A big thank you to Dr. Potter, Dr. Rurak, Amanda, Erin and everyone at the clinic for saving Shasta. This is the best and the only animal clinic that you would want to take your pets to. The doctors and the team are very friendly and family oriented. My Shasta has visited the clinic twice for different issues. The second visit was bit of dramatic as I was prepared for the worst. Dr. Potter did not give up on my little Shasta. Both her and her team performed an experiment and saved my little furry friend. Shasta is recovering well and has back to her normal actives. i cannot express my gratitude enough for the wonderful job you have done. THANK YOU & XOXO (this is sent from Shasta :)

Dr. Rurak and Dr. Ford performed surgery on our hamster's eyes to correct her eye lids that were causing infection. The entire staff at WBVC are so caring, and knowledgeable. Our hamster, Bubbi, is now happy and healthy, and we owe it all to Dr Ford and Dr. Rurak, along with the entire staff.

Staff here are very personable and empathetic. Dr. Rurak was very kind to my dog on her last day, which made a difference in a very hard time in our lives. I would recommend this great clinic to anyone.

Although we don't use this clinic exclusively, they have seen our rabbits on an emergency basis several times. The vets are experts in rabbits, and Dr. Ruark actually took the time to teach me how to do sub-q fluids for my rabbit. That ability has saved my rabbits more than once when they have gone into stasis on a Sunday evening. Also, both Dr. Ruark and Dr. Potter have generously donated their time to provide services at Vancouver Rabbit Rescue and Advocacy's annual Rabbit Festival, where people bring their rabbits in for vet checks and grooming. It's that kind of community outreach and involvement that makes for better pet owners!

I love all the doctors who work at this vet clinic. Sometimes they run a little late, but when you are shown into the exam room, they are very professional, compassionate and understanding. They are not just about money, you can tell that they genuinely care about your pet! I know this because they did a call back after our dog's exam and surgery and checked on my beloved pooch! This isn't your cheapest option around, but you definitely get what your money's worth. My dog doesn't get sick often (fortunately), but whenever we go there, not only the doctors but also the staff remember our names and our dog's name, and it feels very special. I highly recommend this vet clinic.

Sarah, Janne and Karen at West Boulevard Vet Clinic have literally saved our dog's life. Our labradoodle Deke suffers from the canine equivalent of Crohn's disease, and we were at wit's end for how to help him. WBVC's wonderful veterinary team were committed to helping Deke, and their patience and persistence have paid off with just the right mixture of medication and food. The team's dedicated work has made Deke stable and healthy. It is wonderful knowing that the great WBVC vets and staff are there for us. Thank you!

There are two words to describe this hospital brutal and unethical. My 10lb dog came here for having wood chips in his ear. The young Doc Sara is definitely not an angel. She used an long, sharp instrument poked into dog's ear canal. Her assistant used all her might and strength to hold the dog in place. The dog was groaning, screaming, biting, struggling in pain, tried to get away from her hold. Finally, Sara declared the object was too deep to lodge, asking me to sign a form to sedate the dog and promised to pay the bill. Total charges was $364.56. The dog was totally in shock, traumatized and depressed when he went home. He stood in front of our home head and tail down, frozen, motionless refused to walk. His bump was bothering him and in pain. I found the area between anus and testicles was swollen. After 2 days,he shake out something like black pepper in his ear. The dog has gone through this horrible ordeal. Now new foreign objects inside his ear plus a swollen bump

West Boulevard is the only vet clinic in Vancouver where I will take my rabbits. Dr. Potter is the best rabbit vet around and she is a leader in rabbit medical care. (At one time, this was the only place you could get Oxbow CC). She can come across a little gruff sometimes but she has a heart of gold. Without a doubt, she loves animals and is completely devoted to their well being. She gets very frustrated and hurt when she sees an animal mistreated and doesn't "suffer fools gladly". Her daugher Sarah is a great vet too and I am so happy to see she is working with her Mom (I remember when she was a little girl hanging out at the clinic). Dr. Kuteny is also an excellent vet. Mandy the receptionist is a gem. They are expensive, but you pay for priceless expertise. You might have to wait for your appointment, but they will never rush a patient through so you know you're always getting 100% from them. If you have a rabbit, don't go anywhere else.

The staff at this clinic are so friendly and good to me and my animals. They speak honestly and work hard to do their best by the animals that they treat. They provide excellent service for a very fair value. I trust them fully with the care of my pets.

The staff at this clinic are so friendly and Sarah is so good with both of my bunnies! They always call to check up on my my pets after a visit and are always available if I have any questions.

Dog has allergies. The doctor recommended my dog Sasha to eat z/d. How is science diet z/d going to solve this? Look at the ingredients: Dried Potato Product, Hydrolyzed Chicken Liver, Potato Starch, Soybean Oil (preserved with BHA, propyl gallate and citric acid), Hydrolyzed Chicken, Powdered Cellulose, Iodized Salt, Choline Chloride. Why is it that the first three ingredients are not meat muscle?

Clinic is clean, staff are O-KAY- sometimes kinda grouchy and sarcastic. Dr. R wouldn't treat an ear infection for my dog, instead she insisted that I purchase some vet prescribed diet ( ie. Science Diet w/ fillers, by-products and other crap). She got hostile when I told her that I would be feeding my dog raw food. The physical exams are pretty expensive for what it is- $80 for 10 minutes.

I found Dr. Potter to be knowledgable, compassionate, & not pushy like other vets. I did not have a good impression of the staff, though. My rabbit was in for chest x-rays but the tech made a mistake and took abdomen views. She also had a hard time holding my rabbit. After the surgery, my rabbit's right eye would not open. Dr. Rurak insisted that "it was open before she left." One week later her eye was still red & swollen, so I asked them if they wanted to see her. They wanted to charge me a regular exam fee. I took my rabbit to Dr. Prus in Surrey instead, as I did not feel right paying them to fix a problem that they caused. It turns out my girl had a corneal ulcer, likely caused by the staff being careless & scratching my girl's cornea while she was under anesthesia. This clinic is expensive ($450 for a rabbit spay), so for this amount of money I expected top quality vet care. Instead, I felt that they were unprofessional & did not care abt my pet as soon as I walked out the door.

Nice clinic but I found Dr Potter to be overbearing and insensitive. She was rude to me about the care I had taken of my pet, handled my bunny very roughly, and didn't listen to the reasons for my visit. However, the rest of the staff are lovely, I saw Sarah on my second visit and she was gentle and patient and I would highly recommend her or any of the support staff.

I usually take my rats to Dr. Brondwyn at Arbutus West but when an emergency arose and he was not in town, they suggested I try West Boulevard as they also see small animals. They got us in right away but we did have a bit of a wait as the appointment before us was running late due to a difficult patient. We saw Dr. Jamie Potter. I found her to be as knowledgeable as Dr. Brondwyn about rats but in contrast to his somewhat detached demeanor, Dr. Potter was very compassionate, understanding and empathetic. We ended up deciding to put our little friend to sleep but she gave us all the time we needed to make that decision and as much time as we needed afterward to grieve. We will definitely be going back to Dr. Potter in the future and giving her our recommendation.

I have been using West Boulevard for years now. I use Dr. Potter Sr exclusively, although now that her daughter is a vet there we see her sometimes too. Both are excellent with rabbits in particular. There is only one vet there I don't care too much for but we don't see that one. Dr Potter looks out for both animals and their owners, and has suggested ways to relieve my distress when one of my pets was chronically ill. They are very down to earth. Mandy at reception is wonderful, so is all the front of house staff for that matter. They are the most expensive vet I have seen but they don't push things on you either, in fact they are very straightforward in treatment and suggest things as they are needed. I have recommended this vet to many people.

A friend recommended this vet to me when I got my rabbit. This clinic is the best vet I've ever been to. They are knowledgable, friendly and sympathetic. I know live downtown but still go to this vet for food and vet services.

The best vets and clinic! Especially for treating rabbits, which Dr. Potter leads the way in research and care. I have been to two other vets who claim specialty with rabbit care & treatment before finding West Boulevard 7 years ago and they do no compare. True care for pets and their persons role in this treatment - after all, we are a team. These doctors and technicians run as a true team to ensure the BEST care and you feel you are part of the family while you are there. This clinic supports rescues and has a heart with wonderful friendly caring staff and doctors. Mandy is such a treat to be greeted by each time! I can no say enough as I have had three rabbits over the years who have had some form of cancer and their lives have been incredibly extended with treatments as this clinic embraces an integrated approach to healing and palliative care. I feel safe with my pet in their hands, hearts and minds. I have learned so much about caring for my pets from this clinic!
