I will put this very simply. I have just finished the letter that I will be sending to the College Of Veterinarians of British Columbia regarding Cats At Home. This is what happens when Dr. Susan Thompson threatens to call the SPCA on two extremely healthy and happy 9-year-old cats because we finally said NO to the "urgent" dental surgery that was recommended to us. The same "urgent" dental surgery that is recommended to us every SINGLE time we go. We fell for it for years, to the tune of literally THOUSANDS of dollars spent on dental surgery. After this threat we went to another vet, who very calmly opened my cat's mouth and removed the plaque with his fingernail. It came off, just like that. We were told that if the SPCA had come to our house, they would have laughed. So now I'm also going to contact the SPCA. About Cats At Home.

If you love your cat and have endless funds for treatment and over testing and don't mind the condesending 'my way or the highway' attitude of the vets, this vet is for you. If not, there are several other vets in the immediate area. If you do end up here, at least get a second opinion before spending a lot of money. I wish I had!

Very over priced, and seemed to us to be incompetent. We took our SPCA rescue kitten in for its first checkup. They overcharged us for an exam. Initially they wanted to refused to take the SPCA voucher for a free checkup, but eventually conceded after much convincing. The exam proved to be inadequate and missed a very obvious case of ear mites. Upon taking the cat to another vet two days later, ear mite residue was practically falling out out of the cat's ears. The other vet was surprised to hear that Cats At Home had even performed an ear flush as the kitten's ears were filthy. Cats At Home provided an ineffective ear flush, told us there were no ear mites (when there very obviously were,as the next vet we went to actually showed us them under the microscope) and overcharged us for the privilege. Also, they neglected to mention they would be closed for a special event during the time they asked us to bring in a stool sample. Overall: Not a good experience.

I was pretty happy with this vet. It was good to see that everything is done honestly and properly. My last vet wouldn't give me my records and did stuff that I think is dishonest.

The receptionist was very nice, and the Dr. seemed nice too but we were talked into a lot of testing and their fees were way higher than any other vet we've been to. Needless to say, we left their clinic and never went back.

Great care at this clinic - they know cats. At times, they can seem to "over-recommend" things to do for your cat, and if money were no object, would agree. You might sometimes feel pressured but know it's only because they want the best for your cat. But overall, very open, honest, caring veterinarian practice. Have been taking my cats here for almost 8 years and will continue to do so - driving more than 30 minutes to get there. Can also recommend Fraser Valley Emergency Clinic as an alternative - very comprehensive care there. Remember - YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR - if you want substandard care, go to a cheaper clinic. If you want proper care, go to Cats at Home. It is as much our responsibility to look after our animals as it would be for an infant - so do not shirk your duties as a pet owner. If you can't afford veterinarian care, you should NOT own a pet.
