I dont think vetratingz is used very often any longer, but my dog and I had such a great experience at this practice that I had to share how great the doctor and her staff were. The receptionist were fantastic, the place was extremely clean and welcoming.

The front office staff here is generally very friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. There seems to be a fair amount of turnover, however, and that's when, occasionally, there are some rough patches in service. State of the art facility! Sometimes they run behind in appointments, especially when they have an emergency case -- completely understandable. I honestly can't compare costs, as I've never been to a place that I consider equivalent. People complain that it's too expensive, but honestly, I don't want to take my animals anywhere else due to the quality of care they receive here. The doctors are top notch and the facility is excellent.

On 7/25/16 our cat Fred had an appt. with Dr. Kathryn Hill for tests, which required sedation. Upon returning home with Fred, we noticed immediately that he was limping. We called and were then told by Dr. Hill that an injury had occurred there as he was coming out of sedation, but she had determined he was ok. We asked what she thought we were dealing with; a broken leg, a dislocation? She said no, likely a strain. The next morning we made an appt. with another vet. We then spoke to Dr. Bailey at M.C. Animal Hospital and were told for the first time what had actually occurred. Dr. Hill dropped Fred while he was still partially sedated. She then sent him home, not telling us that anything had occurred. At his Tuesday afternoon appt. with his new vet, the X-rays revealed that Fred had a broken pelvis. For over 24 hours, he suffered with no treatment or pain medication whatsoever. Dr. Hill directly caused his injury, neglected to treat it, and chose not to inform us about it.

I came to this vet while I was visiting from Iowa. All I came in for was to get my pets their flea medication an two of the reception women messed up on the medications. The first one luckily I caught in the office when on of them tried to give me a heart worm pill as vector flea medicine and the other girl gave me dog frontline flea medicine for my cats which unfortunately I didn't catch until I already put it on my two cats. When I called them in a panick they acted like its not a big deal and my cats will be fine. They barely apologized. My advice is to find some place that can read animal medicine not just answer phones.

We visited this veterinary office after hours, as our vet was not available and we had a sick cat that we ended up having to euthanize. The staff was so amazingly compassionate, from the front desk staff to the doctor herself, Dr. Fairchild. They made what was such a hard situation at least a little easier. The office was also SO clean. I was so impressed that we may have found a new veterinary office. Thank you to Dr. Fairchild and staff!

We love MCAH. I have read most of the reviews and in large it seems folks feel the same way. There are a few negative reviews, and that saddens me as we honestly cannot identify with those negative comments. We would not trust our five dogs with anyone else. Dr. Bailey, Dr. Fritz and all the staff have always been compassionate and demonstrated genuine personal interest in our pets. The state of their medical facility and in-house capabilities to diagnose and treat various medical concerns is beneficial because it means we often can get immediate answers as to what concerns we have for our dogs. With that includes knowledgeable, professional, and again, compassionate consultation on treatment options. As noted by some, we too miss Dr. Clemmons, but we are excited for the new work he has undertaken and everyone at MCAH speaks so highly of him. We travel a distance to go to MCAH, and sometimes that is multiple times during the week-- but it's well worth it.

prices are crazy expensive even though the staff is friendly and fairly knowledgable. Dr. Bailey is best Dr. around and highly recommend him to everyone.

Uncaring money hungry Dr. Rex Bailey! Not all staff here is bad, but I have seen many vets come and go from this facility. I beleive that it is to do with Dr. Bailey, and his terrible practices. The prices here are outrageous, since I've switched vets I've had better service, care and cost. I would not recommend this vet to anyone for any reason.

We chose this vet because they have a reputation for having a compassionate staff and clean facility. They far exceeded our expectation. The doctor was informative and the receptionist was very welcoming. I wish our personal doctors were this nice.

We have been taking our dogs to the Michigan City Animal Hospital since 1992. Dr. Rex Bailey and his staff provide excellent service. The staff is excellent at rescheduling appointments and/or fitting you in when there is a need to see the Doctor!When we traveled- we often hired one the staff to stay at our home so the dogs could stay in their own environment. When one of the Dalmatians experienced a turned stomach on our walk one morning, we made a quick phone call to say we were on our way and the team was assembled and waiting to tend to the emergency! Several years ago the facility went through a major renovation. It is a state of the art hospital. I'd venture to say that it is the premier animal hospital in the tri-state area(Indiana, Michigan, Illinois). If I could give it a "6" for excellent I would!

The worst Veterinary experience I have ever had in my entire life! I would never recommend anyone to this office. The beautiful building, coffee and treats will never make up for the lack of customer service and compassion. I will never step foot in this animal hospital again.

Dr. R Bailey is the owner of this facility and he is a great Vet and surgeon. His current other Staff Vets are also good. I have been taking my animals to this hospital for over 10 years. It may be a little higher priced than other Vet offices, but it is a state of the art facility, with a large waiting room and private exam rooms.
