Click to report rating    3/12/09   1     2     1     1   I too had a horrible experience with Dr. Folz last May. My dog had what was thought a stroke two months before, was unsteady on her feet and pretty much confused. All my vet's told me as long as she was able to eat (I hand fed her) and was not in pain to give her some time. I took her in because her salivary glands were swollen. I gave a full history of what had been going on with her before she was seen. He walked in the exam room, told me she was blind, had a brain tumor and after feeling her neck said that he was 90% sure she had lymphoma. He told me not to waste my money at the neurologist unless I was considering brain surgery. He basically said my dog should be euthanized right then on the table. I took my antibiotics home and went to my regular vet who did an aspiration slide. He said that she had infected salivary glands. She now eats on her own and runs around like a maniac. She's not completely normal but she's not a dead dog on a table! Other vets I met were great! RID: 12077
Click to report rating    1/27/09   1     1     1     1   BEWARE! They put money before care. I spent $705 (initial visit, sedative, scope down throat, anti-inflammatory & over night stay). I requested an anti-inflammatory many times & Dr. John Foltz would have nothing to do with the idea. He kept telling me that my dog was suffering from three major problems and he had not even examined her yet. Finallym after he examined her he said she had a TUMOR on her larnyx & it would need to be removed (cancerous or not) & her chances of survival were 10% and I should consider euthanasia!. Long story short, I took my dog to her regular vet the next morning. Our regular vet took a biopsy, prescribed an antibiotic & sent her home with us. Four days later, our regular vet told us that our dog does not have a tumor, nor is the lump cancerous. He believes she ate something that scratched her thoat, causing inflammation. I should have listened to my gut that night in the ER. Please BEWARE! RID: 11389
