Click to report rating    6/21/18   5     5     5     5   Smith Ridge has been my vet for over 13 years. I consider myself very fortunate to have them as my vets. RID: 66347

Click to report rating    9/20/13   5     5     5     1   I am sorry for everyone else's bad experiences. I LOVE Smith Ridge! The complimentary role they have played with the Norwalk Cancer Center have given my dog with lymphoma 4 years survival for the prognosed 1! Only Smith Ridge diagnosed her rotated femur and cured her anemia with chlorophyl. Dr. Mike is so caring and giving of his time. I am forever grateful! RID: 47079
Click to report rating    8/16/12   1     2     2     1   They killed our beloved cat. They tore open her Trachea while incompetently inserting an Intubation Tube down her throat. They violated proper medical emergency protocol that is basic "101" protocol they are supposed to learn in Vet school. Our cat suffocated to death at the hands of an incompetent Vet and downright stupid Vet Tech. They had the audacity to charge my card for the entire surgery without my consent! I get an invoice in the mail for $895 and then have to fight for over a year with letters and paperwork to American Express to get this illegal charge off of my card.... all the while I saw the nasty and horrifying letters that the overweight, wretched "Office Manager" of this horrible place wrote to American Express. Additionally, I happen to be a Holistic Nutritionist and a National Radio Show Host. I have been Holistic for more than 10 years, and I really thought I was going to get a more educated and honorable group by bringing our pets here. Only got pain and suffering. RID: 36560
Click to report rating    7/26/11   4     4     4     1   To be clear the monetary value for the vet visit was fine. To get 45 minutes with the vet for $250 is reasonable and I had no problem with that - they are offering a very different services as a holistic practice BUT extensive and OVERPRICED testing made the bill $800. Not acceptable. I can see this in Manhattan where rents are astronomical but really, a CBC, Chem panel and thyroid testing for $225. That is not reality - I know how much these tests cost for humans and it's a lot less. Clearly they are hyping up those prices which makes Smith Ridge feel like most other vets offices - they are thieves. RID: 26473
Click to report rating    4/10/11   5     5     4     4   Last April, my 10-year old dog was bleeding from her anus and I took her to her local vet where she was immediately put in the hospital for an autoimmune disease. They did an ultrasound and found two masses -- one on her spleen, the other on her liver. They aspirated the masses and found cancer. After two weeks in the hospital I took her home only to have her seizure and put back in the hospital. Her local vet wanted me to see an oncologist he recommended, but I felt the chemo would have killed her. I opted for Smith Ridge's IV Vitamin C treatment. She has had a total of two treatments and she is still alive. It is now one year since she was diagnosed and you would never think she has cancer. While the tumors have not gone away, she has a very good quality of life. I am not giving up and will give her another treatment this June. I think this place is great. My dog sees a kind, compassionate vet. The staff are wonderful also. RID: 24282
Click to report rating    2/16/11   4     4     3     5   I couldn't be happier with a veterinary hospital. I spent thousands at 2 other hospitals, including a place with board-certified specialists, and my dog kept getting worse. Smith Ridge changed everything that I was doing, and using a diet change and food allergy tests and other blood tests and supportive supplements got my dog back to normal. That was 6 months ago and my boy is healthy and happy. The vets at Smith Ridge spend 30 minutes with me so I get all my questions answered. They charge more than my other vets, but my other vets only spent 10 or 12 minutes with me. I expect to pay more for the extra time. My first visit was an hour, and yes - it was about $250. But it led to my dog getting better and that's all I care about. Their treatment WORKS. I spent a lot more money on treatment with other hospitals that DIDN'T work. One of the front desk ladies can be harsh, but all the other doctors, techs and front desk are great. I wish more vets were like Smith Ridge. RID: 22919
Click to report rating    11/18/09   2     3     3     1   This place is unreal. They live on the laurels of Dr. Marty Goldstein who wrote a book about natural healing for pets. To see him is $400 right off the top. To see the other vets, about $250, but there whole premise is how many vitamins can we sell you that you really don't need! My first visit, they wrote out a plan for my dog to take about 10 supplements a day - some 3x/day (horse pill size for a small dog) & powders, etc. It cost $800, and sadly, my dog vomited over and over again and didn't want to eat because his stomach felt so wretched on this stuff. The analysis cost me another $1000, and I live far away. It's just a vitamin/supplement sales pitch & when something was seriously wrong with my pet, the vet couldn't handle it & sent me to the ER. They don't return calls after hours either. I was told just to call the ER since my dog had a disease they weren't equipped to handle. Wound up going to the Norwalk emergency referral clinic, where they saved his life. RID: 15373
Click to report rating    8/1/09   1     1     1     1   Their orientation literature is very detailed, but when I actually went there, consultations were not as promised (I went 2x) and fees were astronomical. Full fees were charged for partial visits. RID: 13695
Click to report rating    12/4/08   5     5     5     3   Expensive but they do a full blood workup and suggest supplements according to the results of the bloodwork. RID: 10775
