No longer sure about this clinic. I have been going for years and they like animals but it seems that prices have gone up a lot and they are very much more focused on making money now... I feel that prices are too high ..feel the need to compare now and ready to move on to another clinic. The vets are ok and knowledgeable but but but...

Everything is good but the price. It's so expensive compared with other clinics.

I have used this local animal hospital to look after the needs of two cats and have always been thrilled with the amount of information I am given. As someone who hasn't always had loads of money to spend on pets, the prices are very reasonable and I was always given reliable information on whether a treatment/service was necessary, recommended or simply something to think about. One extraordinary example of the staff going the extra mile was the drive home I got from one of their technicians when my taxi failed to show up. It should be noted that I do not live far from the clinic but it was winter and it would have been awful to walk home while carrying a pet carrier with a frightened cat in it.

This vet was recommended by a family member and we were very pleased with the visit and the examination. We updated our shots and got advice on dental food and our aging dog. Really pleased. Recommend

I have been going to this vet clinic for 5 years and have received nothing but first rate care for my cats. Dr's and staff have always been caring and compassionate toward my pets. I am surprised to read below the complaint about pricing and Dr's care? I can say without a doubt there fees are reasonable considering the first rate care you receive from the entire staff. I have never received better care from any other vet in the city of Ottawa. The only very tiny issue I have is the clinic is not open over the weekend, however I understand that weekends are precious to even hard working vets and they deserve to enjoy the weekends as well. I would point out that they offer appointments from 8 - 8 during the weekdays which is convenient. We will never leave this clinic.

I actually had a really good experience at the Queensway West Animal Hospital. I actually learnt more from my visit there than I have learnt from the years of going to another clinic. I never felt rushed when I was asking so many questions. They all got answered. My cat never even flinched when she got her needle where any other time at another clinic she did. I was even impressed that she was given treats just before she received her needle as well when the vet was listening to her heart. the vet was very friendly and very knowledgeable. They truly care about the animals and it shows.

Love this vet. Went to other clinics with family pets for declaw and spay/neuter and always came out with infections. Started going to QWAH shortly after they opened and haven't had a problem since. Great staff who genuinely care about you and your pet and understand the bond that you have. I had a cat get extremely sick and they went way above and beyond to get him better. I absolutely trust them with my pets' lives and will continue to go to them for all my pets needs.

Wonderful staff. Vet is caring and takes time to explain all options. Our dog has had to have several procedures and he has always received the best of care. We would highly recommend Queensway West.

Reception staff are very nice and rooms seemed clean. Vet, however, seemed nervous, distracted. When he gave my cat an injection he drove the needle out the other side of his leg, spilling most of it on the table. My husband only told me after (I can't watch needles). On another occasion, vet went out for a smoke during the exam while the assistant was taking blood, and breathed second-hand smoke all over me during the rest of the exam (while I held the cat). Took x-rays, and was very confused when he read the films; he wasn't sure what he was looking at, and was thinking aloud, making all kinds of guesses. Visits were also very expensive. His other vet (a woman, who *did* seem very nice and competent) quoted $800 to remove one tooth from my cat; I went to another clinic and had it done for $400. This clinic is in a "designer" neighbourhood and has prices to match. Save your money and go to March Road or Stittsville.

Extremely expensive and refuses to give a rebate for multi pet households. Is quick to suggest XRays (at over $75 a pop), and expensive tests that aren't really needed. Wanted to charge $700 to remove a SINGLE tooth from my dog. I went elsewhere and found out it wasn't needed! Also charges $18 of dispensing fee for medecine (while other vets charge $6-$10) and outrageous fees to take blood work (i.e. charges $125 for blood work - which is kind of standard- and $30 to take the blood sample!!!!) Never going back there.
