Wow the prices are absolutely outrageous here. They will push all kinds of unnecessary tests when only a couple will tell enough. The front desk staff were courteous. I am just outraged at how greedy this clinic is. After spending hundreds of dollars in tests, they suggested a urine culture (already did a urinalysis but they didn't add the culture?????) and guess how much MORE they wanted for a culture $170 !!!! What???!! $170 for a urine culture? Are they out of their minds? I said no way, I'll go to another vet, where it is under $50. SHAME ON THESE Highway robbery vets!!!

STAY AWAY! Our dog was brought here while he was in the care of a nearby boarding facility and I was overseas (Feb 26 2018). Handed over $1400 to run tests and pre-pay for up to 12 hours of care. Dr Hertel called us and told us dog has cancer and a few hours days/hours to live then casually mentioned more tests/treatments. Frantically we struggled to make the decision to fly home at the expense of $6000 CAD- I decided against this & felt terrible which actually worked out in our favour because our dog is still here (and fine!). Upon my return the medical report was reviewed with a PROFESSIONAL: cancer was never mentioned & the dog was never in CRITICAL CARE/ CONDITION!. I spent 1 month trying to deal with the clinic spoke to 2 different "managers" and requested to speak with owner (NO CALL BACK!). This "vet" isn't listed on their website despite being there "for years" & b/c he doesn't want his name/photo on the internet. Full story:https://www.facebook.com/kristina.lia...

My family has been going to Clarkson Village Animal Hospital for 26 years. We're always very happy to enthusiastically refer business to this animal hospital. We recently had an experience where we felt that the bill exceeded what was necessary for our cat Chester at that visit. After one quick and courteous phone call the situation was resolved and the bill was significantly reduced. As always this was handled by the phone desk staff quickly, personally and professionally. Thank you very much for all of your great and considerate services over the last quarter century. Our recent visit and experience was just another in the long history of great service from this animal hospital. Strongly recommend.

My boyfriend and I had adopted a kitten from petsmart and it turns out three days after we bought him he was diagnosed with panleukopenia. It was Saturday night and my kitten had become extremely ill I called clarkson village and they saw him almost right away. We then met doctor Gary Noorlander and he diagnosed our cat and told us exactly what needed to be done my cat stayed with both of the Noorlanders for days and we were able to get constant updates on his condition and if there was something they needed to do they would give us a call and we were able to visit our cat any time of the day and call to check up on him. We are so grateful for the amazing care he recieved. I would not take my pets anywhere else! Thank you to clarkson village!

I just moved to the area. Once I took my dog in for annual blood test for heartworm. My bill was over $400 but I didn't get to see the doctor. They just took my dog into the backroom and had her blood taken. The doctor keep sending the technician to ask me questions. I don't understand why she can't just ask the question herself and communicate with the pet owner. I didn't feel I get good service for what I paid. At the old vet the doctors always see the owners and answer the questions no matter what kind appointment you made. At Clarkson unless you specifically tell them to book examination appt you won't get to see the doctor.

I can't believe some of the negative reviews I've seen on here about my beloved Clarkson Village! I have been taking my family members here for a few years now and cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. The staff here are friendly and always concerned about my "kids". Sure, I've had to wait for appointments at times but who hasn't? When was the last time you walked into your doctors office and walked right into the exam room?? Every appointment I have I feel that my kids get the best care and all of my questions are answered. The doctors here are caring and extremely knowledgable! I would not hesitate one second to recommend this hospital to friends and family. The best thing is that I know my pets will have great care 24 hours a day, and the emergency doctors that I have met so far have been wonderful too. I will never take my kids anywhere else but here!!

Doctor mis diagnosed my dog where the issue was life or death. He had an auto immune disease and I was told by the doctor that it was just allergies. Was even suggested to give an advantage multi (insect prevention type product)to him at that time. Well I took him to another clinic who not only immediately diagnosed him with an auto immune disease but what is even more disturbing, this product that the clarkson village doctor gave me could have worsened his condition and even proven fatal. My dog needed to be immediately put on steroid treatment (to stop him destroying blood platlets)and to preven internal (or in case of a cut) bleeding out. He is never allowed another vaccination or chemical insect repelant product. This vet could have killed him had I listened to their doctor and not taken him elswhere. If it doesnt seem right please dont go back. Get a second opinion. Better yet, dont go at all.

Have been going to CVAH for over 20 years - one of the first "patients". Caring and knowledgable staff and veterinarians. We wouldn't even consider going somewhere else.

1- Had a microchip put in my dog - found out 6 months later, they did not bother to register it with the company.2- When test results come back, have waited 3 days to get a phone call to discuss results.3- Dr Mudrick is so busy running the business details of his clinic, he doesn't have time to concentrate on your pets health. Does a lot of "chatting", but won't listen to owner. Looks at one symptom at a time, and offers a band aid approach instead of putting the whole picture together. My dog had a serious illness for years, which he didn't catch in time. I did research on the net myself, found the problem, it was confirmed with a simple urine test. Too late, my wonderful dog died. If this test had been done years or even months earlier, this was a treatable condition, and my dog would have had a much better quality of life during that time. When you have to do your own diagnosing, there's something seriously wrong with the vet/clinic.

We love this clinic! When our 3 month old kitten was injured they took amazing care of him. We had to board him as his injury occured 1 day before we were scheduled to go away. The vet and front staff arranged to take him home in the evenings and he became a regular at their staff meeting. When he was home and I was worried about how he was healing, I was able to bring him in without charge for a quick check. The staff are always friendly and show they genuinely care. Prices are always discussed before hand. We do get a full physical for our pet every year, including blood work and stool sample - this was recommended beyond the standard shots, but never forced upon us. Pain management management and general well being is a priority. If we change food or have to give medication, the staff follows up with a call. After his nueter, we received a personalized brochure complete with instructions for care. We are extremely fond of this clinic and would highly recommend it!

I'm really pleased with the staff and services and super surprised to read some of the not so nice reviews.3 dogs and 1 cat I've brought to Clarkson Village and we've always received great help. Money and tests were always discussed ahead of time. They've helped me save money by treating problems proactively like her ear infection. I totally can recommend this place to anyone!

We had a chow chow - which is a challenging breed to treat - and the staff and vets always treated her like a queen and when she was 16 they gently and with great kindness put her down while we held her in our arms. We now have a little terrier and, although he is the opposite of our old girl, they adore him and treat him and his feisty personality with delight. I am always confident that my dogs are not only cared well for at Clarkson, they genuinely care for the welfare of all animals.

Two of the front staff are unbelievably rude. If you lodge a complaint with head staff or vet, they will stand by their unprofessional staff and the blame is on you for being rude. They take your animal in the back for all shots administered to your pet which I do not like and have never seen before. Don't they have a clue that your pet is frightened and would rather have it's owner with him/her? I would never tell anyone to go there. Dispicable service, highly priced and the owner Dr. Mudrick seems to know more about dogs than cats, as he keeps referring to dogs when you only want to hear about cats in comparison. Do Not Go There.
