I had the displeasure of coming into Hartzel Animal Hospital(not to be confused with any other animal clinic)...i always had my pets be cared for by this animal hospital when I had pets in the past.I came here this am to pick up my daughters family pet records to enble her to receive prompt treatment today on a Saturday, due to the sudden falling illness of their family pet..She had called Hartzel to explain her dogs status and was offered a Next Wed!! apt as the schedule was full.Obviously that was far from acceptable so in tears she had to hang up from a ever so ignorant receptionist(whom i likely met there) to locate another clinic..When i arrived to pick up the records (which were not many as yes this dog is behind in her vaccinations and exams as my daughter was informed)I most certainly met quite a un professional ignorant person.Comments to me as I was leaving by customers confirmed such..No we dont need to go “to Wilsons” or “emerg clinic”.Thanks!your presentation speaks volume

I think a lot of reviews are reading on here are confusing Hartzel with Wilson across the street. I have never met a cold person, and as someone who has had multiple surgeries on their dog I would say money is the last thought on their minds. They have squeezed my pets in for emergency surgeries, I have never been to a more caring vet!

I used to go to this vet and they were awesome. Like friends. Once they moved to a different location things changed. I started seeing different not so friendly faces, different vet each time which I hate and the prices went up. WAY UP! I really do think they love animals and they were nothing but kind to us and helpful but the prices are just too much.

My personal experience is veterinary medicine is guess work. You work with signs,and symptoms along with minimal diagnostic testing. Your patients can speak so you never know. Two doctors here misdiagnosed my pet and the medications I did a better workup with online information.

I have been taking my Labs to Dr. Keri Evers for years now. She and all the staff are very friendly and caring. You can tell they really care about animals. My dogs love going there to see the girls! I don't find it any more pricey since the new location as some have stated. Vet services are not cheap.....never have been, but if you love your animals it is well worth it. Keep up the Great work Dr Evers and Staff!

Dr. Hobbs is a great . She has been taking care of my pets for ten years . I would never go anywhere else. Staff is always carring and the new clinic is so much nicer.I recomend them to everybody .

I came in here with my puppy there was one receptionist who was beyond friendly and one who wasn't friendly at all. When I got in to the vet it was downhill from there. The vet was all about pushing me on to a crappy Purina medical food that wasn't even specified for PUPPIES let alone LARGE BREED PUPPIES obviously she is stupid because growing large breed puppies need large breed puppy food, when I kept saying that I didn't want the food she got frustrated and told me the food I was using was bad. When I went to pay for my bill they walked up with a bag of the food and I had to tell the receptionist 2 more times that I don't want that food. Obviously they don't listen and they're all about getting people to buy the food they supply because they get paid by the companies when Purina is one of the****tiest brands you can get. She didn't even end up doing what I went in there for because she was too busy talking about food.

Very friendly staff, very caring with the animals...Dr. Martina Bukosvska is a great and caring Doctor. I always take my pets to them.

The receptionist is cold and nasty. It is all about money. They push their horrible vet food and charge a fortune for it and got quite upset when I refused to buy it. Never the same vet and I am switching. The waiting room can be empty and I still wait 30 minutes or more past my appointment.

My family has been going to these vets for over 20 years. Unfortunately, since their move to the new location, it seems as if their big driver is the almighty dollar. The service is still wonderful, but it seems that every minor malady turns into a recommendation for a slew of tests and bloodwork, ending up in the hundreds of dollars. Seriously considering finding a new vet that keeps its focus on the animals, and not lining their pockets or funding their fancy new facilities... Unfortunately, finding a good vet is like finding a good human GP. Very difficult!

Both the vets and the other staff members go above and beyond for their clients (both of the human and fur persuasion. Admitted, they sometimes run a little behind schedule but that is because they give their full and undivided attention to each animal they are treating. We also respect that when they don't know what is wrong, they say so and either find out or refer you to someone who can!

When they were in the old building they had very reasonable prices. The place was old BUT clean. As soon as they moved into their new fancy office the prices went up BIG time! I guess they are just trying to pay for the new building, so the dog owners must be charged more of course? Ever time you walk in there it seems you get a different vet. I prefer a smaller office with only two vets max. Time to look for another vet....

Staff is all abt moneythe lady vet is so cold and not vompassionate.My dog was dying but they offered no consoling words.My dog eventually died the next day.theya re all abt money. cold cold place.they need to pay for the new facilites-all spruced up but their staff need an overhaul too.wont recommend it at all.

I have the greatest respect and admiration for Dr Martina Bukovska who has looked after my animals for some years now, in fact, I drive all the way from Toronto for her. All the staff have been very professional, friendly and helpful.

Wow what a horrible clinic, this place is all about the money, every question you ask has a monetary value tagged to it. Dont walk in the door without your wallet. And don't expect to be informed of hidden costs, or upcoming expenditures, the old bait and switch is what this place is all about. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. I'm sure they are well educated staff and know their stuff, but the welcome sign on the door should read "Show me the Money"

I went there with my dog. They charged me top dollar and the Vet was not friendly at all. Makes you feel like a horrible person when you have to bring your dog in for allergies

My herd has been with this office for the last 15 years or better. They're caring, compassionate people. They've nursed my babies back to health, and had to send a couple on to their next life. And have treated me very well. When I had to have one baby pts due to a serious illness and she was suffering, they told me to come back when I could and pay, no rush. They've sat with me in the car while I've cried for my loss. They've answered my many, many calls when they've had one of my girls in the hospital for a few days. Great bunch of people.

This is by far one of the best veterinarian offices available. The staff truly do care about their patients and "parents". I worked there for a number of years and can testify to this without exaggeration. The only reason I left was due to an accident which affected my mobility and ability to do my job, and even then it was a hard decision to make. It is a great environment for patients, "parents" and staff. I ditto the below comment - "10 paws up".

The staff / vets are very good. The office waiting area is too small. The office visit prices are a bit on the expensive side compaired to other vets. Overall and good animal hospital.

This is definately the best clinic in St Catharines. The vets are top notch. They consult with each other to make sure you get the best possible care for your pet. Their prices are very reasonable for the care they give. The staff are very friendly. They have no staff turn over, which tells me that they are happy in their jobs, which projects positively towards the clients. I would highly recommend this clinic to everyone.
