I cant say anything about this Vet except that he is out to make money. That's his only purpose. We will not return there. We are stuck in a contract that should never have happened to an senior dog but since he out for money he won't let us out of the contract even if we never go back

On my first visit with my 5 year old Roti they ran every type of test possible. Total cost for 2 dogs was $967.18 for wellness Exam including 2 rabies shots. A couple of weeks later my Roti suddenly collapsed and nearly died. He was rushed to an emergency visit with another vet & found out he was in diabetic collapse. He was admitted and put on insulin. All that expensive testing at Main West and, apparently they either did not do the tests or did not read the results! I never went back and my guy was well cared for at considerable reduced cost by my new vet. Oddly, Main West said "You should see the prices they charge in Toronto!" I laughed out loud and said "I just moved here from Toronto and had 3 different vets there, NOT ONE of them charged such outrageous fees! So, if you are trying to meet big city standards you need to lower the prices!" However, it was not the cost, it was that my dog danged near died after paying for all that blood work!

All staff were polite, friendly and compassionate. Dr. Joseph did a great job explaining the complicated medical bits to me. The waiting room is spacious and bright and free drinks and snacks were generously offered. The location was for me very convenient. I don't know how their prices compare to other vets, but I'm always shocked at the total cost when given. I was given options that could reduce the price, but still offer proper care. I appreciated that.

Main West Hospital has always been there for us.. Our dogs were so well taken care of..If all that was left was to keep them comfortable..Now with Dexter 1'/2 yrs.old..he loves going there..The Dr.s are so nice..The staff, you could not find more pleasant, caring people..so young and so knowledgeable.. The Best.

We have been going the Main West Animal Hospital for over 10 years! We wouldn't have been able to get through the puppy months with our new dog without the help of the reception staff. They are so knowledgeable and always willing to answer our many questions.

RUN, don't walk, AWAY from this place if your pet is ill and requires anything more than a simple vaccination. I took my cat here May 2016 to see Dr. Bohn and Dr. Salazar as my cat wasn't eating or drinking and clearly was in pain with stressed breathing and immobility. No diagnosis ever came from these two visits with blood test and X-ray for $828. The very next day her breathing was even more distressed and out of frustration I went to another vet in Dunnville (very good) that knew something was drastically wrong after looking at the same X-ray. To confirm diagnosis they did an ultrasound (immediately and for a reasonable amount of $ too). Her lung had collapsed but worst yet she also had a tumour on her heart. There was nothing more to do for her and I had to put her down. The Dunnville vets were efficient and experienced, whereas MainWest vets were expensive and completely ineffective and caused my beloved pet additional days of pain which is the worst part of this experience!!

Brought our very sick cat in to this hospital, he had fatty liver and was very sick. Normally a pretty bad prognosis I guess. He was hospitalized a few days and treated. He is doing fantastic now! The staff and the vets we're wonderful, very caring and explained everything to our family very well. Although it cost a lot, it was worth every penny and our family was clearly informed on what the costs would be. Thanks so much for saving Sebastian, I don't know what our kids would do without him.

Dr Flinnigan has retired and took common sense with him. I went to this vets since the 1980's. This past year, I was lied to, charged large amounts for products that didn't help the dogs problem. I kept telling them (for months) there was something wrong with my dog, they didn't treat the problem, just up sold me stuff and my dog kept getting worse. I went to a new vet, who on the first visit diagnosed the problem and within 3 weeks my dog was better and happy. This vet charges $30.+ less per visit as well. I prefer to think that being over staffed, they didn't know what they were doing, not that they let my dog suffer to make money. I would never go there again.

Good, no great place to have a pet looked after. Always compassionate,and polite. Very cordial staff, from the front desk to the vets. You know your friend is in good hands.

Always a great experience at Main West Animal Hospital. Staff are always very helpful, and the Doctors are always willing to go above and beyond to take great care of all my animals. Its very comforting when your vet calls personally to check the status of your pet. Shows that they really care.

Far too overpriced. Constant push for various tests for the same issue at hand instead of just prescribing the medicine needed for chronic conditions. Place is clean, facility is nice. Vets are nice. Too many receptionists and too many frills at this place causes the overpriced services. Was quoted almost double the price here for the same vaccines/preventions than most places. So we decided to take our business elsewhere. Do not recommend unless you have money to spend.

Wait time before and after visit is long. Once you have seen the vet you will wait until it is convenient for the staff to present you with the bill. You now owe them so YOU can wait. One shift of staff is good but the other is just rude and obviously disgruntled.

Not the place to go if you are on any type of budget. The prices here have changed drastically over the last year or so. Staff and vets are wonderful but I can no longer afford this clinic so have had to change to be able to get my dog her shots and medical needs met at a reasonable price. When we had our dog put down there was no comfortable place in the facility for this to happen. We had to sit on the floor with her.

Everyone here loves animals and loves their job. The vets and staff have gone out of their way & gone the extra mile to help my animals and offer words of comfort when needed. This is the only place I trust my animals with.

We have been clients of Main west for over 22 years. The staff always greats my pets with a smile as well as knowing when we need a privet moment... We are never rushed, there medical needs are 100% explained to us and lastly if our doctor does not know the answer to my pets problems they do not hesitate to refer us to a hospital that can.

I brought my 7 month old male here to be neutered. Front staff was amazing and addressed my concerns. I was called when surgery was over to reassure me of his condition. The best part was the lack of pain and swelling for my boy, he has healed amazingly fast. The last male i had neutered swelled horribly when operated on by a different vet clinic and was in pain for a couple of days so I was really concerened about what my new pup would face. The vet did an amazing job and my buddy and I both slept well the night of his surgery. Thank You Main West

I have been taking my pets to Main West Animal Hospital for OVER 20 years and would never take them anywhere else. The doctors are top notch, especially Dr. Zeller, and the staff is always friendly, professional and efficient. The facility is most certainly an "Animal Hospital", and the care given to their patients is second to none! Wait times are not usually longer than 20 minutes unless there is an unexpected emergency which, is understandable. You get what you pay for at Main West Animal Hospital, Quality Care and Excellent Service.

I was very impressed with this clinic! My rat Margot had a tail injury and we managed to get an appointment within the hour. We only had to wait a few minutes before getting into the office once we arrived. Dr. Zeller was excellent! She offered us a great price as well as great service, and everything was done very quickly. I will certainly return to this clinic again and recommend Dr. Zeller to other small pet owners.

I think Main West is a great place to take your dog (cat too I guess but I have no experience with other animals). After switching to them 2 yrs ago, I have felt comfortable speaking honestly with the vet and feeling like he has my dogs best interests in mind. The location is great, front staff friendly, prices reasonable and the place is clean. Thumbs up.

I can't say enough how happy I am to find such a good vet! Dr Bhan is the most caring, sensitive and down to earth vet. He understands the importance of the human-pet relationship. He does not do any unnecessary procedures and always explains things clearly and seems to go the extra mile. He has been absolutely wonderful with all of our pets. He truly is the best!!!! I don't trust my fur babies to anyone else.

My dog is now turning 8 years old and is suffering from knee, hip and joint problems. I have been taking Cliff to Main West Animal Hospital for the past 5 years since moving to Welland. The staff there have been nothing but fantastic... always very helpful and happy to Cliff and myself. When Cliff had to go in for surgery on his knee Dr Bhan was very compassionate and helpful, explaining exactly what it was that he was going to do, what the outcome would be and where all of the costs would be. It is Main West's personal and caring approach that keeps me going back to them

(STAFF:) Friendly nice and helpful. They seem well organized and answer any questions. (FACILITIES:) Clean and they seem to have everything you would need for your pet (PUNCTUALITY:) A 20 minute wait past my appointment time was the most. But some times a pet infront has a problem. They are great at getting you pet in when needed if there is a problem. (MONETARY VALUE:) Very fair. I feel that the payment is fair value with the problems that I have had. Excellent Place to take your pet. They have been referred by all my friends from the Welland, Wainfleet and Port Colborne.

Love the place and the vets explained everything in simple terms for thevacinations and heartworms. Could use a new sign out front but overall it was good and people friendly and i signed my pup up!

I have a dog with serious skin issues that I've taken to 3 other clinics in the area (no naming them). Staff and vet at Mainwest took time to xplain the problem and treatment. On a very good treatment now and its working!!! Thanks Chris

i have dealt with this clinic for years and feel they have always treated my critters and myself to the best of their ability. i do not request any particular vet as they all seem equal to each other. i have even had some of them give me their personal cell number in case i needed to talk to them. how many vets do this. i also had checked around as to prices for spaying and foung them to be the best rate. i will not change vets nor will my son who has also dealt with them for many years.
