Unfortunately today i walked out very unhappy, unimpressed, and angry which was very unexpected. I had an appointment just for an annual checkup at 6:20 coming from eglinton and leslie. When i arrived at bluecross i was probably 7-10 minute late so 6:30. I walk in the receptionist greets me, weighs candy and tells me to have a seat. At 6:58 the receptionist comes over to tell me they can't see candy because i was late and they close at 7. I was so upset and mad. I myself work in the hair industry and this is not how we treat our customers ! I understand that i was late and if they had told me i missed my appointment when i walked in i would've been more than glad to reschedule but not after almost 30 minute of waiting ! Very unprofessional as a client i'm giving you guys my business and clearly you guys don't care since you basically kicked me out two minutes before closing and made me wait 30 minutes to tell me you couldn't take me anymore ! I DEFINITELY will not be coming back.

This is a horrible vet office. My cat yesterday morning was playing with my other cat, and a couple hours later his eye was horribly swelled. I don't have a car, so I called Blue Cross as my regular vet is on the mountain quite far away. So I took my cat in and after a 15 minute visit, where the vet gave my cat a drop of stain in each eye to verify a scratch, she told me it was not infected but I would need to give him antibiotic eye drops every 2 hours until done. Which was great I was very happy to hear that. Until I went out to pay, and they told me that the 15 minutes, the 2 drops of stain, and a tiny bottle of antibiotic eye drops was 180$ ! I got both of my cats spayed and all of their shots for 120$ COMBINED!!! I was amazed, and crying on account of the fact I did not expect it to be that much. I had brought 80$. So I asked if they could let me pay that, and the remainder when I came for the check up appointment a week away, and they said no i had to pay the office fee

My family have been bringing our pets to Blue Cross for over 20 years. The technicians, reception staff and veterinarians are all very knowledgeable and kind. They provide high quality care for my many pets, and the costs are fair for the quality of services they provide. I have moved further away from this clinic, but they are awesome, so I have continued to bring my pets to see Dr. Lutchen and Dr. Haardeng.

Took my cat here, he'd been vomitting for a week. I suggested he may be blocked by a hairball, as he coughs them up a lot and hadn't pooped in a couple days, the vet immediately said not likely. They cost us $800 in unnecessary tests, and after a two day stay he pooped out the hairball on his own. On top if this, they were awful to my cat. Told me he was a terrible cat, put a sign on his cage, and that staff stayed away from him. He does bite, but he has no claws...I used to work in a clinic. Experienced staff should know how to handle difficult animals. The staff seemed very inexperienced. Very poor experience, will never return.

Our dog was hit by a car. We took her to the closest vet we found on a quick search which was the Blue Cross Animal Clinic. First thing to come out of the staff's mouth was they couldn't do anything and then they referred us to a location further than what we later found out we had to go. I understand the doctor may have been busy somewhere else, but at the very least give useful advice. Show some darn compassion.

I am very happy with the service I receive at Blue Cross. The veterinarians are knowledgeable, compassionate and caring and the staff are friendly and helpful. I feel like I can always depend on them to take good care of my pets.

The vet seemed inexperienced and misdiagnosed my cats condition. They also recommended too many unnecessary tests which seemed to be more of a money grab. Some staff handled my cat roughly (I believe due to poor training or inexperience). I would definitely never bring my cat there again.

The vets are compassionate and seem knowledgeable, but they are always trying to sell, sell, sell (medication, food, procedures etc.). Other vets do this too, but Blue Cross is the worst for this.

Dr Lutchin & Dr Haardeng are very good. They give you options & estimates before doing anything for your pet. Always call with test results themselves and answer any questions you may have. More expensive than other clinics but definately worth the money you pay. Doctors genuinely care about your animals.

Had a horrible experience with a dying ferret. He was in a semi comatose state, we took him in because it was the closest vet to our home. They said they couldn't treat small animals (which is fine), but the front desk staff joked and laughed as they attempted to call another vet clinic to see if they could take us. Incredibly stressful and upsetting experience, they were so lighthearted and laughing when our pet was clearly dying. [We eventually made it to another clinic where he was put down] Will never go back here :(

Last time I brought my dog to get his second vaccine, a female vet did not done "successfully"(like not into my dog's body) so my poor dog need to get 1 more shot!!Even my dog seems like not really hurt, but at that moment, me and my husband feel is that safe to send our little son to this vet?! The front desk ladies are BAD! every time I called, they always ask me to wait and they can't answer any question! BAD! I usually went to a vet in Waterdown. The price is a bit higher but they are more friendly and patient. My sister who got 4 dogs went to blue cross times and she said she will never go back to blue cross again! highly recommend the vet in Waterdown not blue cross!!

They have great vets, but jerky incompetent front desk staff that make even the most routine visits or calls a day-ruiner.

I have dealth this animal hospital on multiple issues. Had to take my dog for emergency X-rays the vet there was COMPLETELY wrong about my dog, missing a fracture in his leg xrays AND bone cancer. Cant remember this vet's name an older guy. Previously went to Joe Smith a GREAT vet who is retiring (that's why I thought Blue Cross could help my dog, but Joe wasnt working on saturdays) Later had to take the dog to emergency vet clinic. However, just recently took a stray cat there, the assistants scanned him for a chip and checked whether he was neutered or not for no charge. Thus, I have mixed feelings about this hospital, it really depends on the vet you see, specifically and some of the staff are way better than others.

Have been using Blue Cross for year for both Cats and Dogs. Dr. Francis is a grea Vet, but is sadly retiring soon, and has little hours now. He is great with cats, very knowledgeable and helpful. The newest Vet there, Dr. Fazakas, is great. I have had many issues with my dog, and she has been there to explain everything that is going on, and she discusses every possible option with pros and cons. I feel I can always trust her, and my dogs are very healthy now. She is also very compassionate when having to make difficult situations, as I had to with my cats. I recommend her highly!

My mom used to take her cats to the clinic for years. She was happy about the prices they charged. A few months ago her cat got really sick overnight and needed quick help. We called them to arrange appointment and made it very clear the cat was in severe trouble. The staff was very unknowledgable on the phone and took FOREVER to take us off hold (while my mother panicked). She then proceeded to tell us that they cannot see us for a couple of days (I guess too busy for a client who has been going there forever). We called another clinic in the area and they immediately booked us for that same morning. I have driven my mom to see this vet for years and was never myself too impressed with the place. The girls working the front seem careless and gossip about client cases and the punctuality is horrible. They always make you wait VERY long for a simple vaccine appointment. The facility is crowded!

Have sought care for my dog elsewhere after years of being a client at Blue Cross. Twice charged for appointments when major obvious aliments were overlooked or not "noticed" resulting in a second appointment for reassessment. Seemed more interested to quickly diagnosis after a physical and checking of vitals done at record speed versus listen to what I had observed or noticed in my dog. Little explaination provided to support diagnosis, and not encouraged to ask my own questions about such. Proves years of service does not always equal expertise.
