This review is specifically for dr. Warren the "head vet", he has an ego problem and does not know how to talk to clients properly. And this clinic like many other reviewers have stated is a total rip off it is extremely expensive. The other veteranians were nice but I'm not paying an arm and a leg for 'nice'. The main goal of a vet is to be affective and treat animals not play with peoples emotions and trick them into paying for stuff they dont need.

The clinic itself is pretty good, but beware, it is very pricy and you're not always in the know until you get the bill. Case in point: brought my dog in for a checkup, noted some concerns I had with him that morning (threw up a few times) and they immediately determined he was dehydrated--didn't say a thing until I brought it up. 2 "hydrating" injections and 2 cans of "special dog food" later, I get a bill for $250+. Regular checkups will include a sales pitch from the vet or their assistant to buy merchandise and will usually run not less than $150. Quoted me about $800 for neutering. Ouch. Left that place as soon as I could.

An excellent quality of care for my elderly rabbit. Not all vets have the degree of experience with exotics that this clinic does, and in my experience (I've used 3 other vets) they are one of the best there is. I have very high confidence in their ability to handle just about any situation very well, and you can see their exceptional love, concern, and understanding of animals. The only disadvantage is that this clinic is quite expensive. Their fees are quite high and they encourage some tests that, while potentially useful, aren't always 100% necessary and significantly increase the cost. I stay with them only due to the quality of care. If cost is a significant factor, you might have to go elsewhere.

Very bad experience here in August 2012. We are new to the area and looking for a new vet. We brought cat in for annual checkup and vaccinations. Our cat has a persistent wheeze, and as soon as they heard that they proceeded to do every test in the book on him. This included giving him an oxygen treatment WITHOUT CONSULTING US and then billing us for said treatment which we did not consent to. They refused to vaccinate him because of his respiratory issue. They gave us sample pills to treat our cat's asthma. They did not discuss possible side affects of the pills. The medication made our cat very, very sick. After 3 or 4 doses we took him off of the medication. It took him over a week before he was acting normal again. We will never go back to this vet. I found them dishonest, and just interested in seeing how many tests they can throw at you to make your bill larger.

My Italian Greyhound August is getting all his care here. The staff is AMAZING, Dr.Warren is INCREDIBLE. I would trust my own dental to be done there, thats how professional and clean the facility is. It is a bit pricey, however you get what you pay for, and I will continue for my dog to see Dr.Warren, because nothing but the best for my dog. And dr.Warren really is that, the best.

I have been a client at Southdown for over 7 years and have never left disappointed. The Dr's are all wonderful as are all of the support staff. At this clinic everyone goes out of their way to ensure that my dogs receive the best care possible. I challenge all of the individuals who are complaining about cost to try to find another clinic that has such a high standard of care. Sorry folks, but you do "get what you pay for". And here, you are paying for attention to detail and the most compassionate people around. Also, when my dogs have had to come into the clinic for care, I am always allowed to see where they are staying and have never once seen anything other than a perfectly clean and comforting space. Everytime I have tests done on my dogs, the dr's always call to tell me the results regardless even when there is nothing to talk about. I have the utmost faith in Dr. Warren and his team and plan on being a loyal client for many years to come.

Yes, I agree with a lot of the comments...I was a client for over 16 years and although Southdown does have a bad reputation I experienced mostly good. However, I had a small pet and they asked me to try something but because it was over 3 weeks they wanted to charge me for a full exam again instead of a recheck.....yes, they really have gone downhill and are all about the money. Dr. Warren although knowledgeable has no bedside manner...ask his staff..they will tell you. I have since gone elsewhere.

While I do find this clinic to be on the high side of expensive, I cannot say enough about their services. I have never felt rushed when asking question, either from the front office or from any of the drs themselves. I have had a bunny, cat and 3 dogs treated by them and have no regrets about a penny I spent.

Dr. Warren & his staff are truly the best facility and most professional vet team that I have experienced. Every time I visit them with an issue with my dogs, he is attentive, conscientious, and succinct on what should be done to make the situation better for my dogs. It is up to me to accept his game plan and proceed or choose an alternative route. I have the utmost respect for his knowledge base and years of service in the Mississauga area. There is a premium to be paid for such peace of mind and I don't mind paying it for the comfort that my dogs are properly cared for. A+ for this clinic!

I brought my rabbit that was very sick with the intention of giving him a shot of steroid to help him gain some strength – on Dr. Warren’s (the owner of this clinic) recommendation.
Few minutes after I brought him inside the clinic my bunny started to gasp for air (there was a dog barking very loud – did he panic?).
Anyway, I brought my bunny hoping to help him, but Dr. Warren was not interested in treating him, he said, "it is time for him to go" and that I am not doing him any favor prolonging his life.
Seeing my bunny like that in the act of panic and despair, I agreed to the euthanasia.
Now, please pay attention – he charged me for this service $250. When I asked him why it is so high, he told me that he had to diagnose the rabbit? DIAGNOSE? - All that he did he checked his hear beat with his stethoscope – for this highly advanced diagnostic I had the pleasure to pay $85 plus tax.
