The girls at the front desk were awesome in getting me an appointment quickly but the vet tech & Dr. Farrar certainly left a lot to be desired an xray for a slight cough was pretty much forced upon me & the main reason for going was to have a stitch removed after asking 4 times & leaving the facility I stopped to double check if the stich had been removed & it had not I had to go back to have the stich removed. I may have seen the doctor for 5 minutes and my bill was almost $400

My dog was groomed there for 1 year and the cut is repeatedly uneven and toenails never get cut when asked. When I called to ask if the groomer would touch my 5 lb pet up when she was boarded for 2 days she told me to go elsewhere. Then when I picked my dog up i was charged a staggering $127.00 for the 2 day stay when last year I paid only $50. Then they wanted to charge me for a flu shot for my dog when we were dropping her off and they never told me before when I made the appointment. My whole family brings their pets here. My sister has already left with her pets and now I am leaving as well. Not worth the time and fight.

We love Dr Vargas truly has a heart for animals. Her staff is always eager to help and see our littleman. Prices are a little high but well worth the care and support you recieve would not go anywhere else.

My have things changed. Ten years ago I was a regular client at this facility. I moved away to attend school and have recently come back and figured I would go back to my favorite vet's office. WOW! The hospital is gorgeous granite counters, computerized everything, huge fancy dog kennels. Everything this place was not. I am greatly disappointed in the LONG wait (over an hour) only to have testing and products shoved on me by sales people or nurses or whatever they are called and to get literally 5-8 minutes of Mitsie's time tops. So after spening $600 dollars for my "yearly package" I will not be going back. I really hated feeling guilty for not "doing what is best" for my pet. She is a 3 year old dog. Did she really need wellness bloodwork that was perfectly normal!? for over 100 dollars and I did not even get a call from a doctor one of her assistants called me! Overall very disappointed and can see others are saying the same thing. It's too bad, at one point I think she cared.

Orchid springs animal hospital is amazing all around!! Dr Vargas takes care of our little poodle Tommy & does a great job of it. Also Tiffany is our groomer there ... Tommy always looks wonderful after his hair cut. We tell tommy " lets go see Tiifany " & he's at the door & ready to go. My husband & I love orchid springs animal hospital & would highly recommend this vet.

The clinic is clean, modern and very well-kept. It feels much more like a real doctors office than a vet clinic. All three of our dogs are taken here, and I really feel like the staff has their best interest in mind. They recognize our dogs when they see them, and remember their names, and I've seen them do the same for other people as well. From the conversations I've had with the staff, it's very clear that they all love what they do. It's definitely not just a job for them, they really care about the animals they see. The doctors also seem to be very versatile in many areas of animal health, and I've seen some physical therapy happening here as well as honest nutritional counseling. Overall, a very well-versed and knowledgeable doctoral staff, and everyone is friendly and attentive.

Not only did they surprise us with an additional $1,000 after a previous $1,200 surgery, but they also failed to mention details & risks of the tumor removal. Turns out, when removing a mast cell tumor, fluids released elevate the risk of a seizure. If this information were provided prior to the surgery, instead of the next day when we returned with our dog due to his multiple seizures, I'm sure we wouldn't have chosen to follow through with the surgery (esp since he was older).To make the seizures stop, they sedated him & gave him phenobarb to stop the seizures. Finally, since they couldn't stop the seizures, we took our dog to an emergency hospital in Tampa. They informed us that the seizure medication was given in an "unusual dosage." Apparently the drug should be given in increments, but Orchid Springs decided to give him an extremely high dose all at once. Our dog had his life cut short due to apathy, negligence, incompetence, or lack of knowledge. Do not take your animal here

This facility is beautiful! Dr. vargas is the sweetest caring person u will ever meet! The girls did sell me things in the room for my dog but it was everything my baby needed! And if they wouldent of ran yearly bloodwork I would of never new my dog had thyroid and liver issues. The nurses are so great and caring and knoledgeable. The kennel is also very clean and they make it so fun for pets.

The technicians were fantastic but I felt like the doctor was not interested in helping me when I refused to do ALL 5 of the recommended tests the girls tried to sell me. I know that SOME tests are necessary but, how about starting with one and then going from there. I was greatly disappointed in the amount of time I had to wait, and the amount of doctor time I received, especially as a new patient. Visit, xray and one blood test was over $400. Guess what!? we figured out what was wrong with out the rest of the tests. Thanks for trying to spend my money.

I have used Dr. Vargas for both my shelter ferrets and my personal dogs and cats. She is in my opinion THE BEST ferret vet bar none. She is always up to date on the latest treatments and willing to work me in if I have an emergency. She has been very generous to the shelter ferrets and helped me out enormously when I had to fumigate my house for termites by boarding all my babies. They were wonderful giving all their medications and vacines and even working with my feral stray cats. They helped me load and unload all nine cates 2 dogs and fourteen ferrets! They stayed late and were willing to let me visit. I can't say enough about all the staff and especially Dr. Vargas. She has also worked with me when I had finacial problems in the past. I don't think there is a better vet! I drive an hour from Tampa to use her and it is well worth it even with today's gas prices.

I have 4 dogs, 5 cats and birds. I believe that my pets deserve the best care available with the latest technology. Dr Vargas and Dr Roy areawesome vets, smart but down to earth. My oldest dog has been receiving acupuncture and herbal medications for his arthritis and he is acting so much better than when was on meds that were very expensive and harmful for his organs. I don't mind paying my vet bills, I think pricing is fair compared to all that you get in your visits. The staff is super friendly and the place is beautiful! No place is perfect but Orchid Sprngs is as close to perfect as they come.

I was referred by a friend who brings her pets to Orchid Springs and can honestly say I will be going back to my old vet. I do not mind waiting, and I do not mind spending money on my pet. However, I felt the nurse girls were only trying to push products on me that I clearly did not need. Beautiful building but it is reflected in your $500 visit total! I LOVE Dr. Beatty and he is just as close and has a small clean practice with staff that has been with him for YEARS.

My animals have been patients of Mitsie's for a long time, we started with her when she was a small caring clinic, and watched her grow into a cold uncaring business. That aside. My dog was brought in for the same issue about 5 times. After about $1700 in acupuncture and nonsense tests, I was told basically he had a cushings and a kidney infection. I was frustrated so I went to Dr Nations and Maxwell around the corner where my animal was immediately given an ultrasound and had lab work that showed he was filled with cancer. Despite our efforts with surgery and chemotherapy, I have lost my friend. I am terribly disappointed in Dr Vargas and the entire staff of Orchid Springs for letting me and my friend down. He deserved much better than he received with her. Since her expansion she has lost most of her techs who really cared about me and my pets. The new staff are cold and uncaring sales people.

It is obvious that they are only after your money. You do not get doctor time, and the level of service has declined greatly in the past 6 months. New staff members are more like sales people and do not seem to really care about you or your pet, only how much money you spend
