Since moving to the area, West Hill animal clinic has been our veterinary. Dr. Thompson and his team, the beautiful friendly smiles and the tears I saw in their eyes each time one of our beloved pets passed have surpassed anything I could have hoped for. Now our new baby Dylan is lucky to have their care also. Our first visit with Dylan was so thorough they even found a tiny scratch above his ear - it was so small yet Dr. Thompson found it. He gave us such intelligent and useful advice about why Dylan wasn't eating and tips on getting him eating and it worked!!! I love how quickly everyone gets back to you and how thorough they are. You will not find such friendly, knowledgeable and patient people anywhere. I love everyone at Westhill Animal Clinic - from reception to techs to Dr. Thompson and the other doctors - all so amazing.

Dr Clayton Greenway is great! He displayed a true compassion for me as well as my cat. Not only did he take the time to call and explain the monetary aspect of my cats procedure, but also used a laymen's term to describe what needed to be done. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for quality, transparent service.

After listening to Dr. Greenway on Newstalk 1010 on Saturday mornings, I decided to email him to get some assistance with my dog's Ph level and Struvite crystals. He emailed me back very quickly and gave me MUCH detail re an alternate home made meal. I still had a few questions and I continued to hear back from Dr. Greenway as he wanted me to be comfortable going in this new direction for my dog. He went on to note the importance for consistency in my dogs meal and the importance to retest his urine until clear. He was very professional and caring for not only MY concerns, but also for my dog. His correspondence was very clear and concise to my concerns and this proved to be a very positive interaction with Dr. Greenway. With sincere appreciation!

great experience all around and want to thank Dr Clayton Greenway for his intuition before xrays quickly diagnosing my 9 year old doodle "Bogie" mysterious symptoms; he provided all the facts which confirmed a bleeding mass on the spleen. Dr. Greenway has to be the best Vet that I have ever gone to in my 50 plus years!! Dr. Greenway is patient, informative with a sound knowledge base. Truly impresses me. He does not push you but rather gives you the informed info to help you make a decision with ALL the available facts. He NEVER rushes you but rather takes the time to ensure everyone is satisfied and on board. My past experiences were previous vets were polite but I always felt rather rushed and thats when you forget things. My wife Gail and I would like to thank you and your amazing supportive staff on how you handled our Brody who developed cancer at 14 yrs and we feel lucky to this day for having you in our lives when we needed you. You made the decision and process of putting our Brody down so much easier and we can't thank you enough! I have been a client of this client for over 15 years and have dealt with various vets over the years. My experience with Dr. Thompson finds him very professional, thorough and compassionate. He is what you expect from a vet. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of his counter part Dr. Greenway. My experiences with Dr. Greenway have found him condescending and arrogant. He should take some lessons from Dr. Thompson on what constitutes customer service. He spends too much time on promoting his "celebrity" status and not enough on his bedside manners. He should stop talking down to his clients or he will find that he will not have any. I for one refuse to have him see any of my pets. Koodos for Dr. Thompson.

We started using this clinic after yrs at our previous useless, money draining clinic. They've been so great with our pets. Dr.Greenway is truly a God send. I disagree with the commenter who made some very disparaging comments about him. Dr.Greenway has helped us work out a payment plan & he's very caring. He takes great care of our dog & cats. Our previous clinic refused to run tests on our oldest cat. Turns out his very large stomach was actually a tumour. Dr.Greenway tried in vain to save his life but it was too late for my poor boy. The tumour had blocked off arteries & my baby died while Dr.Greenway was operating. My husband was the one to deal with it all and Dr.Greenway was great with the whole grieving process. He made a plaster cast of his paw print, saved a tuft of his fur & made all the arrangements to have him cremated. Our Trouble is now in an urn on our dresser. If you need a good vet this clinic is the best.

I have to say I've had 3 vet clinics and by all means West Hill Animal Clinic is the best I came across! I mean I was a little hesitant when I first took my dog there the first time only cause I believe the first veterinarian I had wasn't thorough enough, but then I took him back for a checkup and that's when I got Dr. Clayton Greenway, he explained everything to a tee and made sure I understood everything that was going on with my dog and his meds! I will be taking my dog back for sure :)

I have not been to Dr. Greenway's clinic only because it is quite a distance from my home. I have been listening to him on Newstalk 1010 for a long time and have always admired his compassion, good nature and knowledge when it comes to dealing with health issues with pets. Yesterday, I thought I would send him an email after the show because I had an odd situation with my cat. I could not believe it when he replied to my email almost immediately. It wasn't just a few lines telling me what he thought. He sent a letter detailing four possible explanations why my cat suddenly became ill. He is a remarkable vet and I only wish I lived closer to his clinic. I can only imagine how well he treats his patients in person if this is how he responds to a random email when I am sure he must receive 100's a week! Thank you Dr. Greenway!

My name is Jennifer Hurd and I live in the Buffalo NY area. After listening to Dr. Greenway on Radio 1010, I encountered a problem with my dog Elvis. I emailed Dr Greenway who got back to me almost immediately. We had a discussion about the problem and he was amazing!!!! We went through all the things necessary t give the Dr. the info he needed to explain Elvis's problem to me and with great patience and understanding put some options out there for me. I would recommend Dr. Greenway to any and everyone I know. I absolutely adore his radio show and hope it continues. His compassionate but no nonsense style is wonderful and instills confidence. Yesterday we booked an appointment at West Hill Animal Clinic to see Dr. Greenway after listening to his radio show on Newstalk 1010. In June our cats Prince and Princess had there annual check up and Vaccines (Feline Leukemia and Distemper). Two days later, Prince got very ill and was hospitalized and put on IV fluids etc... We needed a second opinion on treatment for our siamese cat Prince after our vet wanted to send us to a specialist. Dr. Greenway is extremely knowledgable, he took the time to explain why Prince could be ill and anemic. He has recommended a treatment plan for Prince. We are now requesting our pets files from our previous vet to be sent to West Hill! We are so thankful that he has his radio show to help pet parents who are at a dead end to find a solution. Dr. Greenway is very professional, caring and passionate about your pets health and well being. Thank you!

Dr. Greenway raises the bar for veterinarians! His knowledge, professionalism and compassion for both animals and humans truly shows. The care he provides far exceeds any expectation a pet owner could ever have, I know because I have been a pet parent my entire life and have met many vets over the years.
Sadly we only met him recently and our Phoebe was in the final stage of her life, she'd been ill for some time and we were desperate. During this short time Clayton helped us immensely. From the guidance and professional advice he provided to the personal stories he shared. Even before we were his client he spent time listening to our dog's story and providing guidance and advice. The compassion he showed us and our girl meant so much and truly helped us get through such a difficult time.
Fortunately for our younger dog, Lola we have now found the best. She will live out the remainder of her life with the care and support of an exceptional veterinarian!

My small Shih Tzu dog that I rescued was born with severe life threatening medical conditions. I took her to vet specialists across USA & Canada plus 2 at veterinary colleges but nobody could help her and I seemingly had no other option but to put her out of her misery. Behold I came across West Hill Animal Hospital and could not believe that Dr. Greenway had many successes curing medical problems that specialists could not. With no specialized training he has been blessed with a special gift being able to cure animal medical problems. Like many other reviewers on this site I haven't actually been to this clinic but I just know all the staff must be great. It will be worth the distance to travel to get there. I told my Baby about the visit that will happen soon it seems to have put her in better spirits! Dr. Greenway is a miracle worker and must be the most gifted vet in North America, if not the world! Everything about this clinic is wonderful. For the first time in my life I feel comfortable that my dogs health is in great hands. In just 2 short weeks Dr. Greenway has taken my very sick 7 yr old English bulldog and made her 95% better! Its unbelievable how well she is doing and will be at 100% in no time under his care. This doctor goes above and beyond to show he cares. Everything was explained all questions were answered and he even followed up post surgery to see how she was doing. Simply amazing. This clinic deserves more than 5 stars! Dr. Greenway has a true love for animals and is extremely knowledged with all breeds and all animals! I wish I would have found him when my dog was a puppy but glad I found him now! This clinic is a bit far from where I live and I do not drive so it costs me $40 each way to go here. This should tell you what a great vet and clinic this is! I am so thankful for Dr. Greenway and the staff at this clinic!!

I wish there was a rating for "EXCEPTIONAL". I have a 4-yr-old dog who had been seen at clinic after clinic since puppyhood for his serious congenital health problems. Among his problems, it was his severe skin allergies that proved to be the most challenging. I took him all over the city to see specialist after specialist and no one was able to successfully treat his severe skin problems. Years later and thousands of dollars spent, he was still scratching himself night and day...and euthanasia seemed like my only option...However, a miracle happened for us when I learned of Dr. Greenway via word of mouth. I took my dog in to see him at WHAC right away and after only one consultation, Dr. Greenway prescribed the right medication. Ten days later, it was like I had a brand new dog--happy and healthy! (Yes, his treatment plan was THAT effective!) It has now been months since that consultation and my dog continues to do so well! I can't thank Dr. Greenway enough..HUGE applause!!!

We needed a second opinion on treatment for our dog after our vet wanted to send us to a specialist and potentially expensive surgery. I emailed Dr. Greenway to get a 2nd opinion. I agree with everything that all the reviewers have said about him - caring, genuine, knowledgeable and thorough. Although the clinic is far for us, we brought our dog in and now she is on a new treatment plan without going through surgery. Dr. Greenway is an exceptional vet - lucky to have connected with him through his radio show. In addition, the clinic is spotless and the staff could not be nicer or more helpful.

Dr. Clayton Greenway was often featured on the Ask the Experts radio show on CFRB 1010. I called into a recent program to ask about an issue with my cat and Dr. Greenway gave me the kind of straight-ahead honest advice that I had been unable to get from several other vets after a week of trying. A few days later I called him at his clinic to discuss the matter further and he offered to drop by my home (we happen to live in the same area) to help out with my cat. I found Dr. Greenway to be a very caring and knowledgeable vet and am strongly recommending him to my friends, even though most of them live downtown (but what’s a few extra minutes drive to have a ‘good vet’ like Clayton Greenway deal with one's pet issues....I think it’s well worth the drive to West Hill Animal Clinic!) And there is good news! Dr.Greenway now hosts his own weekly phone-in radio show called Animal House Saturday mornings at 10am on CFRB newstalk 1010.

So often people take the time to write negative experiences ~ well this is quite the opposite. I cannot recommend West Hill Animal Clinic enough. They truly took the time to explain the entire process when my "Carley" had to have surgery on her bladder for stone. They were patient and understanding and did everything they could. The surgery was a success and Carley is a happy girl again. The follow up with Dr. Kristin Joudry was second to none. A true blessing to the verterinary industry. On Tuesday evening after being mistreated by the vet I'd been using for 2 years, I decided to take a chance and start calling around. I Called Westhill and explained the situation of what had just happened, the woman on the other end of the phone listened to everything I had to say and provided me with great information before offering me a free visit, the following day I attended the clinic with my cat Queen Quinn and the staff were exceptionally kind to her. I Didn't have to wait she was taken in right away and examined by Dr Clayton Greenwood. Dr Greenwood was extremely kind with both Quinn and myself and wanted to get to the bottom of her issue. Despite me being in tears he continually insured me of the bond Quinn and I shared ad that she knew I loved her no matter the results. Although Quinn's prognosis wasn't great Dr Greenwood went above and beyond to keep her here with me for as long as possible. Every day I wake up and see her I owe to this amazing and caring doctor. - Melanie

We have gone to this clinic since moving into the area in 1995 and had doubts when Dr. Wood sold this clinic. However, we needed to take our dog Mocha in and had the great pleasure of having Dr. Clayton Greenway take a look at our dog. This vet is probably the best vet we have ever had and I would recommend him to everyone. I was really surprised at the extent of time he took with us to explain the situation to us and he was very very knowledgeable.
West Rouge - we have a younger Dr. Woods back at West Hill Animal Clinic with the name of DR. CLAYTON GREENWAY.

I can't believe that a pet parent can be as vitriolic as 1 rater was...I'm so impressed with Dr Clayton Greenway,he's so kind, loves the animals under his care & takes alot of time with us pet parents.While so many vets are charging very increased fees, Clayton tries to keep the fee as reasonable as possible. That, & the fact that he is so knowledgeable, makes a huge difference, which is why I drove my 2 cats from Alliston to their Scarborough clinic. He answered all my questions & concerns & never brushed me off, as other vets have done. As an aside, Quebec is the only province that regulates vet fees, which is why most vets charge way too much, & it's the animals that suffer, as many owners can't afford care for their beloved pets.Please feel comfortable attending Dr Greenway's clinic, he & the staff are excellent, kind & they try to keep the costs down.

I have spent so much money at this clinic,you can easily except to spend a 100 + for the smallest of problems. Receptionists are a bit rude,they tend to be nicer to certain ppl,although the amount of money I ve spent there,they should be pretty nice. The assistants at the back are pretty helpful. Dr Thompson is great,he genuinely cares and I prefer to deal with him,one of reasons I go back.However the other vets not so much,Dr Greenway,what can I say,he s a pig,no genuine care abt the animal and all about the $$$$. I ve met a few other vets there and they re not the greatest,one misdiagnosed but reason I go back is cause of Dr Thompson,if he leaves Id be going elsewhere. I wish they could be more affordable and possibly throw free things in for clients who are there as often as I am.

I want to Thank Dr. Clayton Greenway,(& associates) for his compassion, loving & professional way he helped in assisting our Beloved boy, Jasper go to Heaven. His words of comfort & helping to ease our pain we're grateful for. Even during a time in his own family urgences he still took the time to be there for us, on the spur of the moment. Dr. Wood was a great Veterinary; since he retired the clinic attention has turn in the wrong direction. I took my pet there and the doctor continued to yawn and act tired during the examination. Despite that fact that we live in the Beach area, we drive out to West Hill whenever we need veterinary help. There are many vets in the immediate area but the care we receive, particularly from Dr. Gawen Thompson at West Hill Animal clinic, is superior. I know there are many vets out there with both compassion and skill but the time commitment, patience and profound interest that Dr. Thompson has shown our family in caring for our pet has been overwhelming and unparalleled. At West Hill Clinic the experienced, highly accomplished vets have left and the clinic is under new management. FEES HAVE TRIPLED! Vet was unable to manage my older, somewhat lively dog and complained about the hair left on her pants!AVOID THIS CLINIC IF YOU CAN. After 10 years I am now searching for a new one.

The best clinic we, as a family, had stayed with over 15yrs. We have been moved to miles away, but i still go back to them becuz they offer the most caring service. All staffs and vets are loving and they treated your dogs as their own, they not only treat pets, they comfort owners too. They do excellent followups. Their fees are really reasonable. Highly recommended.

This animal clinic was highly recommended to me by a friend whom is known to all people that know him as being SUPER PICKY and FUSSY to say the least, and for him to say this place is great is a true compliment to also say the least because he does indeed like and care about his dog more than he does most people, or so it seems lol...true to word though he was right on because the wonderful treatment both my dog Marty and I received from ALL of the staff was just amazing.I am so glad that I took Marty there and I will continue to do so in the near future. Recently my 7 month old kitten started vomitting on a Friday afternoon. When I called West Hill Animal Clinic they made arrangements to see him immediately. Dr. Clayton Greenway was the vet that saw him and he was absolutely fantastic. He was sincerely concerned with Dash, took the time to ask lots of questions & explain everything to us. It turned out Dash ate something that caused an obstruction and Dr. Greenway completely rearranged his schedule on Saturday no less so that he could do the surgery for us instead of having it done at an emergency clinic. This meant the world to me and put me at ease knowing it would be someone I knew instead of a stranger doing this surgery. Again he went above and beyond, explaining everything including the costs. Clayton personally has a knack for putting you at ease during a very stressful situation. Over the next week (post-op) he followed up repeatedly to ensure Dash's recovery was progressing well. The entire clinis staff were wonderful!

Unfortunately, my dog was recently diagnosed with diabetes and not realizing that pets can suffer from diabetes I was quite shocked by the diagnosis. Dr. Greenway took the time to explain the treatment as well as the success rate. Dr. Greenway called me each day during Ace's assessment and a member of his staff took the time to follow up on Good Friday. I'm very grateful for the care Ace received while at the clinic as well as the reassurance from Dr. Greenway that Ace would adjust well to insulin. Ace and I wish to thank Dr. Greenway and staff at the clinic for their knowledge and care.

On January 9, 2013 we had to say goodbye to our sweet little dog, Diamond. Although it was something we knew was coming, it was still a very sad goodbye. Dr. Greenway was amazing through the entire process. He took over Diamond's care when she was in quite a fragile state (significant heart disease). Under Dr. Greenway's care, Diamond lived her last year pain free and happy. We are very grateful to Dr. Greenway for his support of Diamond and her family too. Dr. Greenway was always there to guide us with Diamond and the numerous medications that she was on. I knew that if I had a concern I could just call WHAC and Dr. Greenway would answer any questions that I would have. Alot of Vets won't do that for you (they require that you come in for an appointment). Anyway, thank you Dr. Greenway for all that you did for Diamond and her family. You are one of kind!

I recently visited West Hill Animal Clinic which accepted in an emergency situation.I had come home from work and found my cat "Tiffany" in a prolonged seizure state. The staff were great dealing with me and my animal in such a traumatic expierence.Dr Clayton Greenway was my vet and he spent time with me explaining the gravity of this situation and the options I had.Unfortunately I had to say good bye to Tiffany but the compassion and professionalism was top notch.Thank you for helping me through this difficult time

On a recent visit to the West Hill Animal Clinic Dr Clayton Greenway was examining Lexi our golden retriever when he noted, with concern, a very small growth on the lip.
Surgery was recommended and, after cutting his vacation short in order to carry out the procedure, he removed the growth completely. It was found to be malignant, but thanks to Dr Greenway's experience and diligence it was caught very early. Had the condition gone undetected for only 1-2 months longer the outcome would have been very different. Thanks to his early detection and surgery Lexi's prognosis is excellent.
It would not be an exaggeration to say - DR GREENWAY SAVED LEXI"S LIFE.
The care and treatment Lexi received from Dr Greenway was above and beyond what we could have ever expected, he is a credit to his profession and deserves recognition for the dedication he brings to animal welfare.
Our sincere thanks also to the unsung heroes, the West Hill staff, for their caring support.

I am so pleased, thrilled, amazed, happy and any other positive word you can use to describe this animal clinic.
My husband and I researched vets in Toronto and we decided to give West Hill a try. Not only did they take VERY good care of Moolah but called and checked up on her. In my book that is way above typical standards.
Just recently Moolah was showing visible signs of an infection. We went to the Emergency Hospital and they faxed the results over to West Hill. I got a call the next day from her vet Dr. Thompson asking how Moolah was and explained that she had Pyometra and in such a way we understood. Over a 3 day period it got worse and we had to do surgery.
Dr. Wood did an amazing job on her surgery. She had the proceedure done yesterday and today she is laying here on the bed with her baby heavily guarded. (Like her 2.5lb body is going to really protect it from me).
The staff is caring and amazing all around and I could not have found a better vet anywhere.

Had looked for a great vet for a long time who would work with my rottweiler/dane and no one wanted to because of his breed. WELL she took him in and now shes my vet for my rottie/dane, OEB/OBB/Pug, and my kitten, IF she were to change clinics i'd gladly follow where ever she'd be working at next :) By far the best i've ever come across. (Dr. K. Fulop) the rest of the vets are okay but i wouldnt reccomend them as their not accepting of bully or mastiff breeds they tend to be timid towards them. (yes i've seen them all)
