Horrible vet! The front desk staff is nice. That's the only positive thing i can say. We spent more time in the waiting room than with the vet. He was in and out so fast! We went in after hours when our dog was sick. He had absolutely no answers for us. He suggested "lab work" , X-rays", even "pain meds!" He was going to send us home with pain meds without knowing if or why our dog would be in pain! When I explained to him my frustration with the situation he said "I'm not a magician, I can't tell what's wrong just by looking at him." I asked "Why would we come to you if you can't give us some idea of what could be going on" His answer was "I didn't go to your house and force you to come here". In the end he said "We are not the vet for you, so if there's an emergency in the middle of the night , do not come to us for help". Needless to say, I won't.

We have been customers of the Kyle Animal Clinic since 2005 and recently had to have our dog euthanized. I have always found the staff to be caring and competent, and capable of both being very compassionate about the health of my pet as well as being extremely rational and realistic about their well being. Dr. Matthews went out of his way to make sure everything was done for the care of my dog and when he passed we received not only immediate emotional support but also follow-ups to make sure we were OK as well as a beautiful hand-written card from Dr. Matthews himself. I have no doubt that all of my animals will receive quality care at KAC. The facility is on the small side but costs seem to be inline with other clinics in the area.

I took my pet there and it took forever to get seen. i was seriously there for 4 hours. they made me bring another pet in there the same day but refused to see it because i didnt have $400 to put down right then and there. Guy Mathews is the rudest person i have ever met. The way he talked to was not right. Him and the staff are very slow!!!! He is way too expensive and basically sent my animal home to die because i didnt have 2000 for him. Thankfully i found a wonderful vet in austin that treated my animal for $100 and she is doing great now! I suggest you for sure look around and dont take your pet there if you dont HAVE to.

I rated the staff low because of the poor customer service I received at reception. I would have gone with a 1 but I wanted to give some credit to the care giving staff for being capable. Facility is nothing special. Minimum of what I would expect. They lack the equipment for ultrasound. Punctuality is not horrible. Usually within 15 minutes of my appointments I had been seen. Monetary Value I rated BAD because, I do not feel that the services or supplies that you get from KVH are any better than any of the vets in the area yet they cost significantly more. I would recommend you consider other vets in the area when making your decision. San Marcos has a couple of excellent vets that will not cost you nearly as much. I had been a customer at KVH for 5 years and wish I had given the thousands that I have spent on all of my pets to a better place.
