Terrible experience with the male vet who provided the service. Zero personality, zero bedside manners! I get that you are an animal hospital but you don't need to treat your patients and clients like cattle! I will never go back tot his place.

Dr. Callahan treated my dog with professionalism and kindness. I can see how some people would not like him but that is only because he does not waste time on bs. He is straight forward, knowledgeable and seems to sincerely care about his four legged patients and their caretakers.

My 10 year old female cat who simply had a runny left eye had to be operated and enucleated (eye removed)by a specialist in Montreal due to the corticosteroid drops that were wrongly prescribed by Dr. Callahan which completely ulcerated her eye which caused it to be removed. IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR PETS.....STAY AWAY!!!!

They have been seeing my animals for the last 28 years and in that time I have had 10 dogs and 8 cats. They have even taken the time to advise me on my 8 horses. I find them wonderful and very professional. The staff are excellent always seeing my animal's care and providing me with any updates as needed. All of my animals lived long and thanks in large part to Dr. Tropea very healthy happy lives. They provide a number of specialty services for their patient including some very complicated surgeries and are regularly sent referrals from other vet clinics even ones from New York. They provide on call services at all times when the clinic is not open. My animals are like my children and their care is extremely important so I have scouted out many clinics as far as ottawa and can honestly say I would not go anywhere else.

We've been bringing our pets (and we have many) here since 2007. No complaints. We've used the services of Dr. Tropea, Dr. Callahan, Dr. El Korchi and Dr. Virag and find all of them to be caring and professional. The support staff is also excellent. I find it hard to believe that they have a "very bad reputation" with the board of veterinarians in Guelph. As for Dr. Callahan, he recently dealt with a very difficult diagnosis for our cat, and took great pains to try to get to the bottom of things, including consulting with all the other vets in the practice, and a vet prof at U. of Guelph. I would not hesitate to entrust the care of my animals to him. And Dr. Tropea found a hemangiosarcoma in our elderly dog and removed it before it could rupture. Usually these tumours kill the dog before they are discovered. SLVAH also does a lot of great work for the local OSPCA.

My mom brought our older guy in for an emergency and saw Dr. El Korchi. They had no idea what was wrong with him but prescribed a medication WITHOUT asking for any medical history or allergies. Needless to say our poor pup ended up having a hematoma reaction from the medication so I rushed him back in, I pointed it to the vet and said "What is this?" his response was "I don't know" I responded that I did know as I'm a tech out of town and that it was a hematoma and he just shrugged it off. They have very bad reputation with vets outside of the city and with the board of veterinarians in Guelph. Needless to say I will NEVER bring my animals here again.

Our 12 year old black lab went into a crisis at 5 pm on a Friday afternoon. His abdomen was distended and I suspected a gastric torsion. My wife called the clinic to advise we needed help. They said to come immediately. When we arrived at their door, a staff member came to the parking lot to help us. A senior vet saw us almost immediately, did an x-ray and confirmed our fears. He said they could often save dogs with this condition if they arrive soon enough. Three vets operated for a couple of hours and by 7:30 pm we got a call saying he had survived the surgery and the prognosis was good but guarded until the next morning. Before the clinic opened on Saturday I was there. A young tech was outside with a small dog on an IV. I asked if our dog was still alive and learned he was alert and standing. I was over joyed. He came home Saturday afternoon and is doing very well. The compassion and skill of this clinic is second to none.

Dr.Callahan has treated our little Pom for nearly 10 yrs. now. It's because of Dr. callahan's professionalizm and humanity, that we have been fortunate enough to have this little bundle for so long. People have to remember that doctors are not Gods and just as human as the rest of us. Vets also have to point out if you are mistreating your animal, and many take offense to that..hating the vet. Have been treating my pets since 1960s, thanks to Dr. McGowen. I'm sure he would be very proud today of TSLVAH.

My pets were treated by Callaghan who is the worst vet there. If you care about your pet stay clear of this guy. I will.

I think that the service here is very dependent on which vet you get. I've had great experiences with both Dr. El Korchi and Dr. Tomlinson. However I would not recommend Dr. Callahan at all.

I agree with the last post. Unfortunately it isn't worth posting specifics because most people in Cornwall are not astute enough to even look for a site like this. But let me say, this clinic is horrible but it is the only one in town really. That's why living in a small community has it's drawbacks. If they kill or mame your animal and they have with mine, there the only game in town and they know it. Monopolies are never good.

Awful. They refuse to give you information, my cat had to be revived during the night, and I wasn't permitted to be informed of that until the next morning, late. I then called the next morning to see if he survived the night, and was told it was essentially none of my business until the vet gets in at 10am to decide if he's alive or not. Day or night, a pet owner has the right to know exactly how their animal is doing. Not at vets leisure. I'll never bring another animal near this place. I don't think I should be on a need to know basis when it's my pets life in question.

My great dane has always received great care from the vets here and the techs are always pleasant and helpful at answering all my questions.I had a major stomach surgery done on my dog with excellent results and would trust them with any future care he may need.

Dr. Tropea is the only vet I would recommend there or would trust. Dr. Vizel and Dr. Callaghan have both made serious mistakes on my pets
