Stephen Avery is very unprofessional, will not return calls and will quit on you and your beloved pet right when things start getting really tough. Avoid at all costs if your pet requires life saving care for a terminal disease ... best avoid altogether for any care - he'll pass your loved one off to techs and rarely see it himself. It's just a business for $$$, not for your pet's welfare. AVOID

Great staff, my dog actually likes going there. Even though he gets poked and prodded it doesn't seem to bother him. Always happy to walk in the door.

I've taken my cats to this clinic for many years and I credit Dr. Avery with saving and prolonging/improving the life of my one medically vulnerable, beloved cat's life. Many years ago three vets in a row said the compassionate thing to do was to euthanize my cat. Dr. Avery took the time, did the research and made the effort to save my pet and he not only did that but he also gave him many more years of a wonderful, health and happiness filled life. Very few vets in my experience would and could do that. I will forever be thankful for the care, kindness, and compassion that I have received thus far from Dr. Avery and his staff.

Looking for a new Vet - this is a good safe choice. Friendly safe care, was sent here by my regular Vet when he was on vacation. Treated my Golden promptly, reasonable charges for the hot spots, much less than other clinics we have used. My sister used them for her old cat and was happy with the care managing difficult end of life issues.

We recently switched to Leslieville and find it a fantastic clinic. Dr Steve Avery and Dr Helen are great. Dr Avery especially always calls to follow up and you can get them on the phone when needed. It's a nice small clinic with low waiting times, staff is friendly and reasonably priced for a Toronto clinic.

A friend recommended them after I had MANY horrible experiences with King West Vets. I took my cat in after noticing him drinking lots of water and weight loss. I dealt with Dr. Steve initially (he's so likeable), then Dr. Helen - my hero. My cat was diagnosed with Diabetes right away. I took him there many times over 3 weeks to regulate the diabetes, (including 3 non-consecutive full days) and the grand total bill was just over $500 with food+meds+supplies+exams. I followed their advice to a tee and after only 4 weeks my cat was in recovery and no longer requires insulin. Their diligence saved my cat. They are the most caring, compassionate and intelligent doctors and staff I have dealt with in all my years of owning pets. I will always recommend them. Dr. Helen always makes follow up calls and sincerely cares. I wish I had more space to sing their praises; they truly are wonderful people. Honest, friendly, personable and no up-selling or wait time. I love the entire staff.

I would not recommend this vet. I never made it into their office, so I cannot comment on the actual veternarians. However, their secretaries need to learn communication skills. They are extremely rude, and sound plain irritated on the phone, and were unable to answer basic questions or provide an estimate for services. I asked how much a regular check-up costs, and she replied "depends." They need to find new staff because I decided to not support or tolerate terrible service. I decided to go to Banks Animal Hospital instead, which was fantastic! I have a puppy, and they treated me AND him really great. Well priced too.

I recently switched to this vet clinic and am very impressed and happy with them! The clinic is clean and modern. Both vets are friendly, knowledgeable, caring, patient, and very likeable. The receptionists vary from super friendly to not-so-friendly. The prices are average. After having been to a bunch of vet clinics, this is my favourite, I would highly recommend them.

A friend recommended Dr. Avery when I was looking for a second opinion for my cat and I'm more than pleased with his service and the team that works at the clinic! My old vet was literally right across the street from me, but I am willing to take the time to travel to the clinic. Patient, understanding, and spends all the time needed with you and your animal. Also, not quick to recommend surgery when it's not necessary - weighs all the factors and lays it all out on the table for you to decide. I did not feel bad at all for not spending the money for my kitty's surgery! He calls to follow up when he says he will, if not a technician will call on his behalf. List of positives go on and on! He is really awesome!

As a new client, I was treated with respect. I explained why I was changing vets as well as the various ailments of my dog. Dr. Avery was attentive andunderstanding. I did not feel rushed. I am happy I made the switch!!

I first visited this clinic the morning my elderly cat died; when I called to ask if I could bring her body there, the receptionist was very sympathetic and supportive. When I showed up, Dr. Avery couldn't have been more kind. The entire team is terrific. I now take all my pets to this clinic, and would recommend them to anyone.

Excellent, excellent vet. Conscientious, reliable, kind-hearted, considerate, knowledgeable, diligent, and very reasonably priced. Dr. Avery is a very likeable individual who is much more interested in assisting you and your pet as opposed to billing you for as much as he can--a true departure from your average vet (from my experiences so far). He and his staff are very caring and it shows--the animals I have witnessed there never seem nervous or anxious and actually seem to enjoy their visits!

I've been taking my new puppy to Leslieville and so far they've successfully treated his Giardia infestation, taken care to ensure he is cleared of the parasite. They call to inquire about the dog's health following each treatment or vaccination and are prompt about calling back regarding questions you may have.
