Tonight my husband and I picked up our beloved bulldog’s remains. We were absolutely appalled at the inappropriate and cold attitude of the employee who we dealt with. The woman handed the bag containing our precious girl’s ashes to my husband and casually said, “Here you go” and immediately turned around and walked back through the door. She behaved as if she was delivering takeout food to us instead of the remains of our dog. She was fully aware of what she was handing us and showed a complete lack of empathy and respect. It doesn’t take much to offer a few words of comfort. Her lack of basic human decency and compassion was sickening. I sincerely hope that my other dog nor any future dogs I have are never in need of emergency services because we will drive them to a clinic further away just to avoid the callous treatment we received at this hospital.

Very over priced and uncaring. They don't seem to care for animals

I had very similar experiences to the other posters. The doctor wanted to do surgery that turned out to be totally unnecessary, and the bill would have been astronomical. I thank God that we decided against it. The facility was nowhere near clean, the doctor was cold, rude, and uncaring. The tech or whoever she was told us that he was just worried about the animal, but he left our dog bleeding out in the freezing cold for hours. We called another vet after leaving, and our dog was cured with antibiotics and betadine. As we were leaving they announced that everyone waiting should leave because the doctor would be in surgery for the rest of the evening and couldn't see anyone else. Yeah, he really cared about those animals!

we recently brought my beagle to this facility late eve very recently. she was very ill and was declining very rapidly. the technician came in, accessed her, asked some questions, and soon after, dr petkov walked in. he examined her, walked out and the technician walked back in with a list of tests and x-rays to the sum of almost $1,000. my husband and I looked at each other with surprise regarding the amount of money. The tech told us we may be able to choose some tests to start with for a dx and start treatment, however, dr petkov basically told us it was "all or nothing. this went on between us, tech and dr for well over an hour as my dog lay on the floor. we felt almost like we were bullied into paying the thousand dollars before he would touch her. to make a very long story short, we took her home that eve, he eventually did make her a bit comfortable and we wound up putting her down the very next morning. we found a more compassionate facility. will never go back....

I agree with the other poster. A relative of mine had a somewhat similar experience with the same doctor. She brought her cat to this hospital after it was hit by a car, and he made her feel terrible for not being able to afford the $3,000 surgery. He was rough with her injured cat right in front of her, and so insensitive through the entire experience.

I had to have my cat euthanasied after he suffered a urinary tract obstruction. While the staff was very kind, Dr. Emanouil Petkov was unkind and very cold to my cat and me. He tried to dumb my weak, bleeding cat out of his carrier until his teck stopped him. He grabbed my 17lb. cat by only the sruff of his neck and then squeezed his bladder so hard my cat started to cry. When I declined to pay almost $2000 for my cat to have surgery. He treated me like a murderer and then charged me $330 just to put my cat down. He was very impatient with me when I wanted to take some time to say good-bye to my cat. I had never had to put an animal down before and the whole experiance was made even more difficult by a very cold, uncaring man, with no bedside manner. This man truely seemed to not like his job, people or animals. I hope no one ever has to go through what I went through with a vet like this.
