Click to report rating    3/3/25   5     5     5     4   We really love Maritime Animal Hospital. The staff are so friendly, extremely responsive and very considerate. Throughout our time with them, two of our cherished animals had to be put down and they were caring and compassionate during that time. We currently visit the hospital for our dog and two cats. When it comes to price, we understand and appreciate that medical service is costly, and they have worked with us and given us options: we don't feel like we are being treated unfairly there. We couldn't be happier with our choice of veterinary clinic. RID: 71230
Click to report rating    10/18/24   5     5     5     5   Dr. Vessey and staff were amazing with my dog who needed surgery and follow up after complications. I trust them with all of my pets. RID: 71150
Click to report rating    3/21/23   5     5     5     5   Lacey was seen by Dr. Papic this afternoon. The Collins family would like to indicate how impressed we were with the professionalism of all members at the hospital, in particular with Dr. Papic. She was wonderful; understanding, patient, great interpersonal skills and Lacey definately had a thorough examination. A discussion occured concerning Laceys symptons and the specifics surrounding this and possible interventions. Suggestions followed with specific timeframes to observe the interacion of medication with an action plan to follow if present symptoms were not alleviated. At no time during the discussion was there a feeling of being rushed or personal comments disregarded. We are so thankful to have the professionalism that is so apparent at the Maritime Animal Hospital to care for our furry family members that are so loved. Thank you for a very positive experience. Have a great day. The Collins Family & a big kiss from Lacey, she says thanks for the special care & great treats.xo RID: 70616
Click to report rating    12/30/22   5     5     5     5   Once again exceptional experience for my fur boys. The staff really do care about our 4 legged family members and the voicemail I received about my boy Hootch’s blood work was greatly appreciated and my stress level quickly vanished. Cheers to this clinic for what you do and Happy New Year to you all from Turner, Hootch and I. RID: 70540
Click to report rating    1/10/19   5     5     5     5   Thank you, Dr. Chantal Houle! Her knowledge and experience with emergency and internal medicine makes her a treasure to have as a veterinarian. RID: 67217
Click to report rating    9/13/18   5     5     5     5   An Animal Hospital should not just be a "care" facility - it should be a "caring" place. some staff are exceptional. Mary-Ann is a treasure! - the epitome of what caring is all about. A pet is a precious possession - never hesitate to take your baby here, they will be cared for with excellent skills and compassion. Click to report rating    8/25/18   5     5     5     5   All the staff are exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. The vets are great and always take the time to explain and answer any questions we may have about our dog. RID: 66706
Click to report rating    2/24/15   5     5     5     5   Love the amazing service that Dr. VESSEY provides. Very thorough and our animals have been well cared for. Reasonable prices, no over selling RID: 56015
2/2/15   1     3     1     1   There is not enough space to describe the situation we recently had with our pet. I will say however the clinic made a mistake in treating her and it cost us over 1000$ to make her healthy again. I understand mistakes happen, however they will not give us straight answers and are talking in circles. It's very disheartening to be taken advantage of and your pet not taken care of properly. We spent thousands of dollars at this clinic, on visits and food. We have followed all of their advice and recommendations, it's too bad they weren't as loyal as we have been. RID: 55732
Click to report rating    1/11/14   5     5     5     5   Best Veterinary experience in a long time. I was really impressed with the friendliness from the front staff, the timely manner in which my dog and I were taking into the exam room, and the quality of veterinary care my dog received. I was spoken to like a person, no medical babble leaving me confused, and I felt that the vet. bill was on par with my overall experience and expectations. RID: 49193
Click to report rating    1/10/14   5     5     5     5   Great experience here! Minimum waiting time and satisfied with doctors diagnoses. They saved my cat, i love them. RID: 49169
Click to report rating    7/24/13   4     5     4     2   I find Maritime Animal Hospital much improved over the last few years. I've been going there for approximately 15 years with my cats, now have only one . Dr. Mather is the best. RID: 45816
6/23/13   1     1     1     1   Brought my cat in after what appeared to be a stroke, she was still eating and purring. Vet barely looked at her and said she had a stroke and that cats do not recover from strokes and then I let her put her to sleep. I later found out that cats usually recover from strokes within a could of weeks. I wish I would have did some research before getting my cat killed. Its been a year and I still have this awful regret. RID: 43264
6/19/12   3     2     2     1   The secretaries are the only good thing about this place. I have been taking my dog there since he was a puppy and every time I leave, I feel taken advantage of. My last visit was the last straw, I don`t mind spending the money as long as I feel my dog is truely being cared for. He had a tick that I removed and I thought he had another, as well as a sore that has been on his nose for over a month. I brought him in, waited over an hour past my appointment only to be in the office for 5 minutes while the Vet. picked off a scab and told me she didnt know what was on his nose. I was still charged for a full check up and left with no answers. RID: 35068
Click to report rating    12/4/11   5     4     4     4   Have taken my pets here since they first opened their doors. I would not see any other vet but Dr. Vessey, who has always been bang on with his diagnosis. He is trained in many surgical procedures that most vets would send you to PEI for. Many times I've just walked in and had questions, and they are more than willing to answer any that I may have. They have become really busy over the years and thats a reflection on how good their reputation is. I always recommend Dr. Vessey to everyone. Our vets are still human and can make mistakes but I believe the staff at Maritime Animal Hospital have our best intrests at heart or Dr. Vessey wouldn't have them on his team. RID: 29579
7/8/11   2     3     3     5   Took my cat in for removal of teeth;while in surgery or recovery he received a burn either from hot water bottle or electric blanket. Was sent home to us without any mention of this problem. They did tell me "all he did was cry while he was in recovery"!!! He suffered unmeasurably while under Dr.Allen's care! Took him to another Vet who recognized the 'very bad burn' immediately and began treatment. My Cat suffered in silence;he could not tell us what was wrong!!! :( I will NEVER take an animal there again!!! :( This Clinic is very busy and has a lot of staff;maybe "too many cooks in the stew",so to speak! RID: 26079
5/5/11   1     1     1     1   I brought my dog in and she was vomitting, diarrhea, lethargic. She was only 11 months old. Dr. Allen misdiagnosed her on three occasions and in the end made my dog sicker than she was. They did not admit her to give her fluids, nothing, they sent me on my way with Pain Killers and NO diagnosis. I brought her to another clinic, they immediately admit her in, gave her fluids and some medication for a bug she had caught. The staff at Maritime Animal Hospital seem more focused on money and raking people over the coals than they do in the actual treatment and recovery of the pet. This was not my first incident with them wrongly diagnosing or not diagnosing my pet at all. I would strongly recommend staying away from the clinic if you want vets who know what they are doing and legitimately care about your pet's well being. RID: 24808
9/9/10   1     2     2     2   Had a sick cat (blood coming out of the rectum) took it to Maritime and told to put on antibiotics. After second round of pills, tried to get back in but couldn't get an appt for almost 2 weeks. Asked for an emergency appt. Told they had no such thing. Had to take cat to another vet. Second vet was looking for blood work and other test results, things that should have been done at Maritime but were not. Made an appt for an ultrasound with Maritime and asked for specific date. Rechecked date but they had put wrong date into computer and was told i couldn't get another ultrasound appt for almost 2 weeks after the date I wanted. (rechecking shadow near bowel). Would never go back there again. They turned away their own patient who was sick. My cat ended up dying a couple of weeks later. I think they have lost the focus on helping sick animals. My cat should have been able to have access to a doctor. If this was a human, heads would roll somewhere... RID: 19658
Click to report rating    8/23/10   5     5     5     5   A good place to take animals - healthy or ill. Very compassionate and willing to work with you if finances are tight. Do not try to sell you what you do not need. RID: 19364
Click to report rating    9/4/08   5     4     4     4   This is a great clinic with three caring and competent vets. Better value for money than most clinics in the city and vets who do not rush to the most expensive solution and are reluctant to euthanize when recovery is possible. RID: 9893
