My golden retriever went into seizures and I had never experienced that so I took him to this clinic as it was after 9 p.m. Before they looked at him, they charged my credit card over $600. The actual charge was closer to $400 so $200 -plus was refunded. But they were insistent that the $600 was customary. Even one of the vet techs told me that $600 was "a little high". My dog got blood work, an injection, and rest for a few hours. A friend of mine who is a vet tech once told me she actually attended a seminar where they teach you how to "upsell" services to pet owners who are in a vulnerable state when their pet is sick. Apparently this clinic took that seminar too.

They give mediocre care at exhorbitant prices. My own vet who is very well known in Stark County told me..."Only use the Stark County Emergency Clinic if it's a matter of life and death!" I had to take my old dog in to be put down over a holdiday weekend. She was in terrible pain and my vet was out. They refused to put her down until I came up with the %175!! I don't have that kind of money, so I borrowed it just so that my old gal wouldn't suffer. They were greedy, and also very cold-hearted while I sat with my dog, sobbing my eyes out. A necessary evil, if you ask my opinion.

Notice how it says EMERGENCY in the name. I had a very sick puppy throwing up blood. They refused to see him without payment up front. They accept paper checks to hold for two weeks but refused to hold my check card info in the same way. I had to sit in my car with my puppy throwing up BLOOD for two hours as I tried to find someone who could give them their credit card information over the phone. I told them he was throwing up and they just said 'sorry' Over $70 to just walk in the door, another $70 for a test and $75 to hold him as they put him to sleep BECAUSE I couldn't give them $1500 in FULL at midnight to try and save him. Oh yeah their business cards say they love pets. It should say they love money. I"ve never experienced so much greed in my life. All because they would only hold a paper check and not a check card info..if you aren't rich and its after hours in Stark county our animals are going to die. He was only 7 weeks old hadn't even had a chance to live yet.

Provided excellent and promt care for my cat. If not for them, Suzi would not have made it. Even though their fees are higher then mt family vet, I understand that my pet is getting the best care and is in caring hands. That peace of mind is priceless.

Prescribed anti-biotic at known dangerously high level. Resulted in blindness of my cat.
