, explains all procedures and Dr. Bailey's instructions, and they deal with my endless questions with caring, and expertise. I come from Toronto where I had 3 different vet clincs over the years and this is the first one I can say without reservation is the most competent, caring and supportive. My dear cat Sabine died this year and Martindale was the first to acknowledge my loss, and offer comfort. They even tried to help me find another kitten as a compannion to Sabine's brother. I can't say enough about them - except that I am grateful they are there, and my cats are in their care.

An excellent clinic! I found the reception desk courteous, making me feel welcome. The doctor was professional, patient with all my questions and explained everything to me to make sure I knew all the options available to make the proper decision. All in all a very pleasant experience. I felt like family, not a client!

Recently we adopted an injured dog that was brought to this clinic. The staff was incredibly caring for this little girl who was just 3 months old when she arrived on their door step, even asking if we would wait until she was totally healed befofe se took her home, one of the staff members took the dog home every night to ensure she was safe from further injury. I was impressed with the level of care and concern for this animal, money was not a concern of theirs at all. We were invited to visit with the dog and get our children involved in the process as well, the kids (3&5 years of age) loved it. All the follow-up visits were as enjoyable with prompt service. We could not ask for better care for our new family member.Special thanks go Jackie for being such a great “Foster Mom” and Marianne for the late night assistance with the bandages. I would be proud to refer anyone to this place of care. Annie is getting on wonderfully and has brought great joy to our home. Thank you so much. AN

Dr. McGill and her team have provided very good care to our cats and dog. Her approach is to provide holistic care for animals, so perhaps some may find additional services too costly, but it is always the her client's choice to pay for extra services. I have always found Dr. McGill knowledgeable and progressive .

I was over sold on products and procedures that "needed" to be done. They are in the business of making money first and helping animals is a distant second!

I was a client of Martindale over 10 Years.Bringing them my dog's,cats.bunnys.One day I brought in a Bunny for an X-Ray to see if she was Pregnant? They said they were busy, and to leave her there, and they would call me when they had the answer.I signed a paper that Stated do NOT spay if she is Pregnant. When I picked her up, they said they had SPAYED her! I was Horrified-and they Charged me just under $500.00. for the abortions of 5 Babies and the Un wanted Spay ! I was Crying I was so upset they had done this to her and the babies. They would Not give me my Bunny til I paid there Huge Bill. With in 24 hours my Bunny got Extremely Sick-I had to buy $200.00 in meds from them. She got worse -there meds were garbage. The sold me more- for $87.00. On the 6th day she started to get better. She is ok, but Not the same girl. This place is NOT Trust Worthy with "Your Pet"! With in a week of them Screwing Up-they sent me a letter, telling me they do Not see Bunny's anymore. They LIED !!

Use to be a very good clinic but has grown from two vets to four and the emphasis has been shifted from quality pet care to how to pry the most money from the pet owners pockets in the shortest amount of time possible. In comparison to other clinics in our area this one seems to be the most expensive. The clinic owner is one of the vets and she does not like to be questioned about her pricing policy and actually becomes quite aggressive and snotty about it. After running some very expensive tests our beautiful dog was misdiagnosed on more than one occasion. While our dog was critically ill and still their patient the clinic never once called for an update on her condition. A correct diagnosis was quickly obtained elsewhere and unfortunately it was too late. The only vet there that has any knowledge and compassion is Dr.C Todd and I'm sure that if she were to ever open her own practice she would take many of Martindale's clientele away.
