Click to report rating    1/22/15   5     5     5     4   Our 4-year old yorkie/poodle mix has been under the care of Dr. Franklin since she came into our home at 9 weeks. Wonderful staff. I am a first time dog parent with loads of questions and anxiety on every visit. I have found Dr. Franklin to be generous with his time, and a kind, caring soul. I wouldn't take our little girl to anyone other than Dr. Franklin. RID: 55572
Click to report rating    10/22/13   4     4     4     3   I am new to Toronto and my cat became quite ill. The clinic is clean, well equipped, open on the weekends (avoiding expensive emergency clinics) and had positive reviews on other sites. The staff is professional and knowledgeable and show concern for your pets wellbeing. My initial experience was outstanding and I was pleased with their ability to explain my cat’s condition, the treatment process and potential additional treatment options. They were available to me to help with the care and treatment of my cat and when he required hospitalization they were able to provide the care he needed. I was able to drop in and visit my little guy and they provided my updated with how he was progressing. After a few visits and $1500, the typical veterinary business focus has emerged. The clinic is still a good option if you live in the area but the level of care varies by physician. Dr. Franklyn was amazing and his bedside manner is second to none but the owner is a business man. Click to report rating    10/18/13   5     5     5     5   I've been taking our cats to Laird Eglinton for 6 years now and have been very happy with their service. Ryan Franklin is terrific - very compassionate and friendly, and always sensitive to cost of treatment and medication. When my parents' dog had to be put down due to advanced liver disease, Dr. Tung and one of the assistants went to their house so that my elderly parents didn't have to bring the dog to the clinic, which would have been much more stressful for everyone. They call to check up on your pets when they've had treatment/medication. All round great place. RID: 47704
Click to report rating    6/12/13   5     5     5     4   Dr. Franklyn is amazing. He allowed us all the time we needed to discuss our concerns and options. And he never forces expensive treatments upon our dog. He always tries to find us affordable options. I wish we could have a people doctor like him! He does not overcharge for repeat visits for the same issue. Last summer our dog was sick and we had to return several times for followups, he didn't even charge us for half the visits! And he calls to check up, or will email further info. We love Dr. Franklyn! RID: 43081
Click to report rating    4/23/13   4     4     3     3   My mom's cat was checked and vaccinated for LESS than the vet clinic I bring my own cat to. All people involved were friendly, though we had to wait. But perhaps the doctor was taking extra time to discuss an animal with it's owners! RID: 42002
Click to report rating    11/15/12   5     5     4     5   Excellent knowledgeable and compassionate care by all staff and veterinarians. Have used them since they opened several years ago in the old location. RID: 38506
Click to report rating    11/13/12   5     5     5     4   Great Staff! Good location and parking. Clean facilities. Have been going to this clinic for just shy of 10 years. Sheila is wonderful:) Have had all the Dr. on staff look after our two dogs and cat over the years. They are efficient and caring. One example: When dog had incident with another dog and he had to be monitored, instead of keeping over night they monitored him while they got caught up on paperwork after hours...I picked him up around midnight and no overnight cost. They go above and beyond. The only concern is that if you have an unexpected visit and a full physical is done and a few months later your annual is up, they charge you for another full physical...however strongly feel the upside outweighs that one concern as they do go above and beyond. All city vets charge a ridiculous amounts for services, however this is typical. Bottom line: great service, friendly staff and willing to go the extra mile. RID: 38459
Click to report rating    10/10/12   5     5     5     4   Our 14 year old tiny toy poodle, Pixie, had serious dental issues. We weren't sure she would make it through the necessary treatments, or if we could afford them. With the incredible support and help of the staff at Laird Eglinton Vet Clinic, our hairy girl is running around like a puppy again. We can express how thankful we are and would recommend this clinic wholeheartedly! RID: 37738
Click to report rating    8/22/12   5     5     5     1   My dog had skin infections full time for 10 years. Medical insurance ran out after $14,000.00 they pretty well had know idea wat else to do. She was in so many drugs she built up an immunity to them. I took her to danforth vet clinic. Vet checked her out for five minutes and said to put her on zd because she has a food alergy. She was completely clear of all sores within one week. You decide. Very bad RID: 36743
Click to report rating    10/20/11   4     3     3     2   Found that they like sending my dog to the more expensinve VEC more than I think was necessary. They also seem ready to prescribe drugs rather than holistic options. But they are good at calling to see how my dog is doing with medication. RID: 28460
Click to report rating    8/15/11   5     5     5     5   this is the only vet i will take my pets to they are treated like family, and when i had to have to of my cats put down they were the best and to my suprise i got a card from them and every one signed it,and if it is an emergency and they are open they do there best to squeeze you in,as long as they are in business and i will always got to them,if my cats and dogs like them then they are good people RID: 26934

Click to report rating    5/3/11   4     4     4     4   A great clinic with caring and professional staff. Reading the other reviews it surprises me that some of us pet owners still don't realize that pets cost money!! RID: 24787

Click to report rating    1/1/11   1     3     2     1   Unethical! Force clients to buy their overpriced meds by charging huge fees for faxing prescriptions to a pharmacy that charges much less for the same meds. Wouldn't mind quite as much if they were good vets. After 2 years of frustration I'm not taking my cat back to them. RID: 21721
Click to report rating    5/17/09   2     3     3     1   I took my large-breed dog here after she had been diagnosed with a bladder problem elsewhere. Friendly vet did repeat x-rays which kept me there for hours because xrays were "grainy" and he was unsure of what he was seeing. Ultimately, he couldn't decide what he was looking at and recommended surgery ($1,000) which I refused on the grounds of his uncertainty. So he prescribed a $$ food that must be ordered through them & which my dog should be on "for life". When I read the directions on the bag, it said the food was not recommended beyond 2 months because of kidney issues- when I called the vet, he said he had no idea since he had clients on that food for years, and would have to re-read the bag himself. He never called back. I basically spent $800 or so there, never heard back, kept her on that food til it ran out, and switched to Blue Cross Animal Hospital. My friend, who recommended the clinic, said I should gone to Dr. Paquet *only* who was fantastic with her dog with cancer. RID: 12830

Click to report rating    9/4/08   5     5     5     5   This vet is certainly the Best. Dr J Paquet is both kind and knowledgeable. She is everything you would want as a veterinarian I have been going there for 4+ years and never had a bad experience. In addition two of my cats had life threatening illness and Dr Paquet gave all options and pointed out the least expensive. Both my cats survived. I am very thankful for this hospital. I will caution everyone about the Riverdale Animal Clinic. RID: 9898
Click to report rating    9/4/08   5     3     4     4   Of the vets I've been to in Toronto - this one is by far the most reasonable and compassionate. Depending on the vet you get during your visit - 2 of the vets are amazing and I won't see anyone other than them. I've never had a problem and highly recommend them to anyone. RID: 9877
Click to report rating    8/19/08   3     4     3     1   It's probably one of the most expensive clinics around and a lot of the times some of the vets go for the most expensive option rather than laying out all the options instead. I would like to see more caring from them. Still undecided if I should still take my dog there. RID: 9702
