Had been going for 10 years and had 4 pets there. They recently refused to see my dog who was very sick because I told them I might not be able to pay for the entire visit at once and may have to pay half up front and half the following week. They said they would not allow that and required full payment up front, and when I begged for help for my dog, they just said "sorry". Seven hours after they refused to see him because of money, my dog died.

I choose this particular vet because they treated birds. However my sick bird was injured while they were getting blood from her. They told me it was a secondary problem to her current illness and I should not worry about it. Now I have a bird that hobbles around without the use of her foot. I did not get a good feeling about the staff and the prices seemed expensive.

I hope I just went on a bad day, but some of the staff were arguing while examining my parrot.

The care was good and they were very knowledgeable about my pets condition but they are very expensive. It was the same price as the vet in Northern Virginia and we don't make that kind of money in Richmond. Just make sure you know what fees you will be paying for before you schedule a visit!

We have been taking our dogs to Pet's First for as long as I can remember. The staff and doctors there are wonderful. They are always friendly and are glad to help and answer any questions that you may have. The office, waiting rooms, and back are always clean. I would recommend them to anyone.
