Been going here for many years , usually seeing Dr Bularca. He is a great vet, takes time to listen and explain things when my pups have had issues. My only complaint is the pricing is insane.

I had a great experience with Dr. Chartrand and her staff when my 16 year old cat, Lizzy, needed treatment for a variety of issues. We very much appreciated the care, attentiveness and warmth they showed Lizzy and us. And, anytime we were in the office, they treated all the animals and owners with compassion and respect. I also appreciated the follow up phone calls with us to see how Lizzy was responding. Thank you so much for all your care, concern and support during our difficult time. We very much appreciated everything!

Over the years, we strongly believed we were getting the best possible care at a fair price, until a conversation about Prednisolone came up with a friend who was paying $17.75 for 60 tabs and we were paying $42.75. Going over a couple of years worth of receipts and inquiring with other clinics - everything from exam fees to procedure costs – the result was that this clinic is financially unreasonable when it came to many charges.
Ask questions and do your own research, especially when it comes to geriatric companions because this is when things can really become financially overwhelming and often times puts undue stress on the animal with vet visits and a myriad of tests.
Case in point is chronic kidney disease. Is it really necessary to bring them in every 3 months for uncomfortable blood work, urine analysis, etc and a bill of $500, only to hear that the disease is progressing, as it should and will only continue to do so? No amount of money is going to change that outcome.

Dr. Stockburger and the staff of McPhillips Animal Hospital are the best there is in Winnipeg, in Manitoba and in all of Canada. They are all very caring to both the animals and their humans, giving the best of care to my dog Nestle every time we are there.

Dr. Stockberger is the best veterinarian in the city! She is caring, professional and truly loves animals. My elderly bunny had to go under anesthesia several times and each time Dr. Stockberger performed the surgery - each time he was fine. She commented that he gave her quite a few gray hairs due to worry. But my bunny died of old age and lived a happy life. Thanks for all your care Dr. Stockberger!

We have three dogs, one with chronic back issues who requires more than a little veterinary care. Dr. Bularca has been wonderful in his advice and caring attitude. He has called our home on more than one occasion to check to see how our Otto is doing. The techs and office assistants have always been caring and very professional whenever we have visited. I highly recommend this team to care for your pet.

We found the vets and their staff to be incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. They went the extra mile to provide the best possible care to our dogs, and take the time to explain test results, medications and treatments to you.

When rating Staff... I'm rating the front desk!Great young ladies always friendly and helpful. The problem is the vets that work there..Dr N is useless in solving my cats problem,I took him in for scratching his neck raw, and the help I got was a joke. They only want to make money.Always upselling.I was told he could have an allergic reaction to his food. The food she prescribed!!Then was told change it to the more expensive one.Hmmm he hated that in the first place,so switch to the other.Gave him a cream that did nothing. After 3 visists and 400 bucks later still nothing.will never go back.He is still bleeding and scratching.Still the girls at the front were always great.Don't take your cats to them.

I brought my cat in to see Dr. Bularca.....this guy does not know how to interact with pets or humans. He had his back to me the whole time and when I asked questions he seemed to brush them off quickly. Him and his assistant even had a disagreement regarding treatment for my cats ear mites. This did not give me confidence in his knowledge. The girls that work there are very friendly and polite, although there were several mix ou was to which cat I was adopting from them in the first place. I was told she was fixed (which she wasn't). I hope that my cats mites go away and that I never have to see this Dr.

They recommended tests/procedures that were not only unnessary but also risky. My dog was never sick. I stayed at this clinic out of loyalty but moved on when i realized that there is none on their part. Actually they are very loyal to $$$$$$$$$$ and a friend picked up my dog after a procedure once and they never asked for ID or anything. Just here ya go LOL

They charge about 50% more than other vets and what to do unnecessary tests. Staff is unfriendly. Look at the signs when you come in, it's all about money. The owner R. Stockburger, once she has made the sale, she's out of there. Very unprofessional.

This the worst vet that ever. They well soak you for your money and leave you having to continually spend more to get your pets fixed. My wife and I have there for 3 years, thinking that there costs were the norm for vet costs in Manitoba. In the last month, while I was away from home one of our pets was in need of treatment for a cracked nail where here quick was coming out. We specifically requested that here nail be cut back cauterized. 1000 dollars latter all they did was cut the nail and left what was remainder of the quick. So 5 weeks later the nail is growing over the quick again and inducing the same problem we had in the beginning. There solution at this point was to amputate the first knuckle on her paw. We decided to go to another vet for treatment at this point, after 260 dollars with the new vet my dog was fixed, I had all the meds I needed and my dog was happy. My new vet cost me 1/4 the cost and our issue was resolved. Moral stay away from Mcphillips Animal Hospital.

Dr. Colleen O'Morrow - WORST VET EVER! First of all it was plain to see that she disliked our dog immediately . She did not introduce herself to him, pet him, or even really acknowledge him at all. She checked him out and informed us that he would need allergy testing and skin scrapings to confirm her suspicion of Allergic Skin Disease which, is in fact, a simple heat rash that we treat at home. We felt like a couple of incompetent pet parents when she judged how we care for our dog's skin, which includes a few gentle, non-perscription products. Furthermore, we purchased heart worm medication and she didn't tell us how to administer it or anything. We will not be returning to this clinic and I will be telling my parents to find a new clinic for their cat as well. -Angry Puppy Parents

Best vet I have seen. I found they are caring for my animals and not out for just money. Dr. Bularca takes the time to answer my questions without brushing me off or feeling rushed like every other vet I have seen in the past. Very satisfied with Mcphillips animal hospital. Wish I started coming here 10 years ago.

Absolute first class clinic! We´ve been taking dogs here for 35 years. The quality of care is exceptional and the vets andvet techs always follow up with a phone call to see how our dogs are doing once they get home. They also do dental care and dental surgery. Reasonably priced.

I went to Dr. Sundmark for over 20 years and respected him and this clinic. I changed clinics last year because of high prices, unnecessary drugs and procedures, and a lack of knowledge by some of the vets. I was charged $20 for a bandaid that my dog removed from her paw on the car ride home.

I like the clinic - I've never had a problem getting an appointment. The vets are very informative and helpful. The girls at the front desk seem a little complacent and not very animal educated (that would probably be my only complaint).

I have been bringing my cats to this clinic for 14 years and have had the best care I could possibly get. Dr. Stockberger (and the other vets) genuinely cares about the animals and recommends procedures and solutions that make sense for the issue at hand. Sometimes the treatment is expensive, sometimes it is very cheap and sometimes, it has been provided for free. The vet nurses are great and are very good at their work. I have had several serious emergencies and all of the vets there have been adept at handling the situations. I recommend this clinic to everyone.

I took a stray cat I was trying to rescue to McPhillips Animal Hospital and he tested positive for feline leukemia virus. Dr Lesage was helpful and compassionate, however my complaint is about their fees and billing. We decided to euthanize the cat since he was quite ill and Dr Lesage explained his chances of recovery were poor and he would be a virus carrier. I had bonded with the cat and was visibly upset. I questioned the total charges of $281 ($215 for the FeLV test and euthanization and $66 for cremation). I said I had to leave, and asked for the clinic administrator, Peter, to call me. He was completely insensitive, beyond rude, and condescending. He implied that they should have also charged an additional exam fee. I said I would dispose of the animal myself, and Peter said they would cover the cremation fee. His attitude was unacceptable to a client who is patronizing their clinic. I realize they are running a business but he showed a complete lack of sensitivity and manners.

We have been bringing our pets here since 1974 and have always been very pleased with the service and staff.I can not imagine a more professional facility. Since Dr. Sundmark has retired we see Dr.Nitychoruk or Dr. Fisk now. Both are compassionate, patient and answer any questions we have. Both my wife and myself have no hesitation in recommending this facility.

I will never bring any animal to this place. I had cut my dogs nails, and cut one to close and nicked the quick. I left him at home in the backyard with my husb watching him while he was bleeding. I didn't have any of the powder, and didn't know at the time that you can use flour in a pinch. I raced to the McPhillips vet and ran in-there were no customers in there. I explained what happened and asked if I could buy some powder. The told me they don't sell it, they just have the stuff they use. I begged them to let me buy some from them as he was bleeding. They refused and just said, sorry, we can't help you. I finally got some at walmart and helped my poor puppy, but not thanks to any help from them. I have heard many other stories from other people who have had bad experiences here too. Don't take you animals here, please!
