I feel fortunate to have found Dr. Lisa Mikol-Doering because of her extensive knowledge and continual study of avian physiology and behavior. When I found out she has an Eclectus (I have two) I decided to give her a try considering she was familiar with the species. She has been very helpful, receptive and knowledgeable. I feel very comfortable talking to her about my Eclectus parrots and respect her wide range of knowledge and patience. She's very compassionate and will listen and most importantly does not have a God complex that is so common with certain specialty vets nowadays. She works with her clients to find a resolution and is not afraid to try alternative treatments or treatments that aren't main stream. She is very gentle and caring toward all her animals and favors using as little restraint as possible when I bring my birds in for exams. I have already recommended her to a few of my friends with birds and they are very pleased with her also. Keep up the great work Dr.Lisa!

Westgate is a brand new facility. It is a year old. All equipment is new out of the box. The staff is VERY friendly and considerate. Dr. Lisa Mikol-Doering, DVM CAN NOT be more caring dealing with both your pet and you. She makes you feel like her office is your home. I used my previous vet and I just simply felt like we were going through the motions so he can get his check. I used to dread bringing my three pets in for their routine checkups. Not here. I look forward to it now! The communication between staff members is great. You never are standing around waiting for someone to find out what to do next. They have evening hours on some days. AND you can monitor your pets health record online as their files are able to be accessed online with a password. If you are looking for a new vet give Dr. Lisa Mikol-Doering, DVM and the staff at Westgate a try. You'll never leave.
