I agree with the other poster who said they (in my case Dr. Chamandy) is more motivated by the money than anything else. No problem with vets making a decent living. BUT, I had 4 cats that needed dental, and he charged a LOT more per cat and refused to match the price. He lost me as a customer maybe 5 or so years ago now, but I happened across the site today. My new vet is wonderful. The four old cats have run up about $20,000 worth of vet bills since then, and I hope the extra hundred you were going to change me per cat for dental was worth the loss of business for you!

The entire staff is fantastic! I'm confused by the comments accusing Dr. Chamandy of being uncaring, considering the reason we've taken our fur kids there for 15+ years is because we found him to be incredibly caring and compassionate on our very first visit... end every visit since. He picks up our cats and snuggles with them, and gets down on the floor with our dogs and lets them slobber on him. He explains every treatment option thoroughly, including the cost of each option. He doesn't do unnecessary vaccines or treatments. The staff is especially amazing when it comes to making end of life decisions. When we had to say goodbye to one of our kitties suddenly and unexpectedly, one of the technicians just hugged me while I cried. Dr. Chamandy only charged us for the euthanasia on that visit - not the exam or any of the tests that led to that decision. If money was really his top priority, that wouldn't have happened! This clinic is worth every penny and more!

I have been to other Animal Hospitals in the past, & Now that we are at the South Windsor Animal Hospital,, I have "Never" looked Back ! Both Doctor's are Wonderful, & so is there staff. I have, & do, Highly Recommend them.

I am so impressed with South Windsor Animal Hospital. Whether my cat is seen by Dr. Chamandy or Dr. Quinn when I bring him in, they are both always professional, prompt, informative, and very caring. I appreciate the friendly and compassionate service provided by their staff and I am always impressed by the staff's ability to remember and greet me or my pet by name, whether we are coming in to the clinic, or I am calling on the phone. Great customer service, extremely knowledgeable, very accessible and flexible in the face of an urgent pet issue. Would recommend them to anyone and everyone- the whole clinic goes above and beyond to care for their patients and clients and I am so appreciative.

The girls are awesome and Dr. Quinn is excellent. She goes out of her way to provide excellent care and reassurance. However Dr. Charmandy seems to be more concerned with money than pet health. The clinic is expensive and fees seem to rise every year. Dr. Charmandy can be very uncompassionate towards pet owners who do not have unlimited funds. He is quick to provide you with the most expensive treatment without really explaining all of the options. Once he discovers that you cannot spend unlimited amounts, he quickly becomes uninterested in helping you or your animal. I will continue to go to this hospital because of the girls and Dr Quinn but I will not be making another appt with Dr. Chamandy.

Always a great experience and my dog likes going there!! Awesome staff that knows what there talking about!! Always willing to pay the extra buck because I know my pet is in good hands!! Ty Dr. Chamandy and staff :)

Wonderful staff!!! Wonderful care. I have a dog and cat that I bring and have never thought of going elsewhere. Only reason I rated monetary value a 4 is because I really don't know the value vs other clinics cost wise.

My pet has been a "patient" for over 13 years. The staff are very considerate, knowledgeable and trusted. Dr. Chamandy is a wonderful Vet, sensitive to your feelings when your pet is ill or at the end of it's life but also relatable as a pet owner himself. I wouldn't go anywhere else and will always sing their praises. You get what you pay for and I leave knowing I have received the best care possible regardless of my budget. I will have this clinic for all of my pets. Great job and thank you!

I've been a client for 12 years and can't imagine going elsewhere. The vet has fantastic "bedside manners" and is able to put even my most frightened cat at ease during the examination. The entire staff is friendly and compassionate, and they all clearly enjoy their work. I have never had anything less than stellar service from this clinic.

I would definitely recommend this clinic to others. Everyone there is very friendly and make you feel welcome. You can tell they enjoy their job and truly care about the animals. I've had nothing but good experiences with them.

The staff is extremely caring, and they always put the care for the animal first. Their focus on detail and patient care is phenomenal. Not the cheapest in town, but certainly not the most expensive - you do get what you pay for! Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Staff is great. Knows my dog and cat by their names.Never have to wait for the appointment time. The vet is very compassionate especially when the pet is older.The fees may be a lttle higher but it well worth it. They treat you like family.

The staff at this clinic is amazing. Always willing to go the extra mile to help you and your pet. I feel they always explain everything in detail so that I can understand it and always accomodating as much as they can. My pets love going to the vet, they never seem scared (and like getting treats too!) Although comparitivly they can be more expensive than other vets in the city, you get what you pay for! the quality of service and information is far beyond what I've ever received at any other clinic I've spoken with. I'm willing to pay a few extra bucks for the care that my pets and I receive.

Good vet and thorough. Expensive. I don't get the sense that he cares about the animals as much as he cares about the money. I have no problem with vets making a decent living, but I think that money is this vet's main motivator. He is not interested in helping rescues or shelters. Opposes low-cost spay-neuter. He charged me $100 more PER CAT for dental cleaning as another very good vet in the same city. Same procedure, exactly.
