I had a terrible experience here several years ago. I was never fully impressed with the clinic but a friend of mine highly recommended them. Every visit I was given an estimate for work up, then my bill was always at least double that and until the bill was paid in full I was never even allowed to see my dog. Dr Cole did a cruciate repair, but the knee never fully healed. I ended up having to go to a secondary specialist to have the repair done properly. The orthopedic vet I saw said the original repair was done poorly. I have also heard stories from previous employees who spoke of the treatment they endured. I would never go back. EVER

The worst veterinary clinic I've ever been to (having dog and cat for 9 years and having lived in 3 different cities)! Arrogant attitude of staff, who WOULD NOT LET YOU SEE YOUR DOG UNTIL YOU MAKE A FULL PAYMENT!!! Doctors don't seem to be able to talk about anything but MONEY, made us to go for over thousand dollars of tests to give an expensive medication that did not work (eventually the problem was resolved by mobile vet who diagnosed the problem just by looking at the dog and prescribing a different antibiotic.) Well... I understand that everybody wants to make living and a GOOD one (by the way we have an insurance and paying is not a problem) but it looks like the main objective of this clinic is to GET A BIG BUCKS from you and if you expect a professional service from them in exchange - they seem to consider it YOUR PROBLEM OF EXCESSIVE EXPECTATIONS...

This is a nice clinic and the counter staff seem nice; however, after a $200+ vet bill for an ear infection/lab fees/meds, my dog got worse. She did better with polysporin.. After four days on the new meds from Dr. my dog would yelp whenever we touched her ear. I called to discuss, but was told it woudl be another $35 + likely another cleaning + likely another lab work + likely more meds?!?!?! I could post date payment for 4-days/payday, the message was.. "sorry your dog is in pain, but we don't wait for payment, let her suffer and call back when you have money"... I'm going in to get another prescription, but I already know that the cost will likely be over $100, and I don't want to start all over with another vet (recently moved to area, was the first time I'd gone to this vet or any in this area).. This is clearly a business run for strictly monetary reasons. If you do go, don't pay for the lab work, it clearly makes no difference, they prescribe based on trial and error anyway.

We love the staff and the care that our Princess Mia receives from Abbotsford!! The staff are all amazing, especially Charlene & Annette and Dr. Clark. They treat and care for Mia like she's there own. I would HIGHLY recommend Abbotsford to anyone who has a pet that they love!!

Dr. Clark is the only vet that I see each time I go to Abbotsford Animal Hospital. He cared for my cat for 19 years until her death and currently cares for my new one year old cat. He is extremely personable, knowledgeable of all aspects of Veterinary medicine, explains all options clearly and in understandable language and is a truly caring person! When my 19 year old cat passed away recently, he went above and beyond to ensure that I was informed of her condition and not only cared for her but cared how I and my family felt about losing her. Also, the desk staff and animal technicians at Abbotsford are friendly and you can tell that they really do love animals! Highly recommend Dr. Clark and his staff!

Just wanted to add an additional note of praise for this Clinic. Similar to what others have written in their ratings, my experience has been wonderful. Almost 12 years ago I brought my new pup to their facility, fingers crossed that I would find a vet that would care for him as deserved. Dr. Clark has never waivered in his professionalism, knowledge and respect for the importance my dog has in my life. In each visit I have appreciated Dr. Clark's thoughtful presentation of the treatment options available all with an eye to great care and meeting my budget. My guy is an active dog and as such he and I have needed the services of Abbotsford on more than one occasion! I have found all of the Doctors and staff complement exceptional!

I’ve been bringing my two dogs to Abbotsford for close to 4 years. I have never seen such commitment and customer service as I have witnessed here. The love and dedication to their clients (animal or human) surpasses all expectations. I am taken care of by Dr. Bokneck and Dr. Clark, their skills and compassion for my dogs are extraordinary! The rest of the staff are tremendous, warm and thoughtful. When our family pet passed away we were walked through the process and they were all there for us, some shedding tears and all offering comfort.

After visiting several different vet clinics and not really feeling satisfied with the various care offered, we were thrilled to have found Abbotsford!! From the amazing, friendly front-desk staff, to the groomer, to the kennel staff who always ensure that our dog is exhausted and happy at the end of a daycare day to the attentive, knowledgeable vets, we found that this clinic encompasses everything we were looking for. Our main vet is Dr. Bocknek. I can't say enough about him! When it was time to put our 14 year old dog down, Dr. Bocknek walked us through the entire process - even stopping by our home to check in on us the day before the procedure to see how both our dog and we were doing. We will be forever grateful for his kind, compassionate, knowledgeable manner. This clinic is truly a one-stop vet clinic and we have been happy to send our friends there for care of their animals.

We have been long-term clients at the Abbotsford Animal Hospital for the past ten years! We find the our dogs have always been given wonderful care in every sense. The staff is not only kind, and courteous, but also compassionate and caring. Out of the four veternarians, we have dealt mainly with one in particular, Dr. Derek Clark. His gentle manner and kindness only match his extremely competent, and technical skills! It has always been a pleasure to bring our two dogs to the clinic. We have always been greated with a smile from the front desk and have enjoyed getting to know everyone for the past ten years. Our dogs are very much at ease while there and have always been treated with a gentle hand, and kind words. I would highly recommend the clinic to anyone looking for not only a veternarian, but also a fully equipped hospital for their pets.

After routine ear and teeth cleaning under anesthetic, my Maine Coon cat was returned to me with no comment that anything was wrong. He had one large pupil and one small pupil, membrane over one shrunken eye, ears draining fluid and unable to walk.Apparently he was left with Horner's syndrome, perhaps a punctured ear drum, and a returning ear infection. Not sure why he still falls over! They should have known there was a problem after the procedures and if so told us rather than letting us find out the cat was injured. After we insisted, they did arrange for a home visit from another vet because the cat is only calm enough to examine at home. That vet provided more information, but the promised follow up has been only at our prompting. Again, I do not see how they could have released him from care without knowing (or admitting) his condition.

This is an expensive place. They like to push extra testing on you. The service is good and the support staff wonderful.

Four vets on staff and 3 are excellent. I have referred many people to this clinic and they have been very satisfied. You do have to take control of what is going on with your pet. This is the same as when you deal with your own doctor. You don't blindly say 'yes' to everything and then complain afterwards. Great hours and top equipment which is very important and that's the reason the prices are higher than the clinics.

This place is awful! They wanted to order a whole bunch of useless tests for my really sick cat. They ended up "diagnosing" my cat and gave me the option of treatment at a VERY expensive price (in the thousands) OR euthanization because he was "suffering". I went to another vet for a second opinion and turned out they hadn't even run the test they needed to for their 'diagnosis'- turned out he was negative and the symptoms for their diagnosis weren't even there! Treatment ended up simple, though lasted a few nights and was a fraction of their price. Go there if you have endless pockets ...

All they care about is charging you a fortune here! Terrible service, uncaring and money hungry vet who thinks he is great but is not. I would not want him to take care of any of my pets. Very arrogant!

Very Expensive. They insist on doing every test imaginable and it really adds up. This is a boutique vet. Only go there if you have insurance.
