I left my puppy there for 6 days went on vacation, his nose is bruised. They said they would bathe my puppy but he smelled horrible and it looked as if fleas were on him. i’m totally dissatisfied with the service. i feel horrible for leaving my pup there! Do Not use this service absolutely disgusting the way my pup was taken care of. and they do not let you see where the dogs are being kept. do your self a favor and run like hell. i’ll never leave my pup any where ever again.

My opinion on this place is a hell hole my regular vet Dr Wolf retired and referred his clients to this place at first I felt good about this facility until I was told my dog needed surgery to remove a lump it was downhill from there my dog was never the same ended up with a infection I was given medication which did nothing I started to feel like I lived there constantly bringing my baby back and forth trying to see what was the problem to no avail after awhile I said to myself you keep paying and your dog is still not better they kept my credit card information without my knowledge when I ask for the bill I am told it’s paid because they kept the number??very unprofessional so with no improvement I took my dog elsewhere unfortunately It was too late she passed away the damage was done I would NEVER recommend this place because I would never want no one to experience MY HELL

Dr Zipkin and his staff are professional and above all, caring, and compassionate.They make every effort to explain, listen and make us feel at ease.We never felt as if we were being rushed out the door.They genuinely love animals and it is demonstrated in the type of care they give our dear yorkie, Bella. While under Dr. Zipkins care, for any ailment, he will call to follow up, when serious, and is always available by cell for any questions or concerns, no matter how trivial. Bella has had a little vacation while we were out of town for the weekend. The cageless accommodations, cable t.v.,and toys made us feel less anxious about leaving her. We love Dr. Zipkin, Fern, Andre and the rest of the staff!

Been client of Hewlett animal hospital for over 20 yrs. and had worked as neuro nurse at the animal medical center in NYC for6 yrs. I know vets and medicine very well and I know that Dr Zipkn is an I upstanding guy and an outstanding diagnostician. He uses the most modern equipment and always uses new syringes and currently dated meds.Fran at the desk is sweet and extremely helpful and professional.Any unfavorable reviews are probably left from fired workers looking to vent anger. Dr. is rarely available. They performed tests on my dog without authorization while she was boarded and would not let us take her home until we paid the outrageous fees. They lie on their website.

the kindest people i know. we were displaced from our home for 5 weeks. our bulldog harry was boarded by dr zipkin and staff for the entire time.he is their patient and has been boarded there before. he was taken better care of than we were. they accomodated with a very reasonable fee for the stay i will always recomend dr zipkin and his facility. truly good people. cageless boarding in a suite w/color tv stereo bed toys water bowl walked 4 times a day indoor run outdoor run play time feed time proper temperature control. the most loving caring and understanding people i know. you can comfortably trust your pets with them. i have referred many people and always will

We have used them in the past but this time was horrendous. We picked up our dog who had severediarrhea, looked like she hadn't eaten and was so sickly it scared us. She would up drinking gallons of water and devouring food like she was deprived for the week she was there. She has sores on her hind legs that still are bothering her. She is not the same dog we dropped off and will never ever drop her off here again. It's so heartbreaking to think they are being mistreated and we are being lied to. These pets are our family members and we have sent our pets to the wolves.. It breaks my heart!!!

I have been a client of Marty Zipkin,DVM and his staff at the Hewlett Animal Hospital for over 25 years. All of my pets, from my exotic birds to my dogs have been treated by Dr. Zipkin all their lives. His knowledge, experience and love of his work is only outweighed by his personality and overall concern for any and all the animals he treats. In fact, I don't consider myself a client, they make you feel like family. His staff is well trained and I would highly recommend him as your pet's veterinarian and also a great place to board your pets. Anyone who doesn't agree with my rating, I would honestly have to say something is wrong with you.

I love this animal hospital! The personal attention given to both me and my dog are beyond compare. I leave my dog with complete confidence that she is well cared for and loved. Dr. Zipkin truly cares for the animals he treats. I wouldn't even consider using another vet for my dog's medical care and boarding!!

Since the 70's I have been taking my dogs and cats to HAH. I would recommend them highly to anyone who needs veterinary care. Not only do I FEEL comfortable having Dr. Zipkin care for my pets but he also takes the time to explain in detail how to prevent any illnesses from occurring. I have left my dog and at their 5bone resort (of course as a parent you are nervous) and came back extremely happy to see my Bosco (cockerspaniel) waging his tail. Unhappy pets look sickly and depressed. The best rater is my dog Bosco, when I take him in for a bath or yearly checkup, he runs to the door and goes directly to Mrs. Zipkin to say hello and then goes to the back of the office where he knows he will be attended to. HAH is clean, the atmosphere friendly and all staff is professional. (Dr. Zipkin has a very soft heart, I know it bothers him to see abandoned or abused animals) My name is Suzy Sosa from Lynbrook and I am happy to report this vet as a number 5.

Hewlett Animal Hospital and Pet Resort is a wonderful place. Our “fur-babies” have been patients at Hewlett Animal Hospital and Pet Resort for a long time and this place treats all pets and their owners with the upmost respect and tender love and care! We use all of their services, including Veterinary, Cageless Boarding, and Grooming and are extremely impressed with the high level of care our pets receive. Everyone here truly loves and respects animals and each animal is treated as if it was their own. The Doctor is extremely thorough and even provides his cell phone number so you can reach him after hours; which is a service our Doctor’s do not provide (and yes, he does answer, as we have used this service too). My Min-Pins fully trust each and every member of their highly-skilled and very patient staff and they look forward to spending time here. This is by far the best Veterinarian, Boarding and Grooming facility on Long Island and I highly recommend them.

I have left my dog there twice and both times she seemed well cared for and happy. The staff is very friendly and upbeat, and they really seem to like animals. I just moved into the neighborhood, and plan to use them whener I travel

I made the mistake of not believing the one bad post I found on the internet about Hewlett Pet Resort I wish I had.After calling and being reassured that all was well on the day of pick up after getting them home did we notice some “issues”.My 13 year old arthritic dog had bite wounds on his head, under his chin and by his ear and was walking with a limp. He had also lost weight. My 9 year old cancer survivor had a quarter diameter skin tag on his leg that was missing and the area was infected, he had cuts on his paws, a bloody muzzle and nose, lost weight and was coughing and sneezing. I haven't yet addressed this with Fern since I needed to calm down and get my dogs healthy again. I gave them explicit instructions that my dogs were not to be around other animals, I seriously want to know what happened to my dogs and they can't tell me. For the amount of money that we gave them to care for our dogs, they should have been in pristine condition when we picked them up not beat up.

I purchased a "pure bred" welsh corgi from Dr Zipkin. I was promised that she was a pedigre dog and when I inquired about documentation he got very nervouis and tried to blow me off. When I pressed him a bit he admitted that HE performs a artificial insemination on the dogs and gets females pregnant that way and of corse sells them for approx $1000 to people like me. Well, it gets worse. When my dog was only 9 months old, she started dragging her hind quarters so I rushed her there. When he told me she had hip dysplasia and I suggested it was due to her in breeding he then shot back that maybe I injured her in some way. This guy is an out and out sheister and not acting in the best interest of innocent animals who do not asked to be bred into this world!!! . She lived to be 9 years old until her kidneys finally failled due to the anti inflammatory drugs for her hip dysplasia. i gave her the best life I could.

Awful place to bring an animal. Dr uses primitive medicine and techniques. Gave me outdated medication. As far as boarding I was told he shoves several dogs together during the holidays. Woman on the phone told me my dog would be kept in a private room NO SUCH THING !! A guy who worked there told me that the DR's wife is the office manager and tells people they are never overbooked. Thats why they shove strange animals together. Also was told they give dogs a pill when they board and it is never administered to them, and that the premises they show people is not what the rest of the hospital looks like. I can only imagine what a hospital of horrors this is. They lost my business and I hope anyone who reads this will not bring their pets there either.
