Click to report rating    11/15/13   5     5     4     5   Whenever my regular vet can't figure out what is wrong with my pet, I always bring them to Dr. Bailey. She saved my dogs life a few times already. Two weeks ago, I brought one of my cats to see her. This is after I took her to 3 other doctors. She diagnosed herpes and got her on the proper medication. Jesse is feeling a lot better. There are times I've had to wait for Dr. Bailey. This is usually because she is dealing with an emergency. I have no problem with that because I know she would do the same for my pet. She spends time with me, explaining what is wrong (even drawing pictures) and telling me a prognosis. She spends more time with me then my doctor! The front staff is great, always willing to help when I come with multiple pets. RID: 48269
Click to report rating    7/12/11   1     2     3     1   I had a young dog refusing to jump - would scream in pain. After $3,000 they told me they could not find a thing. Took her home and finally my family vet referred me to VCA Animal Referral on Country Club. They found in 2 seconds that she had torn her ACL severely and needed surgery. Terrible place with questionable staff. If you love your pet and know something is wrong, don't waste your money and time going here. RID: 26164
4/11/11   1     1     1     1   I found Janet Bailey to be a greedy prima donna. After I spent about 5 thousand dollars there (that's right, they're specialists at getting you to spend your $$), she KICKED ME OUT of the office for not FOLLOWING HER ORDERS. Literally. My dog had a serious reaction to a bad med. Bailey prescribed, so against her ORDERS I took my dog off the med's. When I told her this at the next visit, I was told to get out and never return for not following her orders. As if I was a slave, not a paying customer. Her tech. is a cold woman who seems nasty to everyone. Bailey also had useless tests done on two of my dogs (as I was told by other vets), and bad mouthed other vets I was going to saying I should only go to her instead. Dr. Church is no better. He didn't catch that my dog has a leak in her right mitral valve. He also charged me $100 for TRYING to take her blood pressure (he couldn't actually do it). RID: 24284
Click to report rating    2/20/11   4     4     4     1   I took one dog with a knee problem to Dr. Dixon. His manner was gentle and he took his time explaining the surgery he wanted to perform. My problem was no x-ray had ever been taken. I didn't see how he could recommend surgery with no x-ray, and I opted not to do it. I took another dog to Dr. Bailey with a lung problem. After 7 hours of tests ($$$), she wanted to anesthetize my dog and do a bronchioscope. My dog had not eaten in nearly 24 hours so I opted out of the test. She prescribed antibiotics but he did not improve. I took him back a 2nd time and she wanted to do more tests ($2,200 estimate). She said he either had valley fever or pneumonia. I said just treat my dog. He died 2 days later. If he had initially been treated with the same prescriptions as he was the last visit, I feel my dog would still be alive. RID: 23025
Click to report rating    3/20/09   1     4     3     1   Costs are outrageous & they are way too eager to do surgery. They have a boilerplate for each & every patient & don't truly take the time to do thorough exams. Found a phenomenal surgeon in north valley - very conservative with surgery options; super thorough exam; very enlightening with our pet's needs/concerns as a qualified surgeon/dr. should be. AVS did none of the above. They just herd you in, cut 'em open & charge you up the wazoo. If that surgery doesn't work, oh, they're happy to do it again. Nevermind how much they want to charge & there's no consideration for what trauma it causes to the pet OR that redoing it is NOT the problem. Also, the surgeon may or may not tell you if they completed the job & why. You may get to find out months later with a xray at your vet's office. The standard of care is questionable, at least in the surgery dept, & there are clearly little ethics. Don't be fooled. They are NOT the best. Look around-there are others & they are worth it. Click to report rating    1/20/08   5     5     4     4   Took our dog there that had liver problems as well as out cat. Were pleased with their clean facility, caring staff, and that they took time to answer questions and discuss options. RID: 7019
