The staff is wonderful except for the main vet, Dr. Tim Zaharachuk. I would not recommend going to see vet at all. Overrated, dirty place, not worth the cost and he misdiagnosed my dog. Unprofessional vet.

I brought my hedgehog in to get a check up. Jenny wasn't available so I saw Tim Z. I must say he knew nothing about hedgehogs but they're supposedly an exotic pet vet clinic. He pushed around my hedgehog and tried rolling him on his back when he was quilled up. Making him huff and get agitated. He wouldn't even pick him up. Saying "I'm a wuss with these things" I do not understand how you can examine an animal without knowing anything about it. He didn't even know what they're supposed to eat. And said "we'll hopefully he doesn't get sick because I can't really do anything about it" that 5 minute exam of him bullying my hedgehog was $105. Never coming back.

I have been taking my cats here since 1991. Dr Tim Zaharchuk is the best vet around. He is extremely knowledgable and always treats my animals with love and respect. Yes sometimes we have to wait but I know that's because he gives the best service and never rushes his patients. One of my cats broke all of the toes in her back leg and thanks to his care she healed perfectly and lived for another 10 years.

Dr Zaharchuk is a heartless, money grabbing doctor. He does not value his patients and instead, he laughs at things like putting an anmal down. I wouild not recommend this clinic to anyone. He has mistreated and even missed all of the visible signs of a disease/issue. Do not take your animal here.

Derrydale is a fantastic Animal Hospital. They take exceptional care of their patients and provide very thorough check-ups. When my bunny had a chronic tooth issue, Dr Z was the only one who fixed it. Every other vet I went to told me that my bunny was going to die so I shouldn't waste my money trying to save him. With the help of Dr Tye, Dr Z had the skills to successfully complete the procedure. It was expensive, but I feel that the quality of service we received was well worth it. I would definitely go back to Derrydale. (P.S my bunny is alive and hoppy!)

Amazing clinic! I don't know why people are complaining about how expensive this clinic is, when it's practically the same pricing all over the GTA. The only difference is that you get exceptional service provided by all staff members (bonus!). Sherry at reception is phenomenal, as well as the vet techs, and of course Dr. Tye. The staff let me know what tests they'll run on my pets (I have 2 dogs and 1 cat) and also will let me know the pricing before they perform said tests. Dr Tye is an amazing vet and she has a wonderful team working alongside her. They make us feel welcome as soon as we walk into the clinic. My pets know when they are going to the vet, and they get excited, not scared or nervous. The wait times (if any) are reasonable, as I've never really had to wait for my pets' appointment. Derrydale is a wonderful clinic, and I'm so lucky to have found a team that cares as much about my pets as I do.

I love this office. They helped one of my cats in an emergency situation earlier this year. Dr. Zaharchuk explained everything clearly so we could understand why and how it happened. They were extremely helpful. The location is near to where I live, and I was aware of the higher prices, but I was also aware of the level of care and service that they provide. After bringing my pets in if something was wrong, I could always expect a follow up call to see how they are doing. Higher price, yes. But they care and are clearly passionate about what they do. Someone said in an earlier review that it didn't look like a vet clinic. Really? It's just a different layout, but it's clearly a vet office with all the pet-themed decor and memorials to pets who have passed away. The office doesn't smell bad like some other vet clinics do, either. So like I said - you do take a hit on the pricing (get insurance), but the service and care for your furry family member is top notch and worth every penny.

I brought my dog here and was very impressed with everything! I had an emergency with him and went to northtown in the middle of the night and they were terrible! When I went back to derrydale they gave me so much more information. The staff is always great and so friendly! I never feel like I'm being charged for unecessary things or being taken advantage of (unlike other vets I've been to). They are very knowledgeable and really care about animals! Other reviews say they had to wait but whenever I go there I'm taken care of right away! They also focus on trying to get to know your pet and don't just see them as dollar signs!

first off, my dog had a few chronic illnesses, so i was at the clinic often. i have a lot of experience with derrydale. STAFF: dr. Tye was our main vet, but every so often i got a second opinion from dr. Z. they have different approaches, but are both extremely caring. having two professional perspectives in one place was priceless. FACILITIES: homey without making you feel like you're paying for fancy decor. PUNCTUALITY: yes, you often have to wait. but i rated this a 5 because, as Dr. Z fully admits, they go off schedule to be more thorough in explaining the implications of their pets condition to you. and if something unexpected pops up, they'd rather treat it and nip it in the bud. MONETARY VALUE: i dropped some serious coin there. but it was worth every penny. i see some complaints about vet pricing in general. but THIS IS YOUR FAMILY. how can you put a price on that? and PLEASE realize that people need resources in order to keep helping animals - AND feed their families too.

Very professional clinic! The staff followed up with us several times daily while my cat was staying with them for a few days for observation and care, we were always in the know. They were friendly, considerate, and showed plenty of affection to my cat in the days before his time came. Great place--very clean and comforting; greta staff--friendly and professional, and worth every penny! Thank you Derrydale for all the care you've provided my cat with over the years.

My ferrets will only see Dr. Z. Not cheap, but extremely thorough. He is great with my babies and great with the "parents". Also, any man who brings his dog to work is o.k. in my books.

We've been going to this animal hospital with our dogs for two years and have been thrilled with the knowledge, attentiveness and caring of Dr J.T. Although vet bills can be expensive (regardless of what clinic you are at), they always attempt to provide options and ways to provide the best care without incurring further expenses - and they are always up front about what the cost for a procedure will be. We have really appreciated the professionalism of the staff and the comfortable feel of the office, combined with expert veterinary care.

This hospital is really overpriced. I think it's honestly ridiculous. Not to mention that you're going to have to wait over an hour to even SEE the vet. They are clean, but they don't look like a veterinarian office either. I wouldn't be going there again to say the least... They either don't tell you the prices or they make it seem like they're not going to be much... 45 minutes later you're being charged over 80 dollars at the counter. I recommend Campbells veterinary practice for dogs and cats. They're much cheaper and he even bandaged and did minor sugery (cutting a piece of paw pad off) for FREE... He even gave me a bandage roll free which lasted me over a week. Too bad if you have an exotic pet ... there aren't many other places to go in Brampton, so make sure you bring some extra cash going here.

My first visit to this clinic was good, good enough that I went back a second time with my other dog. I was not impressed the second time for the following reasons: first, I was charged 44.00 to put a bandage on my dog (I was also not advised that I would be charged this fee on top of the $70+ I paid for the visit (I had the same bandages at home and could have easily done it myself had I been advised, I've never been to a clinic that charges for a simple bandage that took him approx 15 seconds to put on). Second, we were told to bring the dog in later that week for a recheck, I asked the lady on the front desk what the charge would be and she said nothing... well we brought her in for a recheck and were told "It will be 50.00", needless to say I did not bother with the recheck. Needless to say I was very disappointed with my second visit to this clinic and would never go back. I must admit I have very high expectations, this clinic came no where near to meeting them.

I can say that the other comments and ratings preceding mine are accurate. In my case, I had taken a gerbil (Isis) in for assistance and saw Dr. Zaharchuk. Although the outcome for Isis wasn't as I had hoped (she had a very unusual tumor that was aggressive and too advanced to treat), Dr. Zaharchuk displayed a great knowledge, skill and understanding when working with her. Given that the surgery attempted was so delicate and involved with such a small animal, I'd have to say that if you have an animal of any sort requiring surgery and attention, Derrydale is a great place to go.

We have been going to this vet for 2 years with my dog and my cat. We transfered from Peel Vet Clinic (not impressed there) and couldn't be happier with the quality and dedicated service we receive here. Our favourite vet to see is Dr. Tim Zaharchuk.

There are two vets currently in this clinic and both are beyond excellent. My sister and I transferred from Northtown Vet Hospital and have not looked back. We have dogs, rabbits and birds and all have been treated at this wonderful facility. Your terrific experience begins when you open the door and meet Sherri the gracious, helpful and animal loving receptionist. The technicians are knowlegeable, friendly and helpful. The two vets Dr. Jenny Tye and Dr. Tim "Z" are thorough, professional, talented and most especially caring. I have never felt pressured into procedures, tests etc that were not truly necessary yet when there is a serious problem they are there with appropriate recommendations. I cannot recommend this Vet Hospital too highly and I have had occasion to deal with many, many vets over the years. Your pet should be so lucky as to have Jenny or Tim as their personal vetinarian!

If EVER you need surgery on your pet and you live in the Brampton area this is the clinic. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. All 3 vets are top notch and take the time to answer any and all questions. Dr. Z is hands down one of the very best surgeons in the GTA. Dr. Goodman is also very knowledgeable about diabetes in pets. LOVE this clinic and can't recommend them enough!!

There are several vets here, I can only speak for Dr. Tim Z. What a wonderful, professional vet. He has a nice facility. Talk about customer service, I honestly felt like they cared about my animal. He took great care of my cats and his staff was great. Dr. Tim has a way with both animals and people. I think he also serves on the National Vat Board in a major capacity too. If you want teh best, deal with Dr. Tim
